Get ready for Derrick Browns next contract…..
Smithers replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
He will play under the 5th year option in 2024. Won’t have to sign him to an extension until 2025. -
Yep - I’ve said many times that AR reminds me of Terrelle Pryor. He won’t be in the NFL long
-
The entire “he hit the ceiling” thing is so stupid. The pro day commentators even said it was likely scripted because the other QBs also hit the ceiling, albeit with no real media coverage.

Young VS Stroud, the greatest Panthers debate ever?

Butker Vs Gano was pretty heated around these parts -
If Forbes is there at our 2nd, sure would be hard to pass him up. He would lock down the nickel spot immediately and gets his hands on a lot of balls.
-
The Huddle should refer to April 1 as “Matt Rhule Day” from here on out. Can’t think of a bigger joke
-
Thursday games suck - the league is chasing revenue at the expense of players health and fans enjoyment. Want to add another game? Fine, do it on Saturday and compete with college football. If your brand is so great, ratings will surely be fine, right?
-
His worst completion % of the year came his final game - that doesn’t scream improvement to me. idk - I just think he will be out of the league in a few years. He screams Terrelle Pryor to me.

Watch the game tape against Kentucky. Dude couldn’t hit the ocean with a beach ball. Against NFL CBs, he would have had 10 interceptions that game. His lack of WR talent has nothing to do with 10-15 yard overthrows. Heck the few he did complete were either wide open receivers or great catches made on bad throws
-
We will be the laughing stock of the nfl if we take AR. He simply is not good. I don’t care what kind of talent he had around him at Florida - his low completion % was more of a result of poor throws than poor WR play. His accuracy is awful. At the nfl level he will get picked off often.
-
Would love to keep him. All about positional flexibility on the roster - Does Chinn serve as backup S? Does Shinault serve as 3rd string RB? every position matters. Having flexibility can free up a spot for MC

Chinn confirms he'll be playing more LB (closer to the line)

I love how the Huddle is full of professional football talent evaluators who know exactly what a player is capable of doing in each nfl scheme. Tepper could save a ton of money by not hiring coaches and simply reading the Huddle. -

Watch Kyle Shanahan turn Darnold into a Pro Bowler

If he’s such a miracle worker as a coach, why has Lance looked like crap when he’s been on the field? -
My guess is the Colts will trade for him, putting the Ravens on the clock for Levis or Richardson

Draft Wish list!! prospects not talked about..

Mazi Smith (NT) would be a nice pick at 39 if he’s there. Im a huge fan of Emmanuel Forbes (CB) also - could be a steal at 39. -
Burns is not elite. Not a single statistical category shows him as elite. There is nothing wrong with using the franchise tag on a player you don’t want to extend long term yet. NFLPA agreed to it.
-
Maybe he will be a better 3-4 edge than a 4-3 DE. But he flat out sucked against the run and got taken out of plays easily by TEs at times.

Statistics: There is no correlation btwn QB height and batted passes
Smithers replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
Remember - half of Bamas games each year are against terrible schools. They always field one of the easiest non-divisional schedules out there. There are no weeks off in which you don’t even take a hit in the NFL -
If Zay is there at our pick you take him, but we also need Edge and CB so trading up may not be the best option. I’m salivating over Emmanuel Forbes myself with our 2nd round pick.
-
It’s time. We need our uni stripes to look like claw marks and not lines
-
Luvu is a perfect ILB in a 3-4, especially at the Mike position. He can roam the field and make plays wherever needed. He can also rush the A Gap as needed.
-
If Zane makes 80% of his attempts, we get their 3rd for our 6th. If he kicks below 70%, we have to give them our 4th for their 7th. If he gets injured, we have to give them our 5th for their 6th. If Zane kicks more than 3 game winning FGs, we get their 4th for our 6th. But if he misses 2 game winners then that reverses.
