I wouldn’t mind Fields. If the Packers can spend an early pick on a QB with Rodgers on the roster, why the heck can’t we? Same with the Eagles and Hurts...which essentially saved their tails.

49ers will take Fields. We will trade back if Sewell or Pitts are not there.

Factor in Boston (3.5) and Teddy (June 1 - 8 million) and we are sitting at the top of this list. Sign the rookies, pick up a few late additions, save the rest for injury signings.

Analytics that will shape Draft Strategy or my name isn't MHS831
Smithers replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d 100% understand Parsons, Surtain, Horn and even Samuel Jr (later if we trade back). I’d also understand Chase, Pitts, Slater, Darrisaw, and Sewel. Lots of options -
POV: You are Joe Brady. What do you want in the draft?

Chase or Pitts. If Darnold has an above average season, Brady is gone -
Hurney would have exercised the option and given Darnold a 4 year extension. Fitt is being very strategic, which is nice for a change.

Really love what Fitt is doing. If the defense can improve to even a top 12-15 unit (which it looks like we easily can do), we will be a fringe playoff team. If Darnold works out, we are in for sure.
-
Would love this. And remember - we can clear 8 million by designating Teddy a June 1 cut. We can afford this guy with some creative contract structuring (ie roster bonus do after June 1)

Fitt gonna draft Fields, then trade him 10 minutes later to NE for 3 first rounders -

Hard to be upset if pick Pitts. Deep OL class and not much drop off at LT in some of the second round guys. I honestly wouldn’t be mad at Pitts, Parsons, Surtain or either of the top two OL.

He’s great out of the backfield as a receiver...we should certainly look his way. Imagine both he and CMC lined up in the backfield with one going in motion and splitting out wide. I’d still be in favor of drafting a power back

Dude he got beat out by Mitch Trubisky

Nick Foles managed just fine

Several actually. First 3 are QBs, Atlanta takes Pitts, Cincy takes Chase, Miami goes WR, Detroit takes a CB -
He’s not a fan of this team - that’s why

As a Patriots fan you should be indifferent anyways

we were the only ones who wanted sam darnold lol
Smithers replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Several teams were interested at one point. But most teams have filled QB slots (Bears, WFT, Saints, Colts) or positioned themselves (49ers) to draft one early. This late in the game it’s no shock that we were the lone suitor left since we had held out for Watson. -
So then, what are we netting for Teddy and where’s he headed to?
Smithers replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
LOL. Not even close. -
Yep! Heck maybe even take a QB in round 4 or later. But I agree. We need a LT and CB1 badly. And DT depth. This trade allows us to swing on 3 potential day 1 starters again this year.

Watch us trade back with Denver now, and still grab Surtain while netting a second this year and next
