Carolina Panthers @ Las Vegas Raiders Gameday Thread
CPcavedweller replied to Montsta's topic in Carolina Panthers
Holy poo. Johnson didn’t forget how to play receiver. Dalton through 20 minutes of game time: 10/13 124 yards and two touchdowns. -

Dalton has already thrown for over 100 yards with completions to 6 receivers. -

Is that a 3rd and 14 conversion? I had been prepared to walk away like I generally do. -

Sanders whiffed hard there. Took the wrong rusher. -

There is no pass rush or run defense. Had Brown stayed healthy and if we could get Hasaan back, we would’ve been good. You would also think that Morgan and Kuechly could identify linebacker talent because that has been lacking for a franchise that prides itself on that position. -

Is it bad that I don’t care what the defense looks like? We scored a touchdown on offense, I’m happy. -

Minshews processing makes Bryce look like an 8 bit gaming system. -

Can’t run with Bryce because he can’t drop back, action the hand off and throw. So running is pointless which throws off everything else. -

We didn’t ruin Bryce. Bryce should have sat for three years before ever touching the field which means he was overdrafted by probably two rounds. -

Television people once again sucking up to Bryce. I’m not sure if they are afraid of hurting his feelings or what. They weren’t afraid of hurting Zac’s feelings. They weren’t afraid of hurting Darnold’s feelings. Why do they tip toe around Bryce like he’s some maltreated savant? Bryce played like garbage and Dalton proved it with a single drive. -

Dalton has elevated the entire offense and coaching staff. And the problem is he hasn’t really elevated anyone, Bryce was just playing that bad. It’s insane how this team, all of the sudden, looks like the team from the end of 2022. -
Helps when you have a quarterback that can call out protections, checks, audible, etc. A lot more goes into line play than just blocking.

The Sad Rise and Fall of Bryce Young
CPcavedweller replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, Josh McCown is a scrub!!! except, again, look at Darnold. Except Darnold was always like this and aside from one game against the Saints in 2022, he looked like a guy you want to retain, as did Wilks. But instead, we trade away DJ Moore, future firsts, hire a coach who was just fired, and blow the whole thing up. Tepper is a moron. -
At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

And wtf does being an economist have to do with evaluating if Bryce should be a back-up? You need to be an accountant, not someone evaluating supply and demand. -

I got more bro. You’re an OG, you’ve been around for as long as I have. Many of us remember because a lot of us left the board when the Bryce slobber began. What shocks me is that the talking heads in football television genuinely think the Panthers are the issue with Bryce. Bryce is the issue with Bryce. -
Correct. I don’t really see a huge difference between Dalton and Kirk Cousins honestly. Dalton went to the QB hole that was Chicago and then was in Mew Orleans under their awful offensive scheme once Payton left.
-
So he’s licking his chops at Icky. Overall, the Panthers have a good line. Dalton has also seen enough in his career to get protections correct.

I think Andy gets a ton of criticism for no real particular reason. He was a major driver behind the complete and utter revolution of the Cincinnati Bengals from joke franchise to perennial playoff contender in one of the hardest divisions of football for years. He may not have gotten them to the Super Bowl like Burrow, or the AFC Championship, but he laid the framework for that organization to be where they are today. I don’t know that he will ever get the proper credit for all of that. I understand the criticism and how he was sort of a regular season king, but man did he ball up there. Looking forward to today.
-
Hunt, Moton, Johnson, Horn… I’ll be excited to see if Andy can get a deep ball to Johnson today. I want to see the offense look excited.

Bro, I’m 32 and don’t do Tik Tok. Maybe I’m old too? That and I don’t want my location data to be used to size us up for cruise missile strikes. That’s neither here, nor there. what was the video about? I’m of the opinion that this offense can be really good, it just needs a quarterback. The defense proved that it can be good, at times, against Los Angeles. Whether it can be put together for a full game when they know they have an offense behind them, who knows?

Caleb has the arm, and if he develops the mental aspect he will be really very good. He reminds me a lot of Dak. -

It wasn’t all speculation. For people who consume college football as much, if not more, than the NFL it was easy to see. Bryce doesn’t have the arm. He doesn’t have the extra elite traits to make up for his lack of traits. you don’t give up what we gave up for a guy who requires an offense of first round talent to succeed. You take a guy like Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Joe Burrow, etc. with that trade. Not a guy like Bryce. -
What could they realistically get for Bryce??
CPcavedweller replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Look, you don’t trade what we traded for him to have to surround him with the same kind of talent that Tua has. The Dolphins will never win a Super Bowl with Tua because they are too dependent on everyone around him. The Chiefs can continue to win and make things happen because they can run with quality rookies on offense and invest heavily in defense. same thing for the Bills. -

Probably a conditional 7th and a split of his salary cap hit, maybe they pay 1/10th of his salary. Would be better off converting his salary and cutting him honestly.
