  1. It's baffling. Bryce is the most replaceable QB out there. Pretty much any other team with a bottom third qb with a mid/low ceiling is going to keep throwing darts. One more year of him and we can finally move on and have real hope again.
  2. That seems about right. No higher than that for a bottom third qb with two years left, including one expensive year. He played well enough last year to show he is startable. It depends on whether other teams thought he has any upside left and whether he's been hindered by coaching and surrounding cast. I think most teams would answer no, but if they thought he could step it up just a little I could see trading a fourth or fifth for a bridge guy/top tier backup.
  3. Yeah, but if you were a doubter on Bryce, that ultimate grade was predictable. I was a lot less skeptical than some at the time, but I would have taken CJ and didn't think Bryce was a sure fire hit. Tbh I probably would have given it a B or B- at the time, but the fact it turned out bad is not surprising. Basically a high risk QB underperformed, not shocking.
  4. Yes, because it'll be even more obvious how much he is the weakest link. I expect the same old pathetic play we've seen for three years, lots of 130 yd games with like 40 yards and four first downs at half. I don't see any reason to expect anything else. And so we'll move on.
  5. I think we're probably headed for something like 8-9 again but miss the playoffs. Then we dump Bryce, Pickett, and any other QBs, draft one in the first and sign a startable vet and go 8-9 again. Then the QB we drafted gets good in the second year and we win the Super Bowl in 2028 season.
  6. I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
  7. I feel pretty good about this roster. QB is the weak point, but that just is what it is at this point.
  8. There's a chance Brooks can play. But if there's any position where I'd be ok picking someone off the street if needed, it's RB
  9. Ha, they scare me more than they scare Bryce. In all seriousness in the 7th I would take whatever quarterback has the biggest arm out of any of them left. Bro needs to see how limited he is every single day in practice and so damn sure better make the most of what he's got.
  10. Qb in 7th if for no other reason to try and throw a little bit more of a scare into Bryce. I agree with your overall assessment, but don't agree that taking a tackle in the first isn't a sexy pick. A huge athletic tackle with high upside is pretty exciting.
  11. Not every pick has to slot into an immediate starting role. Depth at cornerback is critical, and he may be able to become a future starter there.
  12. I think we'd just look at secondary or center in that situation.
  13. It doesn't matter how much they run. Pressure rate is pressures/pass attempts.
  14. I think they think he can get a little better and be a mid level starter. If it was me, I would have picked up an actual backup before last season and benched Bryce for good after the first Saints game.
  15. I wouldn't have picked up the option, to me he's that replaceable. I think the Panthers are taking a more cautious strategy, not ready to move on yet but also holding off on committing to him until the last possible time. Basically, he's a competent NFL QB. He's bottom third in the league. That's actually not a terrible thing. You can win some with a bottom third QB. If over time he takes a few steps forward he might be a median level QB. I think those are the kinds of steps that Canales is talking about. If you've truly got a median level QB, it's probably worth keeping him as opposed to roll on the dice in the draft. But just to be super clear, I don't think he is capable of taking those steps, and I think we should and will move on after the season
  16. I mean, they're not idiots. Bryce isn't a very good QB, so of course they don't think he's a very good QB.
  17. If we felt like Ioane could be in an elite center than I have absolutely zero problem drafting him at 19.
  18. Unfortunately I like Pickett the least out of those three.
  19. As much as I dislike Bryce, no. Too many needs elsewhere and it looks like this dumb team is going to ride Bryce for another year. I've been saying I would like to take a QB in a mid-round, but now I'm thinking maybe a 6 or 7th rounder plus a free agent is the right approach, then go big next year.
  20. Like everybody else who watched the playoffs, I think Bain is a beast. He was just about unstoppable. But I didn't watch Miami much throughout the season. Just going off of stats he was somewhat quiet, just two sacks in the first eight games. I'm sure he had an impact in other ways, but did he just turn it on in the big games late in the season?
  21. The character issue was out there and I remember Pearce and others around him saying it was completely made up and unfair. Even made me wonder. Well it obviously was true, guy has probably been a problem all along. This guy just cost every other player with alleged character issues, even if small or false, an absolute ton of money.
  22. We've seen who he is. I hope he throws for 4k and 30td as much as anyone else. But there is zero reason to believe that will happen at this point.
  23. Doesn't have to be a big reset, the rest of the team is getting better, just need to plug in a decent QB.
