We are comfortable drafting a couple QBs at 6
Smithers replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
I found it interesting that Fitt said he notified Sam that we would be adding to the QB room this week. Then he went on to say veteran options wouldn’t be looked at until after the draft. So he is basically saying that we are adding a QB at some point in the draft. Of course that doesn’t mean in the first few rounds…could always be someone like Zappe, Strong or Purdy in the 4th. -

Could be - they need help at DE badly. -

We will trade back, picking up a 2nd rounder in the process, and also trade Robby for a 3rd. -
Darnold got a 28. Mayfield a 25. Jimmy G a 29.

Really wish we’d sign this kid

Discussion: The Panther Decision involving Baker
Smithers replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are gonna wait until just before the draft, force NO to waste all kinds of draft capital to trade with the Giants in front of us thinking we are going Qb, then we will trade a 6th for Baker and draft the top OT at 6. -

I feel like Erickson gets too much hate. He did his job well. He isn’t flashy - but he fielded the ball cleanly and managed to pick up 5-10 yards per return. I’ve seen much worse. -
We spend a lot of time here debating, arguing, strategizing and complaining about a team that has struggled to win the last several years. Today is a reminder that we as humans have won and can have eternal victory thanks to Jesus conquering sin, evil and death. Happy Easter everyone. I wish you all a great day full of happiness and blessings.

1st in cap space but the credit cards are maxed......why?
Smithers replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
We obviously created the cap space hoping to take on Watsons contract. That didn’t happen, so now the question is will we sign a couple more guys (Brown, Clowney) or simply roll that over next year -

Don’t worry - IF he had a son, there’s 32 teams who he would never play for- 100 replies

Todd McShay - Rhlue "won't be crying when the two sides part ways"

Ahhh - Todd McShay. The equipment manager turned tv personality. I’m not a Rhule fan, but at least Rhule played collegiate football and has won as a coach. McShay really shouldn’t be talking ish about anyone- 100 replies

Wild guess - he is looking to create a marketing brand/strategy that fits both the football and soccer side of things.
