  1. So in QB years, not a lot of difference there. Darnold could be a guy. The Panthers could've drafted Fields and we would still be just as screwed. This offensive line is horrible.
  2. What is Rhule's buy out? What are the odds the next guy who comes in doesn't have to start a new rebuild process and set Tepper back another two years? I'm inclined to think Rhule is given a 3rd year. If he could address the offensive line, and maybe turn over everything non-coaching related to Fitterer, the Panthers may be fine. Though I personally believe rhat firing Brady is grounds for termination. Would rather them have fired Rhule and kept Brady as interim.
  3. Reason or no reason, I'd think the same rule applies anywhere. If you win it all, odds are that if you return everyone you're likely to be the favorite again so why doesn't everyone do it? I haven't seen a truly "lightning in a bottle season" since 2015, when the Panthers made the game despite having possibly the worst WR Corp in the NFL. Other than that, most teams who made it were built to get there and made it. So for a team like Carolina, you understand the turnover. For Philly, KC, Tampa, New England, etc. I don't.
  4. Just Fields and Sam Darnold are the same age, or close to it, I believe. Sam would've been fine if the Panthers had resolved our OL issues. Instead we brought Darnold onto a team where our offensive line is worse than the Jets. What's that thing about the definition of insanity?
  5. When it nets draft picks, and your season is lost, screw it. Take the L for the future W, just don't make it obvious.
  6. Not every team. Tampa brought back literally every starter from 2020.
  7. I'm beginning to think that Rhule should've been fired and Brady should've been made the interim. If you're going to lose, at least lose finding out if Brady is truly a prodigy or if he's a JAG. The problems with his offenses weren't Brady but rather the offensive line. You can't scheme ANYTHING around the weakness of this group. You just call what you call and hope for the best. Now a potential generational talent is gone and we are left with Rhule and his high school coach friend.
  8. How long have you been around? How long? I've been around since I was 5, in 1996. I've closely followed the Panthers in some aspect since then (as much as you can in those various ages). I've lived through 1-15, post Tommy John Jake Delhomme, JIMMY CLAUSEN, RODNEY fuging PETE. But I was also at the Green Bay game in 2011 to see Cam break the rookie record for passing Yards in a game; watching him heave a 65 yard bomb to Steve Smith off of one foot. I remember the crosser to Ginn against the Saints on 3rd down after going 0-fer the entire game and the stadium shaking after the touchdown later that drive. Beating the Patriots on Monday night football. An Asian guy in the stands in 2003 during the Detroit Lions game saying "We going to HOUSTON" in a stereotypical asian-american accent (don't flame me, the guy have immigrated here and was excited). Sure as poo, we went to Houston. The Vikings game when Culpepper tore his ACL and Smitty made Fred Smoot his bitch, even going so far as to row the boat. I'm not going any fuging where. You want to go? Go. No one will miss your negative ass. GTFO and take your God damn fish with you.
  9. They probably have a private airport closer to Clemson. Oklahoma would certainly be sending an executive jet.
  10. Thank god. Maybe we can bring in McDaniels.
  11. The offensive line is the worst in the league. Our worst fears have come true. This isn't a QB problem, it's an offensive line problem. Cam was hit on damn near every drop back.
  12. How long have you been here? How long has Proudiddy been here? You probably weren't around in the early days, is my guess.
  13. Another thing, on the slant pass that ended up behind more, the 0 tec had moved left into the throwing lane so Cam had to throw between the guard and tackle to avoid a batted pass. The timing wasn't off and it wasn't a bad pass, the linemen went up as Cam was pulling back and based on where he was in the pocket he had to fit it through that window.
  14. All of them. If the offense can be built, see if you can't get the defensive guys to pull a Tampa for a run at the Super Bowl. The Panthers aren't far off and if the right moves are made at quarterback, 2022 could be the year to make a run.
  15. How many of you stood up and cried tears of sweet joy, having memories of that past decade of your life come flooding back? Birth of children, finishing college, playing drinking games on Sundays? Just me...okay..
  16. Wow. But he doesn't know how Brady is going to use Cam. He can make some assumptions but, assume wrong, and you'll pay. I always said, as did many here, that all Rivera was missing with Cam was an offensive line and a modern offensive coordinator. We still don't have an offensive line but we do have a modern offensive coordinator. I expect Brady and Cam will do well to help each other look good, assuming Cam can get his timing down. It's going to be a project which is why I'm really hopeful that Cam will be back next year as well.
  17. Has Rivera ever lost to Bruce Arians in the regular season? I think the playoffs last season was his first time losing to him. Rivera is one of the best defensive coaches in the NFL, still. His decision making in personnel is suspect and the offenses are always behind the defense, except in 2015, but his defenses are usually great assuming he has even average personnel.
  18. They aren't teaching 16 year olds how to write differently than they send text messages? Enjoy remedial English at the local community college.
  19. I watch it for the dumb takes. I don't watch it for news and information. However, their takes, while often off the wall, aren't always incorrect. This take was just misinformed and the researchers for the show could've found that out quickly.
  20. None of that cash goes to the Panthers. Those tickets are already sold as far as the team is concerned. That's secondary market value and has no impact on revenues.
  21. Do they not know that the Panthers have PSL's and are sold out every game? The ticket revenue is in hand so no, this isn't about tickets. This is about capitalizing on having a Top 5 defense, Christian McCaffrey, DJ Moore, Anderson, our right tackle, etc. It's about having an ROI measured in wins. If Tepper wanted a losing team, he wouldn't be paying guys. Sure, they may pocket some cash from jersey sales but it's miniscule compared to what they pocket by WINNING. Cam was brought here to win and Stephen A. Smith is a tool on this topic. I like him, I like his show, but he seems to firmly believe in what he is saying here and it's beyond idiotic.
