  1. BPA all the way; make strengths stronger. Would prefer a pass rusher/LB, but fill those holes somewhere else. In the draft, get the best player.
  2. Twitter world with some reliable sources like Josh Norris
  3. The 5th Year reportedly is being picked up. Which, they were going to do. Is Bryce the future? Still very doubtful if not an outright no. But the 5th year option won't break the bank, he's an expensive backup if nothing else if we find a guy. If/when he's playing here under the 5th year, he'll be paid as like the 22nd QB in the league. That's...fine.
  4. Sadly I think the team views Wallace as the guy, and despite help from TD and Luke, he's barely taken a step. Need to upgrade the position in the worst way, and hope he can develop into a decent 2nd guy.
  5. Yep, unless we're in a win and in situation in Week 18, I don't see any reason for Hunt to come back.
  6. Said it before, but even if you have an average LT...you pay him and just deal with it because the downside is so much worse. If you have a good LT? You pay him Top 5 money, fans panic at first because of the number, but then a couple years later it's back to being a bargain. OL offseason - Extend Icky. Re-sign Cade. Draft a couple guys, preparing for the departures of Moton/Hunt/Lewis over the next couple of seasons due to age or cap.
  7. I still don't think there's any chance we make it deep down, but pre-season all I wanted was to be in the "in the hunt" graphic this time of year. Successful year, and what many here (myself included) thought was still a very flawed roster, has a chance to have a winning season. It's still a flawed roster, and we dropped games we should've won, won games we should've lost, but for the first time in a long time I'm happy watching Panthers football in December. Whatta world.
  8. Underrated part of all of this. Feel like it was Kaye that reported that NOBODY wanted to touch this job, so we had to go with someone not really even getting interviews/hire someone too early. A. Tepper is dumb to have not listened to Harbaugh if it's true he wanted to be here, since that was the only name I remember being *potentially* tied to us B. You can cycle through QBs every single year. You can't do that with coaches and expect to hire anybody worth a poo. Even if Canales sucks, optically we almost have to give him 3 years minimum to prove we're a serious team for once and not scare anyone else off.
  9. He's a career backup. Can come in and win you a game...but he's likely the 30th best starter in the league. The Atlanta game was a perfect storm and a mirage. He played amazing...but so did Matt Flynn when he threw for 480 yards in a game once upon a time. In a perfect world he's traded. In the next perfect more likely world, he's our backup next season after losing a camp battle and the team having the balls to bench him. Let him play out his contract on the sideline, and pray somebody trades for him after an injury next year.
  10. I'll still believe it when I see it as far as them moving on (next year). He'll be here to play out his contract unless some needy team tricks themselves into trading for him, but you cannot pick up the 5th year option. I think next year is Bryce, FA/vet acquisition, and a rookie. It should be an open competition in camp and preseason, and let the chips fall where they may. I know Jameis gets a lot of hate (justifiably) for his turnovers and dumb decisions, but we 1000% are a better team with him at QB right now...and even next year. Give me that goober and our record isn't any worse, and is likely better.
  11. Even if we lose, a good Bryce game will give hope for the rest of the schedule. Bad Bryce comes back, and pack it in. The Rams are known to have a weird game or two a year, but can't see us beating them. Seahawks and JSN...oof. But, Darnold might Darnold. Maybe Bryce and Canales will be lights out being back in California, this is maybe our "easiest" NFC West game remaining. At this point, we need to beat the Saints and Bucs twice to get to 9-8 and hope that's enough. Beating San Fran tonight would be beautiful and give a little wiggle room.
  12. We're going to get a nice old-school NFC South division winner at 8 games.
  13. I don't think the Clippers have anything to make a trade work on their own, but LaMelo to LA would be nice for all parties involved. I still think the answer is getting Brooklyn to bite. Nic Claxton and filler for LaMelo. Nets get a "star", Hornets get a good big man and something else...as well as off the contract. The Nets will likely try and flip MPJ at some point, who I wouldn't want, but a nice 3 team trade could help everyone solve some problems. LaMelo to Brooklyn, Nic Claxton and Kuminga to Charlotte, MPJ to GSW...toss in filler wherever.
  14. We've got another viral Panthers song The dab is back Jags Week 1, Ohio State National Title, JLo got divorced... Nature is healing, it's Super Bowl time
  15. LaMelo to Brooklyn for Nic Claxton, Drake Powell, and a pick. Who says no?
  16. Boozer may end up going higher in the draft, but agree about Caleb Wilson. Give me that dude, think he's going to translate very well and has the attitude I want on a young team. My perfect world as of now... Trade anything not bolted down as far as vet's go. Sexton is on an expiring and would be an easy flip. Bridges, just get him somewhere else. One year left on a low $20 mil deal should be an easy trade...but the apron for many teams could haunt us. LaMelo is the issue. Likely would have to trade our problem to someone else for their problem (Ja, Zion, Zach Lavine) to make contracts somewhat match up. I want to build around last year's draft class, get as many bites at this draft class as possible, etc. If we get lucky and get #1 or #2, wonderful. If not, get into the top 5 or so and grab Caleb Wilson.
  17. Lottery, draft talk, etc... But this upcoming draft is loaded. I'd be trying to get as many bites at the apple as possible. Bridges and LaMelo, ship them out. Let Brandon Miller, this year's rookie class, and hopefully a stud or two next year try to form their own little mini-Thunder.
  18. Geno and Mac Jones are going to be options 1 and 2 more than likely, so do agree with that.
  19. Ding ding ding. He either reads it late, doesn't trust himself to throw with anticipation, or flat out doesn't trust himself to throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield. At the end of the day, throw it up to TMac and let him draw a flag or make a play. I'd rather see a 20+ yard arm punt than being scared on 3rd down. Said it in one of the previous BY threads, but his "super power" of being a high processor, if true, is his biggest enemy IMO. He gets so far in his head he doesn't trust himself to just play. He played loose at the end of last year and the return was better. Now he's playing not to lose and is scared to death he's going to mess up...leading to messing up on top of his deficiencies already.
  20. Also on Canales in general, don't feel like he's the type of coach who's going to mother fug somebody in private. And in the NFL...college...high school...that's a problem. The clip went viral of Rivera tearing the team a new one in the locker room a few weeks ago, but you have to have that in you. Morgan can't preach bringing in "dawgs" if our HC is a choir boy on the sideline clapping and saying yes sir Mr. Ref. Not saying he needs to be Dan Campbell...but he can't be milquetoast Disney sports movie guy 100% of the time
  21. 21 year old rookie might already be one of our best leaders. DB and Horn are better and have the respect, but love Scourton so far.
  22. With the Giants firing Daboll, wonder if they'd move Dart. 98% no, but maybe the new hire will want his own QB.... Worth an offseason call at least.
  23. XL, Coker, Horn, and a heavy dose of TE's should still be fine to catch 11 Bryce passes
  24. I think we steal one of the 49ers, Rams, Seahawks trio. *Should beat NO twice. Lose to Atlanta, and then hope to steal one from TB.
