  1. If a Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels were available, they would have given up on him. And that’s the point, none of the QB options were worth drafting to them.
  2. Could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure I said I’d take Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels over Caleb Williams, both for the same reason that I wouldn’t have touched Bryce with a 10 foot pole.
  3. I think Stroud looks fine. The whole team played like ass against Minnesota but his first two games were just what you’d expect from him.
  4. It has been proven. I’m of the opinion that the owner, if he is not the GM, has no business attending Pro Days. You pay people tens of millions of dollars to know football, and you’re attending Pro Days to yuck it up with coaches and attend dinners? We can be fairly certain that Reich and McCown wanted Stroud. The videos following his Pro Day seemed to make that obvious. Then we saw the video of Young’s Pro Day and it was all Tepper. Tepper played fan boy and, honestly, I think the whole reason for the trade and why he pushed it so hard was to get Bryce. There was never an option for anyone but Bryce, otherwise the owner would not have effectively given the GM an ultimatum to make the trade happen. The fact the Bears were willing to trade back at all should have been a sign.
  5. He has been our weak link. He is the single reason we drafted Bryce Young. Had we beaten Tampa in 2022, we never get the chance to make that mistake.
  6. Stroud looks fine. They ran into the buzz saw that is the Minnesota Vikings but aside from that, they’ve been great. The context to add here is that Cincinnati has the worst pass defense in the NFL going back to last season.
  7. I’m getting RG3 vibes. Obviously they aren’t running read option with him but he is very slim to be taking the hits he is going to take. Great player who can hopefully stay healthy. However, do you want to know what the indicator of success is? Look at Nix and look at Daniels. Both started at least 50 games in college. Football is second nature because of the experience that they have, and the systems they played in. Again, Bryce’s positive attributes weren’t what he did at Alabama. He didn’t play from the pocket, he didn’t make multiple reads from the pocket, and he certainly had few protection calls and audibles to call. He is trying to do at Carolina what he did at Alabama and that’s why things aren’t working. On the contrary, Daniels is doing exactly what he did at Arizona State and LSU in Washington. He is making plays from the pocket and also making plays outside when he needs to. He is a pocket passer with 4.4 speed. He is a better version of Lamar Jackson. Also, Josh Allen is the best QB in the NFL. Put him with Andy Reid all of these years and I think you’d see similar results to what Mahomes has done there.
  8. Sanders missed several blocks. It’s going to take time for him but I do think that was a great pick, nonetheless. Need to get him more involved in the receiving game.
  9. I think Cam had a great year in 2015 but I do think, in hindsight, that he wasn’t as good as we all thought he was. He may have been a Top 15 QB most of his tenure but he had limitations in reading defenses and precision throws (different from accuracy).
  10. The Lions game in 2022 was a great win solely due to the number of rushing yards, but the Lions hadn’t just come back and beaten the Ravens and had a horrible rush defense so, you may be right. Seeing 33-7 on the scoreboard was a blast back to 2015.
  11. I broke this yesterday, in a random thread. Anish confirmed this was a hamstring during the game on the radio broadcast. Obviously there was no prognosis but, as a 33 year old white guy with probably 60% the athleticism of Theilen, I can confirm that a hamstring injury would hurt, and would continue to hurt for longer than if I were 22. Therefore, I agree with the MD’s timeline of “I have no f’n clue, you’re 30 something bro, why are you playing a game?”
  12. Well I wouldn’t say he’s experienced a lot. What he got yesterday is akin to me going to a five star hotel tomorrow, all expenses paid, in the Greek isles.
  13. Oh, again. Gotcha. I thought you meant “first time ever”. Part of me wonders how many potential fans have been lost due to the past 6 years of suckery. ECU effectively lost a whole generation of student athletics support due to their failings. I wonder how that works in the NFL. I would say that I’m proud as well. I’m proud for Canales making a decision and it working out. It’s the first major coaching decision we’ve seen work since Wilks fired half of his staff and benched everyone else and started Sam. He knew what he wanted the offense to be and it paid off big time. And had we beaten Tampa, we probably never draft Bryce Young and yeah, butterfly effect.
  14. Does it matter? The Titans also fumbled that pick away, even though I still think Levis can be a really good QB in the NFL. I think people forget that it takes time to develop for 99% of players regardless of position and that isn’t afforded to them anymore.
  15. Why are people so afraid to hurt Bryce’s feelings? I don’t get it. He is the same guy he was at Alabama. We tried training that out of him and it hasn’t worked, and that falls on his own preparation away from the facility and during the offseason, which he admittedly spent watching Netflix. It’s Bryce Young’s decision to get better or to not get better. The issue isn’t that he has changed since he left Alabama, the problem is that he has not changed since he left Alabama.
  16. Rivera had a process. He said “Super Bowl in three years”, it took four but still, his process worked, then we paid Cam and Cam wasn’t good enough to compensate for the lack of cap space that signing big contracts results in. Brady could win Super Bowls because he was good enough to carry a team, year after year. Mahomes is good enough to carry a team when needed, year after year. Josh Allen is now at that point. Cam was never to that point, unfortunately. Fun period of team history but I do think how good he actually was is overblown a bit. I believe he was a slow processor and was constantly late out of the huddle. Now a part of that falls on Ron for not making changes at offensive coordinator but still.
  17. Bro, have we sunk that low or are you just that new? We’ve had plenty to be proud of over the years, and I will admit, being an App State fan, UNC fan, ECU fan, USC, NC STATE, Virginia Tech, or Coastal fan must be hard right now. But man, all of those schools except UNC and NC State have had moments to be proud of. More proud than beating the Raiders. “Calm down brother, there will be more” (pie for the person who knows what this quote is from)
  18. Adam had a hamstring injury according to Anish on the radio broadcast. Haven’t heard anything since.
  19. Time to revive my favorite going back to 2010.
  20. Let them apologize. All the media has is access, it’s what their livelihood depends on. This is their way of keeping an ear to the door.
  21. I hate this idea that “momentum” and “energy” wins games. We won games with Wilks because he was a better coach than Rhule. We just won a game with Andy Dalton because he is just that much better than Bryce. Hell, he played better than anyone but Cam Newton going back to 2015. Once again, they didn’t watch the games. They didn’t go back and see how Bryce compared to Andy. They don’t get it.
  22. All these cucks had to do was read our forum here.
