Well, time to see if his success was due to Jimmy's and Joe's or X's and O's.

Wr have a Rookie 3rd rounder that we traded up to get. He also didn't have a real off-season last year because we were trying to get a short-term fix to a long-term problem. Giving him 10 snaps per practice at training camp and then throwing him in for a full two quarters in preseason was a massive problem and it was Rhule's fault. With an actual NFL staff, I'll be excited to see what Corral can do, given proper opportunities. Corral fits exactly what Reich wants so that may be part of what enticed him to come here. Ask yourself this, what would Corral have looked like in San Fransisco? I can't help but believe he would've had quite a bit of success as well. Maybe especially so due to his mobility and quick release. People are sleeping on this dude for absolutely no reason. They saw the preseason games and hardly anyone remembers how Rhule was diving up reps to QB's. Dude has some elite physical traits and appears to have the leadership factor, given the opportunity. There is a lot to like.

Our offense could be very attractive if my Mock Drafts work out. Anthony Richardson/trade down and get O'Cyrus Torrance, Dalton Kincaid, Zach Charbonnet, Mims... With Reich's system fitting Corral well, I'd be will to go with the trade down and grab the best OG, RB, TE, and one of the more underrated receivers. But...im not drafting so none of that poo is going to happen. We are going to mortgage our future for a middling QB and it's going to be the same dog and pony show for the next five years. My picks sees us add potential Pro Bowl guys at important offensive positions. There are some good Day 3 candidates at edge rusher, corner, and safety. And if you don't like the Kincaid pick you could likely get Will Mallory in the 5th round (Greg Olsen incarnate in my opinion).

It would be a promotion considering he was the secondary coach last year coming in. They could have at least discussed the option as DC considering the last time the Panthers were in the playoffs was with Wilks as DC.

Draft Simulator (Lets see What You Got)

But for what? This year's 1st, next year's 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 2025 1st? Seriously, just draft Anthony Richardson if that's what it's going to cost. Or even trade down a few picks, still get Richardson, pick up another 2nd, draft receiver, tight end, and maybe Charbonnet at running back (6'1 225 4.45 40) and re-sign Foreman. Draft Mims in the 4th. LSU CB Rick's in the 3rd. -

Would be good but Anderson and Gibbs aren't falling that far. -

Will Mallory would absolutely be worth a flyer late. He's not an elite athlete but neither was Greg Olsen. -
The QB School : Breaking down AR and Levis
CPcavedweller replied to Your GFs favorite huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
He is more like Josh Allen. The Cam comparison literally only comes from them being black and I wish people would look more at things like Arm strength, throwing motion, movement, fluidity, etc. He is like Cam in that he can run. But he's more like Allen in how he runs, how he throws, the reads he's making, etc. I don't want another Cam who was slow to read defenses every year but, and even in, 2015. Love the guy and what he did but I'd rather have an Allen type such as Richardson than a Cam type. -

He was a 1st round pick before 2022 happened. Not sure I understand why. -

Well, you and I should be friends. Torrance, Kincaid, and Mims are a must now. Or just Kincaid and Mims. -

Sort of like this better. 22. O'Cyrus Torrance - G Florida - Absolute road grader having watched him at Louisiana and then at Florida 58. Dalton Kincaid - TE Utah Could develop into one of the next great tight ends in the NFL 61. Zach Charbonnet - RB UCLA Day 1 starter 90. Hendon Hooker - QB Tennessee Taken in the 3rd round, he's given time to develop at minimal cost 93. Marvin Mimms - WR Oklahoma - Vertical field maker which, along with Kincaid, would open up a whole new world for the Panthers offense 132. Mekhi Gardner - CB LSU - Know the name, don't know much about him other than I think he was projected as 1 st round pick a couple of years ago. Not sure how he fell off a cliff but his former secondary coach left and that could have something to do with it. Huge value here. 134. Luke Schoonmaker - TE Michigan - When he's not out making schooners, he's dominating safeties. Two capable tight ends, along with Mimms, Moore, Marshall, and Charbonnet give this Panthers offense the potential to be one of the leagues best in two years time 147. Adetomiwa Adebawore - Edge Northwestern - Incredible drop for such a talented player. May be one of those late round guys you usually see other teams get and make you ask how they dropped so far 150. Jammie Robinson - S Florida State - Huge upside, very heady player who could call the defense with some seasoning 159. Nick Hampton - Edge App State - The doctor called and gave me a prescription for more pass rush. This guy is Brian Burns v 2.0 without 3 down potential. Amazing bend, 4.5 speed at 6'4 240 lbs. Watched him all his career at App State and many South Carolina fans may remember him as 31 who just wrecked the game, along with current Bengal's linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither. Those guys shut it down at the end. Had a sack at Texas A&M and I believe 2.5 against UNC this year. Amazing value potential here. -

Pick 9. Anthony Richardson - QB Florida Pick 39. Dalton Kincaid - TE Utah Pick 61. Marvin Mimms WR Oklahoma Pick 93. Zach Charbonnet RB UCLA Pick. 114. Tyrique Stevenson CB Miami Pick 132. Ventrell Miller LB Florida Pick 147. Nick Hampton LB/DE Pass rush specialist App State I didn't trade and went BPA early. Stroud was available at 9 but Richardson's upside is undeniable, especially if the Panthers end up with the Eagles QB Coach at OC. You can roll with a new 6'5 tight end who can block and catch, a speedy slot type receiver to attack and stretch the field vertically, Charbonnet who is a 3 down back with Pro Bowl potential in Year 1. Stevenson to shore up the secondary and potentially develop into a guy, Ventrell Miller to add a rookie to the LB room and hopefully develop. Nick Hampton as a pass rush specialist in a passing league late who may be able to develop into a 3 down roll with some experience and NFL weight training. Reminds me a lot of Brian Burns with his dip and speed. Played his best against P5 competition while at App. Great value pick at 149. -
People compare Levis to Allen because they are white. Anthony Richardson is far closer to Josh Allen than anyone I've seen in quite a while.
-
I think he's more like Josh Allen. Seems to have the release and presence in the pocket to become a Josh Allen type which, in my opinion, is better than Cam Newton. If he's the choice, especially with Reich and a power run game, I won't be mad at it. Trade up into the first to take Jalyn Hyatt out of Tennessee to give you Moore, Hyatt, and Marshall, along with re-signing Foreman, and I'm good. I'd be good seeing Richardson start as a rookie if we have enough talent around him. I also trust we have a head coach who knows how to run Training Camp unlike Matt Rhule. The one thing I do not want is for the Panthers to trade our 1st this year and next year along with more 2nd or 3rd round picks to move up for Levis, Stroud, or Young.
-
I'd take Anthony Richardson. I don't care to trade away our future for any QB's available. If it was Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow...sure. but there is no guy like that here.

Tepper admits to mistake in hiring Matt Rhule
CPcavedweller replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tepper has an executive team made up mostly of women. I'm not saying this is an issue, but what are the odds that this team was made up of mostly women, and he was choosing the best candidate, in the NFL, for the job? He is focusing on diversity in his executive team but not in leadership of the group on the field which tells me that it's a facade. Now I'm all for hiring whomever, including Steve Wilks as HC, but you have to hire the best people you can find without attributing anything else to them but their abilities. Steve Wilks demonstrated his ability at a superior level to many other interim and full Head Coaches who are still under contract right now. Mike McDaniel, Josh McDaniels, Brandon Staley, Todd Bowles, etc. and deserved this job. I'm not sure what else the man has to do to get a fair shake at a Head Coaching position? Yet we went for Reich, which I get. You want an offensive minded coach. However for the executive team, I'd like to see who he has chosen and how he has chosen because those types of decisions have huge impacts downstream. Hiring under qualified people in leadership positions leads to functional issues similar to what we've seen thus far. -
Sell me Justin Fields vs CJ Stroud
CPcavedweller replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
We don't need to trade draft picks for either. We have a former NFL QB as Head Coach now, a guy who is similar to Andy Reid in what he can when given the chance to develop someone with a skillset. Someone like Matt Corral, Sam Darnold, or Anthony Richardson. So I'll sell you both of these dudes for a penny if it means taking out a 2nd mortgage at today's ridiculous interest rates on the future to get them. -
Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral
CPcavedweller replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
What did Josh Allen run at Wyoming? Patrick Mahomes ran the most basic offense you could possibly run in college and look at him. If you wanted a coach who could make a guy like Corral a super star, you got him. That said, I'm in favor of drafting Richardson. Dude is Josh Allen v 2.0. -
Man, I wanted to see him in Vegas with McDaniels once more. Maybe knock the Chiefs down a peg for at least one season.

Rhule files Suit against the Panthers

Not if the contract says you forego your right to that cash in the event you get another paying job in x amount of time. -
Rhule files Suit against the Panthers
CPcavedweller replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilks lawsuit won't go anywhere if it's based on race, as much as I wanted him to be Head Coach. There is a plausible dichotomy between offense and defense and that's what Tepper wanted to make a decision on. Rhule on the other hand, I'm sure the Panthers have not paid him, being fully aware they may be sued. They likely interpret this cash as non-payable as Rhule got another job. -
The "running QB" has a huge opportunity this Super Bowl
CPcavedweller replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Do you want Mahomes who may be able to play 20 years or Jalen Hurts who may be able to play 8 or 9 at a high level? The running quarterback is great and all, but one pop to that shoulder and it's all over. -
Irsay has hired Minority Candidates in the past so I doubt they would be able to prove he broke some sort of RHULE here. You like who you like and he likes Saturday.

Joe Person on possible coordinator candidates
CPcavedweller replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Joe Brady is available. Honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to Brady without Rhule. I think Rhule was the root of all of the problems here considering how Wilks did with a very large interim staff and three different QB's.
