Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements
Riverboat Ron replied to Dorian Gray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Should’ve built it in Gastonia from the beginning. -
I’ve gone though an uncomfortable amount of tape on these QB’s, at least 4 full games of each prospect (Willis, Pickett, Strong, Ridder, Howell, Corral) plus interviews, and they all suck in their own way. This is the worst group of players I’ve ever seen, I wouldn’t take 1 in the 1st round. Willis will likely go first based solely on projection, but he can’t actually read defenses or progress past his first read. He’s got a cannon for an arm and legs but he’s a very developmental prospect (2 years minimum riding the bench learning). The only guy I like is Carson Strong if we can nab him with a 2nd if we trade down from #6. I’m still holding out hope Sam Darnold has just been pretending he sucks and will actually play this year…

ELLIS L. WILLIAMS Of the OBSERVER on Jimmy G
Riverboat Ron replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
The pick will be Malik Willis if he’s there at #6. Jimmy G is the backup plan. -
Nightmare: We trade any substantial draft capital for Jimmy G or Baker Mayfield. Draft Kenny Pickett at #6. Dream: Saints trade up to #5 for Pickett. Panthers trade back.

What’s keeping us from turning in two names on one card at #6? Get Icky and Willis and other GM’s will hate that they never thought of this before.

Is There Anyone Other Than a T or QB for the Panthers at #6
Riverboat Ron replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
I sadly think this team is dead set on QB for better or worse. Willis and Pickett are a toss up as to who goes first but I think they go first half of the 1st round. In addition to that will the Saints trade up to #5 to jump us or #7 to jump the Falcons? Will the Falcons or another team jump us to get a QB? What if Detroit or Houston decide they want a QB? My fear is we have lowered our standard to fit a major need to the point we’ll panic draft a QB just because management views it as a vital need. It’s like going to the bar to find a wife. One night you see a perfect 10 but she gets snapped up before you can get to her or you see a 6 and pass her up because she has pointy elbows. 2022 feels like we walked into a bar on a Tuesday at 1am, stumbling drunk, and are going to propose to a 38 year old ex stripper from Lexington with a rose tattoo on her cankle that rolls all 300 lbs off the now thankful barstool. -

Panthers have about 7 private workouts scheduled so far

I swear to God I’m done with this team if Icky and Cross are on the board, the Saints jump us for Willis and we panic draft a QB at #6. -
KC looking to trade up into top 10.

#6 for Patrick Mahommes straight up. -
I just want an owner that wins a Super Bowl ever single season.

What scares me the most is we then panic draft Kenny Pickett.

Rockhill site going south fast it seems.

Hey, Charlotte is the gateway to Gastonia. -

Put it where it always belonged in Bessemer City. -
But did you play him on Madden?

I’m convinced we’ve keyed in on Willis and I think other teams know it. The Saints trade yesterday was to get the capital to trade up to #5 and I also believe the Falcons are actively looking to jump us for Willis as well. Giants are talking to Willis to try and drive a bidding war and scare the Saints, Falcons and even us into a panic trade.

So Strong will be our pick at #6.
