  1. Exactly. Again - offer him 50M per year, making him the highest paid QB behind Rodgers. Give him more than Mahomes and Allen and there is no way he says no. I promise you that.
  2. This is more about team resources at this point. Atlanta cannot afford to make Watson's salary 50M per season. They can't surround him with top notch talent right now (or for the next couple years).
  3. QB pay has nothing to do with Houston accepting our deal. I am sure our trade compensation is huge. I am talking about Watson directly. Pull out the big guns to convince him he NEEDS to be a Carolina Panther. former and current players, local celebs/artists, a huge pay day, say in roster decisions, all need to play a part. Community obviously means a lot to Watson. We need to involve the community in recruiting the most high profile sports figure to play in NC in a long time.
  4. I have not a fan of Sheena. She has no ties to this area and this is simply a job for her. She would go work for the Falcons or Browns in a heartbeat.
  5. If David Tepper truly refuses to lose...then this is his shot to prove it. I 100% think he can put an offer on the table that Watson and the Texans cannot say no to. Question is - is he bold enough to do it? Money talks. Offer to make Watson the highest paid QB in the NFL if you think that is what it will take.
  6. Finally got done with a busy day of meetings that pays the bills. Came on here fully expecting anarchy. Nothing yet I see.
  7. he dang sure better try. Any deal closer knows that last minute face time is valuable. Bring CMC, Moton and DJ to that meeting as well.
  8. Browns informed they’re out of the running per Shefter and Wilson. When will out notification come?
  9. Dangit - really wanted him. We need to get Bozeman under contract fast!!!!
  10. Agreed. I don't like Rhule, but am glad he made some concessions after the season ended...to include noting that some of the younger guys should have been give more opportunities. I hope he learns and adjusts and improves for the sake of the franchise.
  11. They are already feeling it a little this year, not being able to re-sign Armstead (at least yet) and Williams. Their depth behind Thomas is not very good and their dead cap figure continues to trend up.
  12. They got some time toward the end of the year. My guess is the plan will be: DJ, Robby, Smith, Marshall, Higgins, Zylstra.
  13. Of course they have - but in reality that is barely enough to sign Armstead. And puts them at -30 M heading into 2023 with only 30 players under contract. Their time is running out. They got lucky this year with the massive cap increase coming out of an awful cap during COVID. Next year's cap increase won't even be close to enough to eat up all this bonuses they are pushing down the road.
  14. Not giving up on DW yet.... But, I think signing Winston or Mariotta makes the most sense unless we fall in love with a QB in the draft. I do like Pickett, and think a rookie would generate some excitement for the fan base. But we would need to shore up the LG and C spots as well as MLB prior to the draft in order to take a QB at 6.
  15. Contract details: Rashard Higgins (Panthers) one year, $1.187 million, $152,500 signing bonus, $1.035M salary
  16. Exactly - we saw how NO performed last year when Payton couldn't be on the sidelines. Heck NO made us look like a super bowl team.
  17. I am begging for some more OL news for the Panthers. Bozeman would be a huge get - make it happen Fittz!
  18. PJ Walker 2.0 I know I am in the minority here, but I like Pitts. Unlike Willis, Pitts' game improved over time and he had a tremendous final year against much better schools.
  19. Raiders signed another CB - does that mean they couldn't reach a deal with Gilmore? Would love for us to re-sign him to add a vet to that room.
  20. Depressed that I am tied up in meetings most of the day and can’t hang out in here just for fun. beyond Watson - really hope we sign a starting C today.
  21. Yeah I agree - though I did find it interesting that the article noted he is expected to assist Phil Snow more with defensive game planning. Not sure how much assistants do that anyways...I would imagine they'd all be involved to some degree.
