  1. We need to lose this game for draft position, but the refs are really trying to help the Rams. It's crazy.
  2. Yes the roughing call is the worst call I can remember atm. Ever.
  3. We could have done big things with CMC if Rhule had not put us into multi-season QB limbo. RBs, defensive top ten picks, none of that matters if you don't have a franchise QB. You win by passing. Drafting all of those defensive players accomplished nothing. Rhule's brand meant nothing whatsoever. What an idiot. We should accept the Bills 2nd round pick offer.
  4. 1.) We are playing to win. 2.) We cannot see the future, so any QB we draft is risky. 3.) If we don't draft a QB high, then our risk of failure increases. 4.) I am not watching the 2023 season if we don't draft a QB in the first round. I will also leave the huddle.
  5. This might be one of the least liked rosters in Panthers history. Baker - Spoiled brat who doesn't like Panthers fans. Sam - Dahmer level detachment. Robbie - Barely strings words together. DJ - I can't remember anything he's ever said. Brown - Might be more boring than a DJ interview. Shaq - Always fed up and barely hiding anger. PJ - Rhule's lickspittle. Ian - never has much to say and screws up nearly all of our run plays, don't forget feet for hands. CMC - Not a leader, too positive to the point of being fake. I guess I like CMC alright, but what a disappointing team. Flush 2022 already. What a tragedy.
  6. The results of the remainder of this season will determine if Wilks has a chance of being our HC. He wants CMC here and he would tell Fitt as much. Furthermore Tepper wants a winning culture established right now and will not endorse dumping out vets for a rebuild imo. Fitt is probably frightened right now as he could be crap canned if Wilks doesn't earn the long term HCing position. This is because a new HC might want to get rid of Fitt and have a GM he wants. Just some thoughts and guesses as to what might be happening.
  7. It's basically a QB problem compounded by a less than average OC. Even so, if Baker were better he'd be hitting the open targets down field more often, and we'd be in a much better situation. MacD doesn't adjust his run plays to fit our players, he just uses the plays he likes regardless of our personally (see Ian Thomas run blocking). His pass plays don't appear to be setting up anything, they just happen independently, sometimes they work, and sometimes you wonder what the hell he was thinking. Even so, it's hard to cover everyone in today's NFL, and we had guys getting wide open a lot. Baker just didn't want to throw down field, or never saw them at all. These were TD plays if he saw them and threw the ball well. He's not seeing the field. The combination of MacD not adjusting the run game to fit our personnel, and Baker not seeing the field spelled our doom on the wall. It didn't matter what our defense was doing. Priority 1, find a QB in the draft. Priority 2, find an offensive guru for our HC.
  8. Wilks is a blitz happy defensive minded coach. I want an offensive guru as our next HC, but I understand they don't just grow on trees. I'm happy for Wilks, and I'm going to raise a stink about him. Now how FItt still has a job I'm not sure.
  9. I want an offensive guru HC with NFL experience. Why? Because if the offense sucks the HC can fix the offense by taking over. Ron can't do that. Ron is aa 7-10ish defensive minded HC. The best he can do is fix the defense.
  10. Absolutely trade CMC for a 1st at this point. That might the player who get the Bills over the hump to winning the SB in the next few seasons, so well worth it for them.
  11. There aren't any "psst... let them win" conversations. The conversations with the players and coaches are like this now "psst... the coaches were fired, the players are next, so give it your all." Even so, it's better if we lose out for draft position. We're not trying to lose, but losing helps us at this point.
  12. I am set in stone that I want a QB selected high in 2023 draft unless our scouts are dead set against it. I'm not qualified to evaluate the QBs, so it's up to the scouts. I want to roll the dice if the scouts find a good QB, and let that rookie compete with Corral. That is the scenario I want. Of course the QB rookie might flop, but that's true of every single rookie QB selected in every draft. There is an element of luck involved, and an element of devils advocate in what you're saying. I'm not trying to say anything is written in stone about Corral. What little we have to go on he looked really bad. I would certainly not pin my hopes on Corral from what little we have of him from the preseason. Yes things can change. Could Corral become a great QB? Not based on what I've seen, but we don't have much evidence either way, and I am not a pro scout. The wait and see approach always wins out because we'll have more information later. But on the other hand we (the Panthers) are going to have to make some moves. At this point I have the plan I want to see play out, and it doesn't involve counting on just Corral, or skipping the 1st round QBs and hoping for another 6th round Tom Brady, or a just barely good enough to execute the offense type QB. We need a top prospect imo. We're in waiting situation. It's fun to make predictions and come up with plans before we actually have to make the decision. Anything can happen. I might change my opinion 10 times before we reach the draft.
  13. Yeah if they identify a better HC option then go for it. I'm not going to stump for Wilks, but I'm not going to be terribly upset if he stays.
  14. Corral, who looked horrific and tiny against bland base defense, is NOT going to stop us from trying to find a franchise QB in the draft. Put it this way, if we don't draft a 1st round QB in 2023 then I'm not watching the 2023 season.
  15. We will run wildcat imo if PJ is injured. Yes I think PJ will be injured at some point this season. Wonder how Sam is feeling?
  16. Wilks and Fitt need to find a QB in the draft. Yes I think Wilks can remain hc. Trade the non-oline vet players and let's plan for the future.
  17. The biggest thing I warned about the last time we did this was bringing in lower tier QBs to help us "compete" right away. That creates what I call QB limbo, when you win too many games to have a top 3 or so pick, but not enough games to even sniff the playoffs. We wasted a season each on Teddy, Sam, and Baker. I'm not going through that again, so I have some ground rules this time around for this team. Rule number #1. If we don't draft a QB with our 1st pick in the 2023 draft, then I am not watching the 2023 season. Same goes for 2024 if we don't take one then. I'm not wasting another Sunday watching a failed veteran QB lead us to 5 wins. 5 wins is a bad thing. 0 wins is a GOOD thing. You either BOTTOM OUT, or shoot for the stars. 5 or 6 wins is the worst thing you can do when you don't have your franchise QB. Another thing we need to be doing is having a fire sale for all non-o-line veteran players. Moton can stay. All o-line vets can stay. Any other vets can be traded at anything close to a fair deal, or even a not so fair deal. Just don't get totally ripped off. Why keep a vet o-lineman? The o-line will need to be as good as possible for the new rookie QB. He will need a vet o-line to protect him from being injured or traumatized. The money for Moton is well spent. $$$$ on the o-line is ok while our rookie is still learning. Not a problem. All other vets are tradable. How Fitt has survived is anyone's guess, but now he has to get to work. God help us.
  18. Who was the Huddler who I told to go to Vegas and place a bet that Rhule would be fired? I hope you placed that bet!
  19. We've had Darnold and Baker at QB. That is more than enough to fire Fitt.
