Lets be real, in the regular season at least one of those play calls is a QB sneak for a TD. -

Carolina Panthers Roster Projection Update
Smithers replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
How has he looked as a gunner in camp? Also...has Lucas been practicing with the first string at all? I would love to see what he could do running with the 1's.- 43 replies

Carolina Panthers Roster Projection Update

Boykin has special teams value...the other 2 do not. I would also argue that Boykin is more athletic than Cotchery and Bersin. And there's also the fact that the Panthers rarely learn from past mistakes...isn't that why Shula is still here?- 43 replies

Carolina Panthers Roster Projection Update
Smithers replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mostly agree...but I still think Boykin could make the roster. He is a big bodied receiver who is also a special teams contributor. Rivera likes size...we need it with Benji out. I look for Boykin to get plenty of playing time tomorrow night.- 43 replies

This hurts...but it is ridiculous that some of you think that a 2nd year WR is the difference between a winning season and a losing one. If the Patriots could win 10 games without Brady, than surely we (a much better defensive team) can win a weak division without a WR.
-
You're right...because coaches and GM's have never misevaluted the talent of their staff.
-
All you did is reiterate my point. "People" includes those two...and it kills me.
-
I find it hilarious that Shula still has supporters. Is he solely responsible for all of our offensive woes? No, of course not (improper reads, poor executions, drops, overthrows, etc. all play a part). But he has consistently shown poor judgement, bad play calling, and poor game management. Not to mention his inability to make adjustments as the game goes on.
-
He managed to get out of his pre-snap stance and touch the defender before he got to the QB...that is a massive improvement over last season with Bell.

Pie for a super bowl run in 2015/16

Can you explain to me what classifies Bersin as consistent? He moved the chains like 5 times, maybe, over 18 games. Add in the muffed punts, poor ST decision making, and dropped balls (yes, there were a couple), and I don't see how his performance can be considered consistent.
-
There is nothing about him that excites me. Did he make the occasional catch to moves the chains? Sure. Most were on easy routes and he was wide open, usually being covered by some scrub. I'd rather fill that 4th and 5th WR spot with someone who can make the occasional big play and can also contribute on special teams. Roster spots are too valuable to have him on the roster while not being a contributor elsewhere.
-
He is just one year removed from a 700 yard season. He made the most of Cobb being hurt in 2013. Last season he fell off the radar behind a healthy Cobb, Nelson, and Adams. Who wouldn't? I think he would be a good contributor for us. That highlight video shows he plays smart, always knowing where the sticks and endzone are. Signing him won't hurt...could potentially be a big upgrade.

Being accused? He was found guilty in a court of law! Why does everyone keep forgetting that? -
