  1. Count me as someone who doesn't think the place you practice makes you any better of a football player.
  2. Graham wasn't on the decline. He's going to put up monster numbers in Seattle. Everything else I agree with.
  3. Have you seen the place?! Besides, a billionaire built the place specifically for the Saints to hold camp there. It's a world class facility.
  4. Like I said, there's been plenty of talk that there was a rift between Jimmy and the organization. And they feel like the offense will produce without him. They don't feel like any single player, other than Drew Brees. is what makes the offense move. If he wasn't happy, and they felt like they were getting decent value, I understand the deal. Right now? I don't like it. The drafting has been awful in NO. It's part of the reason we're in this situation. The drafting has really been subpar the last few years. I was thinking about it the other day. There are 3 first round picks still on the roster since 2006. Mark Ingram, Cameron Jordan, and Kenny Vacarro. All of those have been drafted in the last 4 years. The drafting must improve.
  5. I've heard rumors that he grumbled about his contract all year. And I've heard there was a strain between he and management and he and Payton. I don't like the move, but if Unger stays healthy and we can scoop up a good WR with one of the first round picks, it may work out. It gives us some cap relief in the future as well. No sense in keeping someone around who isn't happy with who he's working with.
  6. Well, Grubbs was awful last year. He's really been underwhelming since signing his contract. He was going to be cut, so getting something for him was actually a positive. Jimmy was a head scratcher. Apparently, Stills was offered first for Unger, and Jimmys name was brought up. Loomis said everyone would be evaluated, and held true to his word. Not necessarily that they're calling around shopping people, they're just making calls to improve the team, and there's only a couple guys on the roster who are untouchable. The crazy thing is, the move cost us money this year, so It really made it strange. But to answer your question, obviously the cap is a consideration. But people are also looking at this as if the Saints were successful last year. The Saints sucked last year. This is a team trying to make improvements while also being cap strapped. The Jimmy move hurts, but they seem to have a plan. I'm not gonna say the two little words you're looking for though.
  7. $15 million of that cam from the Graham and Grubbs trades. We had very little dead money before those two moves.
  8. I would say the majority of football fans out there would say you are wrong, but they're probably all wrong as well.
  9. If the only guy reporting it is a college analyst, don't buy it. Schefty, Glazier, Rapsheet. Those guys are legit.
  10. I haven't seen a thing about Brees taking a pay cut. Not sure if they've even approached him about it. I would think I'm a little more privy to the local sporting news, but I could be wrong, I guess. Bunkleys game was never quickness. It was power. Just hasn't been able to stay healthy the last 2 years. Our run defense has fallen off a cliff when he leaves the line up, so I'm happy he's back at a reduced cost. I would assume before Tuesday that Hawthorne and Grubbs get cut. Galette will restructure, freeing up about $10 million. I believe Evans takes a pay cut. Sooner or later, the details of Colstons restructure will come out, so we'll have a better idea of where we're at. Jimmy may restructure. Lofton is a candidate for a cut as well.
  11. 2 things. Bunkley took a pay cut of $3 million to remain with team. Brees hasn't said he wouldn't restructure. And I'm not sure where you're getting the "again". He's never touched his deal. the reason it's not being reworked is because he's got 2 years left on his deal. $22 million cap hit this year. $27 million cap hit next year. He's not a candidate for a restructure. He's a candidate for a pay cut or an extension.
  12. These ads suck Igo! I would just feel too dirty paying $5 a month to a damn Panthers website...
  13. Damn. Thought I had this one in the bag. Although I'm not entirely sure I'd my vote matters, I vote Montsta.
  14. Speaks of his impeccable grammar, leaves off the period on the sentence. I'd like to nominate myself. Because, well, I'm a Saints fan and you all need a voice of reason around here. Besides, you have a Seahawk mod and fug the Seahawks.
  15. What a shame. An entire year of this man's career down the drain.
  16. I feel like it's an intense family decision that he and his girlfriend would have to make together. Both sides would need to be completely honest with each other on what they want. There could be no telling him to go play and then getting mad when he does. Assuming that's what she's doing just because she's a woman is silly to me. Not all women are the same. Just like not all men are. I think he should do whatever makes them both happy. He works all year for those 3 and a half hours Sunday. I'll think no less of him if he misses the birth to help his team accomplish the goal.
