Agreed honestly. to me he is the Will Levi’s of WRs. tremendous tools and upside. But still pretty raw. Not the greatest route runner. Most of his stuff is them moving him around and just getting him the ball.

But if they don’t think any of the QBs are worth the pick outside the guys going in the top 2 every year. And never want to trade up. At some point you need to start looking at your scouts. Because if that’s how’s it’s going to be you’re never going to fix the QB which just so happens to be the most important position in all of sports.

They said that the last 3 years (reports 2 years ago said they only liked Lawerence and Wilson) if you don’t like any of the guy over 3 seasons that they like enough to take and saddle up to develop as your franchise guy. Then maybe your standards are to high. you can’t sit around and say your never going to ask a girl out unless she’s miss America. Or your going to be staying single your whole entire life. You’re not going to be the 2 worst teams next year. So you’re not going to get Maye or Williams. So then what, stay in the hampster wheel and say maybe 2025? ”oh but maybe they can trade up.” well if those guys are really that special. Teams aren’t budging and taking the QB. You don’t think teams weren’t offering the world for Lawrence? I know they were for the Jets for Wilson. But the Jets traded Sam Darnold still on his rookie deal instead and took the cant Miss QB.

Actually he did mention them targeting Carr if cut.

Will Kunkle who covers the Panthers just said on WFNZ “I don’t think the Panthers draft a QB” “They don’t like any of the QBs that are expected to be available. And do not want to move up for one of these guys.”

Jarrett also was a composite 5* coming out of HS https://247sports.com/Player/Rakim-Jarrett-46039172/high-school-190305/ Diggs best season in college he has 848 yards and 6 TDs Jarretts was 829 yards and 5 TDs

Thing is. how many WRs do you hunk go rd1? He could still easily end up being WR5 in this class even running that. it is possible for him to fall out of rd q just because not that many teams will be taking WRs rd 1
-
Talking about Slot there is a guy who may be around rd4-5 who I’d love another Maryland prospect who his scouting report and every reminds me a lot of Diggs when he came out. Diggs https://www.nfl.com/prospects/stefon-diggs/32004449-4721-8895-fc23-d2bf4c921bd4 Rakim Jarrett https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Rakim-Jarrett-WR-Maryland

And that has been evident a lot this season. if a team shut down DJ. They shut down our passing attack. Our WRs struggled to get open or separation. And not even a threat. in this era of football, you need at-least 2 good WRs. Look what the difference it has made in Philly to add another big Key WR this offseason in AJ Brown to pair with Devonte Smith.

Another guy I really like and have mocked if I didn’t grab Rice is Zay Flowers. If you want explosive vertical threat. He’s probably the best in the country. On the smaller end 5’10-5’11. 170-185. but is an absolute playmaker. draftnetwork currently has his comp as Tyler Lockett https://thedraftnetwork.com/sr-prospect/zay-flowers-08a9c924-f9a2-4288-a242-e45d3d13c103/ https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Zay-Flowers-WR-BostonCollege

Let’s talk them in here. with Fitty’s comments about this being a sexy type draft even specifically mentioning a vertical pass catcher. I have a Strong suspicion we are going to take one early. Not rd 1 early but I’m pretty confident day 2 we will take 1. And probably more so on the earlier end. We are in definite need of anther explosive pass catcher. If the New Orleans game was enough proof. Our WRs have been just good enough in some games but outside of DJ Moore not a threat. Terrace Marshall has started to show some flashes. But you can’t bank on him just yet at being that stud WR2. Fortunately for us. This is a pretty good deep class at Playmaking WRs. I’ll omit Quentin Johnston, Jaxson Smith, and Jordan Addison as they will be long gone by our 2nd pick. First Guy I’m going to bring up (everyone feel free to bring in other names as well) is Rashee Rice. I’ve mocked him as of late. He has a late 1st rd grade by many. 6’2-6’3 and at-least over 206. He is expected to run in the late 4.3’s to lower 4.4’s. He will be at the Senior Bowl here in a few weeks. He plays in a more special spread oriented offense so he’ll have a little learning curb in the NFL. Which isn’t uncommon with modern day College players. Josh Downs is another one. He is a Alpha who is very aggressive going after the ball. Draftnetwork currently has his comp as Chris Godwin. https://thedraftnetwork.com/sr-prospect/rashee-rice-4c87001f-e709-40ee-8c80-f15416da75f6/ https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Rashee-Rice-WR-SMU https://withthefirstpick.com/2022/12/03/rashee-rice-nfl/

Here is the thing though. Having a guy you are actively developing will give you more leeway as a HC than actively going through retreads there 2 perfect examples of that this year in Matt Rhule and Frank Reich
-
-
HC: Frank Reich 1st rd Pick: Will Levis
-
There is a reason he is being fired. Hard pass.
-
.
-
@Verge what are your current thoughts on Levis? I think Bryce will go off the board at 1. And while I like Stroud. I wish we wouldn’t trade Up for a QB. Allowing us to use those 2nd-3rd rd pick on other needs.
