Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
PanthersNCSU replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. I know there was some conditioning conversations in the offseason/early in the year, but he's grown and proven it. Throw him 3-4 years at 5-6 million per right now and see what he says. Essentially Tet's contract equivalent right now. He gets life changing money after coming out as a UDFA, and is up for another contract when he's 28 giving him another shot to cash in.- 91 replies

All year long it reminded me of Washington last year. Constantly going for it (and getting it) on 4th down. It worked...until it didn't this year and Jayden was hurt. Washington got exposed for being a bad team that got lucky this year. That...does not make me feel good going into next year unless we see some changes.

Mike Tomlin stepping down as HC of the Steelers
PanthersNCSU replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
Steelers still have his rights. Anybody that wants Tomlin, has to trade for him. -
2026 should be all about continuing to add talent, no matter the position, and winning the division. Unless something magical happens, we're still not winning the SB next year. 2027...IF we hit on another good draft, all bets are off. At that point, tell the Bengals to name their Burrow price. Herbert, tired of getting beat up in LA? Trade up for a QB in the deep 2027 class. Whatever it takes...but this roster is still being built in 2026, to drop the QB in in 2027. If we feel good about where we're at going into the 2027 season, take whatever QB swing you need to.

Dan Morgan: Panthers will pickup BY’s 5th year.
PanthersNCSU replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
5th Year Option is good business Hear out what BY wants on an extension, but that's all the talks that should be had. Don't dare give him an extension, and hope he magically turns into the MVP and then re-set the market for all I care. 5th year, fine. Extension? No shot. -
2026 Panthers Free Agents… who you keeping and who can walk
PanthersNCSU replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nobody on this list will cost that much, and I'd like to see them all retained. Some guys like Rozeboom can probably get more elsewhere, but offer him a cheap 1 year deal and let him decide. A lot of those guys are minimum contracts and depth, where they belong. Priority number 1 is re-signing every bit of OL depth we have after Ickey's injury. I *think* all of those guys could be had for cheap enough. Nijman might be the most expensive at this point since teams are always desperate for a LT. Give him a "big" number on 1 year if you have to. Coker, re-sign now for a 2-3 year deal with decent money. If he's healthy next year, I'd expect him to put up solid #2 numbers and become more and more expensive. If Evero is here, Nick Scott will be here. -
Yosh, Christensen, and a draft pick of some sort should be the plan at LT. Then pray our OL got all of their injuries out this year.

Rams at Panthers predictions for Saturday
PanthersNCSU replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's one thing that drives me insane, and speaks to the conservative nature of Bryce and Canales. You drafted TMac for a reason...toss it deep in those scenarios and maybe draw a flag or your volleyball player makes the play. It's an arm punt if nothing else, oh well. The 20% chance the play works is worth more to me than 10-15 yards of field position a lot of the time. -
Very excited to see what TMac and Coker do in 2027 with CJ Bailey at QB

Rams at Panthers predictions for Saturday
PanthersNCSU replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think we get blown out, but whatever...house money right now. I just *hope* Canales and Bryce throw the kitchen sink at them. Play smart, obviously, but we're going to need to get weird and lucky to pull off the upset. Conservative check downs won't win this game. -
True, Harbaugh would've been awesome if those reports are true. But, Tepper.
-
I truly think we *had* to hire a Canales. Nobody except a nobody wanted this job after the way things unfolded since Tepper took over. I'd have offered Vrabel a blank check and said congrats, you'll stay the highest paid coach in NFL every year. But I still don't think he would've taken it with the stank we had/have on this franchise.

DB was actually #3 in the fan vote, for all those hating the fan vote. He got dropped because of player and coach voting.
-
Payton Wilson. Won the Butkus and the Bednarik. Probably a 1st rounder if not for the medicals, but we didn't want to roll the dice I guess.
-
He's a great backup...which is hopefully where he'll be in 2026. Unfortunately, I think the staff sees more in him than everyone else. Hope I'm wrong and Morgan upgrades the position, but he seems like an Evero guy despite the fact better LBs were on the board including Dan Morgan's clone.

This season only ends one way... We win this Sunday. Bryce is decent. We take back 1st place... Only to then get our brakes blown off in the last two weeks.
-
This is something I've never understood with most teams. The Ravens, 49ers, etc. for years used a FB, and did it well. I know there aren't many Kyle Juszcyks out there, but... When you have a tiny little QB and want to run the ball? I think a FB is worth a roster spot. Or, line up Tremble or Evans at FB. Or Derrick Brown for that matter. Let a massive human being use momentum to get a foot.
-
He hasn't earned it, but I think a Bryce deal would look similar to the one Baker signed last (3 years, $100 million). I'm sure his agent would balk at that, and some team may trick themselves into more...but that's the top end IMO. As for the OL, the draft is about to be REAL important for the big boys. Our backups have injury issues, and we're a year away from some decisions coming up on Lewis/Hunt/Moton as to whether to cut and save money or restructure. Wouldn't be mad seeing us draft a Center, OT, and OG in the first few rounds over the next 2 drafts.

Dane Brugler’s panthers mock pick

BPA all the way; make strengths stronger. Would prefer a pass rusher/LB, but fill those holes somewhere else. In the draft, get the best player. -

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)
PanthersNCSU replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
The 5th Year reportedly is being picked up. Which, they were going to do. Is Bryce the future? Still very doubtful if not an outright no. But the 5th year option won't break the bank, he's an expensive backup if nothing else if we find a guy. If/when he's playing here under the 5th year, he'll be paid as like the 22nd QB in the league. That's...fine.
