  1. Love the Daryl Williams blurb (which I expected the day we drafted him) Gettleman is building a machine. He's already has that winning attitude built in the locker room winning the NFCS back to back seasons. He's locked up the core players and brought in some serious young talent. This team is still more talented than last year, strengthening the OL even more. Funch and Brown getting the reps under their belts this season will make next year deadly when Benjamin coming back.
  2. He has that attitude that Norwell has. Something you can't teach. Look at Jonathon Martin, guy has all the ability but was soft. Norwell was said to not have some of the ability but he picked stuff up right quick and had that attitude. williams only played one game at LT because Oklahoma had another talented OT on he otherwise in addition to his "lack of athletic ability". That one game was against Bama against one of the top Defensea in the nation with one of the top pass rushes. And he did work that game.
  3. Remember him playing LT vs Bama in the sugar bowl the other year. And completely killed Bamas pass rush.
  4. The thought of this lined up beside Trai on the right side with Lee Ward leading Stewie, Fozzy, or Tolbert through the massive hole has me all sorts of giddy!!!
  5. It no coincidence how double trouble's #'s went down once we lost Hoover. I'm all for Tolbert being a backup FB for those H-back roles and then be part of a RB trio the way the Giants had with Jacobs, ward, and Bradshaw. How nasty would it be with Tolbert running behind Lee on the goal line with Turner and Williams on the right side with Benjamin and Funch lined up wide for the threat of content fades.
  6. Exactly Tolbert is not a good lead blocker. Ward is what we need as a FB. Again no coincidence how our rushing went when we lost lead blocker like Hoover. We still have a spot for Tolbert, he is still a weapon at HB/FB in 3rd and long. Also could be in the RB rotation. Remember those giants teams we are trying to model? They had a good trio including a massive Jacobs. Tolbert running behind Lee through the holes Turner and possibly Williams will open will be dangerous. We want to be a physical team, well we sure as hell can be. We already know what Tolbert can do to DBs at a full head of steam http://youtu.be/bnIibC_wlwQ I think he could be a nice compliment running behind Lee at RB rotation. We could tear some teams up and wear them down. This is a physical mans games and we sure as heck are building a physical team
  7. This is exactly what we need for our offense. I Love Tolbert but he just doesn't fit the FB role for us. As noted he is more of a H-Back. Does that mean we should get rid of him, no! He is still a good player and can still play the HB/FB on 3rd and longs. And would be perfect as a short yardage RB ( yes Stewart is big and breaks tackles but the less shots in those scenarios, Tolbert played RB in short yardage for the Chargers as well) But a guy like Ward needs to be our FB pretty much every down but 3rd and long situations. I don't think it's much of a coincidence how smash and dash started to decline once Hoover hung it up. We need that bulldozer type blocker leading the way for our RB. Much like Hoover, and much like a for Giant (who gettleman likes to mold is like) Madison Hedgecock.
  8. The Nola game in 2013. Was there. Never really felt the Bank shake like that. It poured rain and instead of the fans running for cover it fuel the fire and made it louder. The big drive with the Ginn catch over the middle and the Hixon catch.
  9. The fact that we now have 2 Giants that can do this http://youtu.be/r2eINBeVkyA It is going to put a Lot of pressure on defenses. It's going to be very tough for them to bring any safety in the box for run support in addition to Olson taking a LB away. If Williams and Turner can blast open some holes in the run game, our offense is going to be a well oiled machine.
  10. Again sounds much like a former player Gettleman brought to the Giants Plaxico Burress 6'5 230 from Michigan State ran a high 4.7 the ran a 4.47 later
  11. Williams was a monster in the sugar bowl vs Alabama 2 years ago on the Left side. Kid is going to be a helluva RT for us. Otah type road grader also with just enough skills to be a god pass blocker from the right side. HUGE get.
  12. Kid has potential for LT but is a big Mauling Otah style RT. seen some have him as high as mid 2nd
  13. Low of 4.47 at his pro day. High of 4.7 at combine Reminds me a lot like this guy http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=263&draftyear=2000&genpos=WR
  14. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=263&draftyear=2000&genpos=WR Building up like the Giants SuperBowl teams
  15. Reminds me of a young Plaxico from the Giants. Pound the rock lob it up to the twin towers. Then destroy some teams with our front 7 D
  16. I can dig this. Twin towers on the outside (when Cam is off he throws high) then Ginn in the slot to blow the lid off
  17. Has there been an interview anywhere from him since he's been drafted?
  18. Actually I believe Smith has the hands and concentration. The route running is the Huge difference. As you heard Gettleman mention OBJ was one of the best route runners he's seen. while Smith, many have mentioned his route running as a weakness and really didn't have to run a wide range route tree at Ohio state.
  19. Really starting to Love the idea of getting Devin Smith in the 2nd (even if having to move up a little in the round to grab him). Looking at his measurables and film, he is a raw OBJ (just doesn't have OBJ's elite route running). We have the coaches to really teach these kids. OBJ: 5'11 198 32 3/4 arms 10" hands 4.43 40 7 bp reps 38.5 vert 6.69 3 cone Devin Smith 6'0 196 31" arms 9" hands 4.42 40 10 bp reps 39"vert 6.83 3 cone http://youtu.be/pDEm16yRI1E
  20. Going to try to head up that way if I don't work at all that weekend!
  21. Duuuuke! If the kid could've stayed healthy the last 2 years. He'd be the most hype prospect coming out of the U this year
  22. Pretty much. Live down in Miami area. Many Friends/neighbors/co workers who are Canes fans, Season ticket holders, Alums, Students etc. And doesn't even seem like they are even quite the homers over this as some on here. The Kid is a 5'9 Ted Ginn. Sounds like he had a good showing at his pro day. But the game isn't played in shorts or 7 on 7 type passing drills. Will be highly upset if we take him in the 2nd round or possibly even 3rd.
