He’s been very reliable for the most part, only missing 15 games over an 8 year career (8 of those being in 2019). It has been rumored for a month that he was going to be a cap casualty. Chiefs have a lot of work to do to get under the cap. He’s a least worth a look

Yeah and I understand that. What made Hurney so bad was WHO he restructured. It was often players who were cut candidates at the time or would have been a year or two later (KK Short). Spreading out guaranteed money for a player like CMC isn’t really a huge deal.

Yeah, but a lot of that Dias appears quickly when you factor in new deals for DJ Moore, Anderson and Burns.

CMCs deal was an extension, not a new deal. So in theory we didn’t sign him early. We added years to his rookie deal

You negative Nancy’s still have Hurney syndrome. Gurneys restructures were always bad for the team. Give Fitt a chance and wait for the details to come out

The entire league is cash strapped, so I don’t buy into the assumption that we won’t be targeting big names. A lot of 1 year deals or back loaded multi year deals will be handed out this year, and free agents will have no choice but to accept that. There simply isn’t enough money to go around like previous years. We have tons of cap space available next year and are among only a handful of teams with decent space available this year. We will be more active than some think.

If 4 QBs go in the top 7, we should be rejoicing that we will be drafting one of the top overall prospects in the nation at 8

The problem with across the board cap increases is that they reset the market for players salaries, so it doesn’t really benefit the organizations at all.

I see us upgrading LB in FA. This is the year to go after quality starters, with every team but a few having limited cap space. There will be a ton of 1 year deals, which is fine since we have a ton of space available next year. I see us going after Reddick and Perryman or Williamson.

He shouldn’t have been picked until round 3-4 anyways. Titans reached big time. They won’t get anything more than a 5th for him at this point. And he might just get cut

I have this strange feeling that Watson will be our starting QB for the next 12 years. And yes, anything we give up will be worth it
