While this whole fan base is Freaking out watching Fields and Lance tear it up in their Pre Season debut. No lie, have looked good! but let’s all take a deep breathe and take a step back. let’s turn the clock back a few years. The Panthers current QB 1 (who is still younger than 2020 top pick Joe Burrow) but the same things were being said about Sam as Fields and Lance tonight. People freaking out how good he was in his debut. Talking about his tools, upside, poise, etc etc etc. let’s see what Sam can do with this staff first (as long as the OL doesn’t get him killed)

Horn is a rookie. He has looked good in Practice but he is still a rookie. And rookie CBs can still be tough (see Okudah last year in Detroit) Donte hasn’t played a full season since when? Bouye is with a new team. Missing camp with this new team. And will be suspended the 1st 4 games of the season. Taylor is a 5th rd rookie Pride has been alright. has Oliver even shown anything that you’d trust him to play significant time? In 3 CB sets. If Donte goes down with a Toe. You feel that good with Horn, Pride and Taylor on the field?

Also to add on top. When is the last time Donte Jackson put together a fully healthy season? Bouye’s issue. One stubbed toe to Donte and we’re looking at Troy Pride and the rookie as our starting CB

Have you seen the LT FA availability market. It’s not that much better. Okung is probably the best available .

Honestly don’t see any LT’s that we could pickup that could make an impact. with Shaq and Perryman being dinged up already. LB I’d look hard at. I know KJ Wright talked to the Raiders yesterday. But he’d be a good fit and Fitty knows him well coming from Seattle also CB. Bouye missing the next few weeks with a new team here then suspended the first few weeks of the season

This is a position I’ve hardly heard anyone mention this far through camp. Other than I believe @Zod mentioning Shi struggling to field punts on of the 1st days. We have struggled here for several years as well. Cooper was 16th in the NFL last year for us in PR avg with 5.8 yards per return i don’t see CMC, DJ, Marshall, Robby, etc returning it. So who will be the guy? If Shi is struggling to field the kicks, maybe not him David Moore?

This i’ve always said he’s a H-Back (which he played at ND). can confuse people sometimes because get motioned into the backfield to block quite often alao note. There were people who compared him to Kittle. Kittle played the same role at Iowa that Tremble did at Notre Dame. The H-back

Yes, sniffed him out yesterday. He played and disguised himself better this time. But caught him fumbling in the Hornets board yesterday

Mark it down. Tremble will be the best blocking (non OL) we’ve had since Brad Hoover. and you’ll see him make an impact this year.

The DK Metcalf comp I don’t get. the comp I’m leaning more and more towards the more I watch him at camp. Marques Colston. The former Saint, Big Body slot WR. Remember our offense under Brady will look a lot like The Saints.

Bet he backs up Reddick this year at that rush LB spot. remember, this is just year 2 for him as he sat out last year. And he was initially seen as a high upside developmental guy

Think Robby knows this as well. He had a good night last yesterday. overall, it’s refreshing to see 3 SOLID WRs in a offense where we be running a lot of 3 WR sets

He really glowed about the 2 kids we drafted last night he really really talked up Shi Smith as well. “He was a 6th rd pick but going make at least a 3rd rd impact.” He seemed to be drooling on Shi most of the broadcast.

Still to early. But 2 names I’ve heard from people that I’m going to keep my eye on is the kid at Bama and Washington’s LT

Smitty did not hold back on his thoughts on Tahir Whitehead on the broadcast tonight. I put this quote in the camp thread but figured I’d create one on this as well. Smitty took several other jabs at Tahir as well. Smitty is an analysts now so he will tell it how it is with a little less bias view. Think Carter or Perryman in there full time is going to be a Huge upgrade for our D.
