Beginning at Noon today, teams can begin negotiating and verbally agreeing to contracts with pending free agents. Typically, some big names reveal deals early on, so expect so big news today. Will the Panthers make a splash or two?

Man I love Bozeman, but he’s not worth that kind of money. 8M per year seems fair, which puts him at 11th in the nfl.
-
Only reason to do it now is if he takes less based on current actual value. If he is going to demand top 5 money (which he’s not worth), just wait till Next season and tag him.

Shaq had 135 tackles last year, ranked 12th in the nfl in solo tackles, and had a pff grade of 72. He’s a good player. those same people on here claiming Shaq isn’t good are the same ones claiming Perryman is all pro

Chicago has never had a WR as good as DJ Moore
Smithers replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
I believe it was Moose who said “Chicago is where receivers go to die.” -
Stroud has been a beast for 2 years. The GA simply solidified what tape already showed

Corral bros.... what do we do now?????
Smithers replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
We need 3-4 camp arms either way. Let’s see what the kid has in camp and PS. If he looks halfway decent, he backs up whoever we take #1 and Eason stays on the PS -
Confused Why Some Seem to Think We Got Fleeced

I have a feeling we will go after Hardman aggressively. Reich said before he wants speed at WR. Hardman is young and fast, and a great route runner with a crazy ypc. Add Hardman and a pass catching TE like Shultz or Mike G and this offense is dangerous. Throw in a true pass catching back like Williams or Sanders and look out!

DJ Moore traded as part of trade to Bears!
Smithers replied to Doc Holiday's topic in Carolina Panthers
Honestly glad to see DJ go. He frustrated the heck outta me. Now to get Hardman in FA and one other. -
JOE PERSON: Panthers will not pursue Lamar Jackson
Smithers replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Too bad Gettleman isn’t their GM. He’d rescind the deal and Lamar would be a FA -
JOE PERSON: Panthers will not pursue Lamar Jackson
Smithers replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe he doesn’t. But sitting out hasn’t worked out well for players in the past. He may very well have to take less than what the Ravens have previously offered -
JOE PERSON: Panthers will not pursue Lamar Jackson
Smithers replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well - they went from an offer of 49M a year to a tag worth 32M a year. So I’d say yes -

I understand, but the situation has clearly changed -
JOE PERSON: Panthers will not pursue Lamar Jackson
Smithers replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He doesn’t deserve a fully guaranteed contract. That being said, we are stupid if we aren’t calling and offering 45M per year with at least half the total contract guaranteed. Sure, the Ravens would likely match the offer. But you gotta friggin try. Jackson makes this a team that can compete for a SB next season -
JOE PERSON: Panthers will not pursue Lamar Jackson
Smithers replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If the Falcons are interested, we should at least call his agent and let him know we determine his value to be 100M per year -
Thomas could be our post June 1 cut this year. That contract was absurd - the structure was good, the contact value was just terrible
