  1. Nah, he wasn’t even the clear cut number one to our own head coach and QB coach that year.
  2. Everyone needs to read back through this thread so we know who not to listen to moving forward. A lot of these names haven’t been around as much which tells me they know it.
  3. Johnson was throwing his hands up in Fall Camp. There was one deep flag route that Bryce completed, but it took Johnson to the sideline and it should’ve gone 20 yards further to the pylon. Johnson took the ball, sort of shook it and shook his head and jogged back. Predictably, the board and Twitter saw that throw as a positive but Johnson’s body language told me he had already had enough.
  4. Well, expectations were right for many of us. And this is the comment that got me banned for a week.
  5. Bro, you don’t have to vent to Tepper for Tepper to see it. If Tepper reads these boards, he saw that posted during the game. I made a thread that it wasn’t fair to the other 52 guys putting their body on the line for this garbage.
  6. You can see Adam and Diontae’s body language after each route. Even after Diontae catches the ball he throws his hands up in the air.
  7. The offense is literally only missing a quarterback. The defense is lacking talent but we have one hole on offense right now and I think Dalton will prove that this weekend.
  8. Except Bryce has no comparison to Baker or Sam. Both showed that they could play, and play well. Baker specifically set the record for touchdowns thrown by a rookie at the time. So that isn’t really applicable here. The best message comes from Kurt when he says that QB’s in college are effectively given one read and a scramble drill. That was Bryce at Alabama and that was my issue with him. People compared it to Mahomes and I was thinking it was more like Armanti Edwards, except Edwards would go through progressions in the pocket in college and showed that at Michigan in only his sophomore year.
  9. The Panthers have plenty of talent on offense. The one glaring hole is at quarterback. Even having someone like Gardner Minshew, Brissett, or Justin Fields would see the team being competitive.
  10. That’s UGA against almost anyone. Hurray mini-NFL model they are following. To hell with the other thousands of student athletes.
  11. You just roll coverage man. We play a lot of zone defense so it’s not incredibly hard to bracket a tight end. They may get their yards but you stop them from “taking over” the game. Minshew isn’t a threat to run so you’re good.
  12. But very hard to understand. If there weren’t subtitles I wouldn’t understand 66.6% of what he’s saying. Not that that’s a bad thing. Seems like a good, down to earth dude who will do just fine when he’s playing days are done.
  13. Xavier is getting plenty of play with Johnson on the team. You keep a guy like Johnson on the team because you will have another rookie next year.
  14. Most NFL players are three stars actually. That’s just a function of the parabolic curve though.
  15. He’s shell shocked? He’s been playing like this since Week 1 of 2023.
  16. We have one of the best offensive lines in the league, we have two high draft picks, two good running backs, a high draft pick tight end, a coach picked specifically for Bryce. Chase Daniels did a breakdown. Bryce just doesn’t know where to go with the ball. He doesn’t understand protections, he doesn’t understand his progressions based on protections, and he can’t read defenses pre or post snap.
  17. I think Dalton will play well. 300 yards and 3 touchdowns is asking a lot but I think his performance is going to make a lot of people realize just how far behind Bryce is.
  18. The media coverage of this is typical and almost certainly related to a few traits of Bryce’s: 1. He went to Alabama 2. Everyone said that he was a wunderkind and could overcome every physical limitation if he just put his mind to it. This is an epitome of the lie adults told kids throughout the 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s which is that you can overcome any obstacle, no matter your physical limitations. They wanted this to be true so badly but it turns out, sometimes effort and desire aren’t enough. 3. They say the Panthers didn’t put pieces around him. Bryce has a Top 5 offensive line in front of him right now, he has Diontae Johnson, he has Theilen, two high draft pick receivers, Miles Sanders and Chubba Hubbard, a head coach hired specifically for him, yet he’s been worse. I poo on the Panthers organizationally as much as the next person, but there is not a lack of talent on offense as they make it seem. It is set-up that a young QB could thrive here, and should thrive. 4.The Panthers PR strategy is simple right now and that is just to stay quiet. The time for talking is after the year when we trade him. Then you can detail what is/was wrong.
  19. A back-up? That’s a bold prediction. I think he’s Josh Rosen.
  20. Hire some Democrat operatives. They are great at digging things up that they typically hide for people.
  21. It was probably Tepper suggesting Young keep playing. The decision to bench him likely came from Canales with the okay from Tepper, not the other way around.
  22. We will win this weekend, I do know that. Everyone will turn around and say “where has this Andy Dalton been”? People seem to forget what the Bengals were before Dalton got there. His presence, even if he couldn’t get them over the hump to the AFC Chanpionship, helped revive that Franchise and completely change the culture of the place. They expect to win, thanks in large part to what Andy Dalton did and what Joe Burrow is doing now. Give the man a shot.
