Bu..bu..but Baker is Baker. He has a photograohic memory, a stronger arm than Young, good movement skills, etc. I see Young as slightly better than Baker just because his release is quicker but all of his balls float. He can't Rope anything in beyond 10 yards past the LOS and making those cross field throws, on time, is going to be hard for him. Stroud makes those outs and digs look easy from 40 yards out. His footwork is perfect. He makes the right reads pre-snap. We don't need the most vocal guy. We need a guy who can execute and Reich hasn't had someone who can place the ball like Stroud since Luck. Obviously Luck could run but that ended up being his downfall as well. And for people who sag you need someone who can create. Tom Brady went to 10 Super Bowls. He may be the least athletic guy who ever played in the NFL. Stroud has the same kind of ball placement as Brady, Luck, Burrow, etc. If it's there mentally as well, you take him and don't look back, especially with Caldwell, MCcown, and Reich.

It's all Arm angle and movement. The thing is that there are a ton of other metrics including injuries. Three QB's last year were around Bryce Youngs measurements: Russell Wilson, Tua, and Kyler. Russell and Tua were knocked out cold at least once and Kyler tore his ACL. Obviously that can happen to anyone, including Joe Burrow. However every since Burrow tore his ACL and the Bengals realized that wasn't sustainable, they went and got Jamar Chase and offensive line help. They've been to the AFC Championship game two years in a row. If our QB Coach says that Stroud is a lot like Burrow, not Burrow-lite or Mini-Burrow, you go get him. Bryce Young being called Mahomes-lite is funny because he's lite in every sense of the word: Arm strength, height, pocket presence, Arm angles, platforms, etc. He was a mini-Mahomes in college. If we could take Young in the 2nd or at 9 I'd have said go for it. But at Number 1? Hell no. You go with the guy whose comp is Burrow. He reads defenses, makes checks, pre-snap reads, literally walks the ball 60 yards downfield, and tore up the countries best defense in UGA, straight up shook the best defensive tackle in Jalin Carter and threw a touchdown, etc. It's not even close. Not. Even. Close. Just need Tepper to not screw this up like his soccer team.

Josh McCown compared Stroud to Burrow. I don't see any way that we don't take Stroud unless Tepper wants his own personal pet project in Young. I'd agree about getting Jaxon but wouldn't that require trading Horn, Chinn, or Burns? No one is trading out of the first unless we give up a player.

I'd like to have a linebacker or Darnell Washington, personally. I'd like Nick Hampton from App State as a pass rusher for Ejiro and Capers in the 4th if he's there. Freak length and nearly the same measurable as Will Anderson.

If it gets Tepper out of the picture, so be it. -

He's better than Stroud? In college, perhaps. In the NFL, highly unlikely. He scrambles around, great. People call him Mahomes-lite but he's Mahomes-literally I'm every way, Arm strength, height, processing speed, etc. Everyone loved Zac Wilson's off platform throws and ability to "create" as well. When it came down to him throwing from the pocket what happened? He can't do it. Give me Stroud, a proven pocket gun slinger who can hit 70 yards down the field as well as 30, all from the pocket. Bryce can't do that. If I'm Tepper, I listen to the experts that I hired to run the team. -

Can Tepper not stay out of poo? God damn man. -
Panthers trade PK Zane Gonzalez

All-Leg Team My point stands. -
That Texas A&M game was a thing of beauty. I grew up in Hudson, going to App games, so I'm right there with you. By the way, Anderson Castle is a future Hall of Famer. If you don't get the joke now, you will.
-
The original post was some Madden garbage of how "OP would use them" not how "Ejiro will use them". There is a difference that's more than semantics here. When discussing how the staff will use them, usually an OP will provide some insight into coaching and scheme, not their personal preference.

"Oo wee mayne" the Panthers love LSU.

Need to revise the title to "Future All-Pro Kicker" since every kicker we trade or cut goes on to be awesome. -
Well, you're not the defensive coordinator or Dom Capers so..no one cares.

Are you an App fan? I've watched his entire career and I tend to agree with that. He played like 6'2 225 so no one questioned his measurable at App. So when he came out at 6'1 210 everyone was confused a bit. Then he ran over and through some dudes when he finally got a carry at the Senior Bowl, instead of Jake Haener pulling every RPO he got, and I was like, 6'2 225 is definitely his playing size. Literally ran around two guys and then straight over the UGA safety and then buried another guy. His games against Miami, UNC, and Texas A&M are games people can watch if they want some familiarity with Peoples. Would love for him to end up with Carolina but preferably with a 7th round pick.
-
Camerun Peoples would be a good option late. Power back, could put on 10 lbs jn the NFL and be a real horse.
-
Darnell Washington in the 2nd, come on down.

Superior to whom? Have you watched Stroud play? Have you seen Josh's breakdown of Stroud's tape? Their mental processing is nearly equal and Stroud is a pinpoint passer. He makes those Pro Day throws in live games, over and over and over. Give me Stroud over Young and even give me Levis over Young. Levis is going to be that guy who drops but ends up being really good. You can mark that down.
-
It really comes down to a precision passer versus someone who can improvise. I get that Stroud didn't leave the pocket much but he didn't have to. When he did against UGA he ended up throwing two touchdowns. 10 years ago, Young is a 3rd or 4th round pick. I think he's still worth that range, personally. Stroud is just a dude who could drop a needle into a thimble from 40 yards away.
-
Stroud is the best QB in this class. I think Levis is second. Levis 2022 was horrid because his best receiver was a true freshman, he had a new offensive coordinator, and his line was garbage.
-
Still prefer Stroud. Not sure how anyone can say Young is the best thrower of the ball after seeing both throw.

CJ stroud post game interview after Michigan loss
CPcavedweller replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Frank Reich is going to have a hard time ignoring his seminary background on this one. Personally, I like Levis. However Levis comes from an Ivy League family with that Ivy League attitude that is a hit similar to Zach Wilson. So while he has the ability, does he have the mental capacity and drive? Stroud has the drive to lift himself up and get better. He wants to be the best individually but within the confines of helping the team win, and that's an invaluable trait to have. -

Well, he did hang his head the whole time. Didn't really stand up straight. Obviously hes dejected and he seems to show that through his body language more than ithers. Not sure if that is a thing opposing defenses take note of, or your own offense, or how he is on the field but that may be something he can work on that isn't solely field related. Obviously its nitpicking but the margins are almost non-existant jn the NFL. Every little thing matters. -
McCown to CJ : “Maybe when you move to Charlotte”
CPcavedweller replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dude, I say this poo to family who live in New York all the time. They're not moving here. Trade down to four and take Levis. After watching a few games, I'm convinced Levis would've been just as prolific, if not more, at both Alabama and Ohio State than Young and Stroud. I really think that he is this years Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes. The dude who slides down to around 10 and ends up being the best QB in the draft. -
I want Stroud or Levis. I went back and watched some Kentucky games. That guy, with good receivers and tight ends, will be a problem. He had a super young team around him last year and his best receiver was a true freshman, which, at Kentucky isn't the same as Ohio State or Alabama. I think Levis in Ohio State or at Alabama probably would've been more prolific than both Young and Stroud. I was on the hate Levis train for a while but man, that Arm, his ability to look off safeties while running a pro style offense, with Reich would be something to watch. He reminds me a bit of Phillip Rivers. If Richardson had run a 4.6 40 instead of a 4.4, he'd be a second round pick. Personally, if we could get the Colts or Texans to trade up and we take Levis, I'd be cool with it.
