Injuries and lack of talent be damned when your running Gimik 2 DL formations while watching them run 6-10 yards a pop. Or having a safety follow around a top 3 WR in the NFL. Its not just “lack of talent”

We all know this was an arranged marriage. But it needs to end at the end of the year. And need full defensive overhaul. Offense has Not carried their end either today. But this defense just isn’t it. And before we blame them giving up or injuries. Kicking off the 1st drive today. We gave up runs of 16, 6, and 10 off the rip. The drive for Dallas stalled after a penalty and a nice CB blizt drawn up that Cooper Rush didn’t see. A few of the plays that’s opening drive, I noticed we had only 2 DL sets. I remember busting Phil Snow’s balls over some Gimik stuff. I feel Evero is getting a free pass just because Browns injury. When in reality, even with Brown in, it wouldn’t make a difference. we saw guys like Luuvu leave to play elsewhere for cheaper than we offered after he was reported to not want to play in this system. We saw him mismanage Chinn who is now thriving in Washington I believe. We have a top CB who we won’t even let him cover one of the best WRs in the league. This system is an overall mess.

Was it week 1 or 2 where Coker had a similar play where Bryce just airmailed it. Would’ve been a TD that we ended up punting instead.

Carter is 252, Ersery is 330+ Carter is actually bigger than Micah Paraons was coming out if you go back and look. Abdul is still too small if you’re going to put him on the line in a 4-3. But as a 3-4 OLB he is about the avg size for those guys in the league. It’s all dependent on the system the team is running depending on how you grade him.

If Evero is gone and we bring in a DC that runs more of a 4-3. instead of going for Carter at the top who would fit at 4-3 DE. They opt to strengthen the middle of the DL the same way we did the OL last offseason 2nd: they take advantage of the depth of this edge class. LT is a big athletic versatile beast who has probowl potential at 4-3 DE

If Evero is back 3-4 OLB in Carter would be a terror.as the stand up edge LB. Evero play’s a lot outside of his base and a lot of 3-3-5. With all safeties hitting FA. They get him this mismatch chess piece at the position

I’ll have to agree to disagree You don’t see him overrunning plays on film. Run defense, he’s pretty good against the run…..from that standup LB role. I’ll partially agree. He is plenty big enough for the 3-4 OLB role. He’s the same height and length as Micah Parsons coming out, but 7 pounds heavier. He’s like Parsons, played a LB role until this last year when he moved into more of an edge rusher. Now if we go to a 4-3. I 10000% agree, he is small, and won’t be able to hold up against the run. If we move schemes, I’ll agree he won’t be top 10 on my board. Now to the Brian Burns comp. That’s James Pierce Jr. same size frame, etc. gets pressures, no sacks. Liability in the run game

This is one of those needs that no one is talking about. And IF Evero is back. This position is a massive massive piece to his defense in the 3-3-5 Xavier Woods, Fuller, Sam Franklin, and Nick Scott are hitting FA. So essentially our entire 2 deep at both safety spots. There are a couple guys in this draft I’m keeping an eye on as potential targets on day 2 first one is right by down the road at a program that we’ve become familiar with Nick Emmanwori is a freak athlete mismatch nightmare. He’s primarily going to be a standup 3-4 OLB. Doesn’t have the build or frame to stand up as a full time 4-3 DE. Athletic as fug with a motor. His get off and acceleration for someone his size is eye popping.. He is more than worth a top 5 pick and probably the top player not named Travis Hunter IF you’re running 3-4 system. If not, he’ll be lower down some teams board due to fit.

The Wonnum that was in Minnesota wouldnt even be a starter in over 70% of the league. and he is only making 2.5 mil less than what Chubba will be making on this new extension

You realize what the money we paid him would get you on Defense? maybe another DJ Wonnum. I’ll take a RB playing at high level over that. Especially if you intend to use him.

He’s the 9th highest paid RB in the league and he’s been playing like a top 5 RB
