I'm probably way off base, but Cooper's draft profile reminds me too much of XL, at least the weaknesses. KC I could understand a "little" since he's different than what we have. But Cooper just seems like more of the same IMO. Weaknesses Inefficient getting in and out of intermediate breaks. Average contested-catch success for his physical profile. Needs quicker recognition and adjustment on underthrows. Acceleration out of the stem is average. Disappointing effort and physicality when asked to run block.

That too. He's already had more chances than most young QBs, but I think they're going to do anything possible to make Bryce the guy as opposed to finding another one. I hope it works, but we're 95% sure that's a square peg in round hole experiment at this point unless he has a Darnold trajectory and a killer team around him.

Kaye said it in a roundabout way, but I think that having all of our offensive decision makers being former WR coaches hurts us here as well. XL - we can fix him! Tet - too good to pass up!, but, also good pick KC - hey we need that guy too to complete things! All the while, the most important and 2nd most important part of the offense (QB and OL) will get ignored. We have an aging OT, one who may never start again, and one on a one year deal. We have a pair of aging and EXPENSIVE OGs. And currently, no future at C. They're probably thinking Round 3+ on some of these guys, but ehhh dicey game to be playing for anything other than depth.

Also just because, KC's prospect overview below. Sure sounds like the WR Dave wants IMO. He's not a deep ball guy, but he's your YAC guy who hopefully frees things up for TMac. Smokescreen season, but wouldn't surprise me if with Walker signed now, and them probably (and stupidly) hoping for Ickey's miraculous comeback, we're actually thinking about WR at 19. Not the position I'd want, and waiting until Day 3 to draft all of our big boys could bite us in the ass, but think we might be serious about WR at 19 and ILB in the 2nd. Overview Concepcion offers immediate burst and separation into space. He’s elusive in beating press and getting into breaks with minimum damage from handsy coverage. While he has a one-speed approach, he can snap off routes with alarming suddenness, making him extremely difficult to match at leveraged break points. He’s instinctive against zone. He’s also a nightmare for man coverage on choice routes and near the goal line. He’s quicker than fast, with more value on utility throws utilizing run after catch. Concepcion’s ability to quickly uncover should be very appealing to teams with spotty protection and a young quarterback.

KC Concepcion, come on down if that's the case. Only offensive skill guy we've met with in that area of the draft I think. Probably looking at him as being our version of Shaheed on Seattle with his special teams abilities. Which, drafting a WR 3 and punt returner at 19? Meh.

Have we even met with Sadiq? Still time, but can't imagine we take a guy we haven't met with. The idea of him is great and could do great things for the offense, IF, Idzik and Canales use him. I just have a hard time with our coaching staff and their previous stops all of a sudden caring about using a TE as a focal point.

Bad mock is bad, but frankly it's not a bad idea to take Ioane at 19 if he's there IMO. Is it the position I want? No. Sexy? No. But he's likely the better player than anyone else sitting there. It's not like we're taking a punter in the 1st, but if you feel like you're getting an All-Pro guy over the 3rd best WR you hope works? Yeah, give me the All-Pro. It would give us depth, flexibility, and potentially the best possible replacement to shed Hunt's contract ASAP.

Not to mention this has likely been in the works....for a while. State had a flawed roster this year and the coaching was bad on top of it. But a lot of dots are connected to this discussion with LSU going back to February, if not before, and players likely knowing he's gone. Again, flawed roster and bad coaching, but State's cratering to end the season? Might make a little sense when the coach starts phoning it in and the players don't care anymore. Wade's a POS and I got sucked into wanting him last year. Now? I'm pulling for Carolina anytime they play LSU.

If we can't trade down from 19, I think Dan is trading up in the 2nd for one of the LBs. I don't see him sitting at 51 and hoping Rodriguez or Hill falls with the hard-on he (and most of us) have for them.

Wade's a POS, but also partially on State. You get in bed with a whore, don't be surprised when they do whore things.

Only hate is Phillips's contract. While then also saying, well, it's actually only 2 years 60 million. So the one area of hate...is actually not even bad. But, 17th. Sure.

Insanely good contract on Walker. Don't know how or why, but damn. As weird as it is, maybe we're becoming an okay destination for FAs again.

I still think the ILB group in round 2 will be too good to pass up and we need to grab one there, but agreed on OT and DL being the biggest needs/should almost always be our biggest needs when it comes to the draft. Gettleman screwed a lot up and couldn't pick talent worth a damn, but philosophically he was always right. Hog Mollies win games.

I would do unspeakable things for this draft. I think that's 5 contributors next season, and know nothing about TJ Hall, but fine by me.

Clemson kid is supposedly a first round possibility now for someone. There's going to be someone at 19 we like I think, just a matter of is he the highest rated on our board, could we trade down and get him, etc.

Can't imagine Brady going anywhere else, unless a team is truly desperate. Should be a no-brainer move for both sides here.

Contract may tell the story on whether or not we have plans for him to make the team, but we're quickly losing space in the #4/5 WR spot. XL *should* be the #3. But he's just as likely to be shipped out if Dan can give up on him. Might already be out the door come draft day. Horn *should* make the team, but I don't know if the staff actually values him. I'd be pissed if they gave up on him this quick, but dunno. Moore and Tremayne just seem like locks based on the coaching staff, special teams, etc. Without throwing a draft pick or UDFA camp stud into the mix, I think XL, Horn, and Metchie are fighting for the last roster spot/jersey on game days.

Just because we signed Jaelan Phillips, does not mean we don't still need Edge help IMO. Same with Lloyd at LB. First and foremost, Left Tackle is the biggest glaring need on this team in the worst way. After that, WRs and TEs are cool and all, but I want to load up the front 7 as much as humanly possible and scare opposing QBs more than anything.

Yeah what X-Clown said. He's an athletic freak, who you just bank on never playing with a decent QB and system. Entering the age range we tend to like going after, *cheaper* than the other FAs possibly. I like Tremble more than most, but I think Chig is an upgrade to all 3 guys we currently have. In my perfect world, Tremble, Chig, and Evans are our 3 TEs, but, Tremble's cap number is blah.

Hoping for Chig as the TE signing. N'joku and Goedert are more proven and names, but give me the guy entering his prime that hasn't missed a game over the older guys with better stats but injury history.

Sign Nijman back, or a LT in general. Draft Monroe Freeling in Rd 1. Extreme best case he's the starter at LT. Worst case he's backing up LT and RT while eventually taking over one of those spots in 2027. One of the LBs in Rd 2 Draft a center in Rd 3, and/or Pat Coogan on Day 3. Superb Owl
