Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 3 win
CPcavedweller replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sanders missed several blocks. It’s going to take time for him but I do think that was a great pick, nonetheless. Need to get him more involved in the receiving game. -
I think Cam had a great year in 2015 but I do think, in hindsight, that he wasn’t as good as we all thought he was. He may have been a Top 15 QB most of his tenure but he had limitations in reading defenses and precision throws (different from accuracy).

The Lions game in 2022 was a great win solely due to the number of rushing yards, but the Lions hadn’t just come back and beaten the Ravens and had a horrible rush defense so, you may be right. Seeing 33-7 on the scoreboard was a blast back to 2015. -
I broke this yesterday, in a random thread. Anish confirmed this was a hamstring during the game on the radio broadcast. Obviously there was no prognosis but, as a 33 year old white guy with probably 60% the athleticism of Theilen, I can confirm that a hamstring injury would hurt, and would continue to hurt for longer than if I were 22. Therefore, I agree with the MD’s timeline of “I have no f’n clue, you’re 30 something bro, why are you playing a game?”

Well I wouldn’t say he’s experienced a lot. What he got yesterday is akin to me going to a five star hotel tomorrow, all expenses paid, in the Greek isles. -

Oh, again. Gotcha. I thought you meant “first time ever”. Part of me wonders how many potential fans have been lost due to the past 6 years of suckery. ECU effectively lost a whole generation of student athletics support due to their failings. I wonder how that works in the NFL. I would say that I’m proud as well. I’m proud for Canales making a decision and it working out. It’s the first major coaching decision we’ve seen work since Wilks fired half of his staff and benched everyone else and started Sam. He knew what he wanted the offense to be and it paid off big time. And had we beaten Tampa, we probably never draft Bryce Young and yeah, butterfly effect. -
Why are people so afraid to hurt Bryce’s feelings? I don’t get it. He is the same guy he was at Alabama. We tried training that out of him and it hasn’t worked, and that falls on his own preparation away from the facility and during the offseason, which he admittedly spent watching Netflix. It’s Bryce Young’s decision to get better or to not get better. The issue isn’t that he has changed since he left Alabama, the problem is that he has not changed since he left Alabama.

Rivera had a process. He said “Super Bowl in three years”, it took four but still, his process worked, then we paid Cam and Cam wasn’t good enough to compensate for the lack of cap space that signing big contracts results in. Brady could win Super Bowls because he was good enough to carry a team, year after year. Mahomes is good enough to carry a team when needed, year after year. Josh Allen is now at that point. Cam was never to that point, unfortunately. Fun period of team history but I do think how good he actually was is overblown a bit. I believe he was a slow processor and was constantly late out of the huddle. Now a part of that falls on Ron for not making changes at offensive coordinator but still.

Bro, have we sunk that low or are you just that new? We’ve had plenty to be proud of over the years, and I will admit, being an App State fan, UNC fan, ECU fan, USC, NC STATE, Virginia Tech, or Coastal fan must be hard right now. But man, all of those schools except UNC and NC State have had moments to be proud of. More proud than beating the Raiders. “Calm down brother, there will be more” (pie for the person who knows what this quote is from) -
Whatever. SUPERB OWL IS BACK.

Any Injury Update on Thielen and Lewis?
CPcavedweller replied to thennek's topic in Carolina Panthers
Adam had a hamstring injury according to Anish on the radio broadcast. Haven’t heard anything since. -
Time to revive my favorite going back to 2010.

Let them apologize. All the media has is access, it’s what their livelihood depends on. This is their way of keeping an ear to the door.

I hate this idea that “momentum” and “energy” wins games. We won games with Wilks because he was a better coach than Rhule. We just won a game with Andy Dalton because he is just that much better than Bryce. Hell, he played better than anyone but Cam Newton going back to 2015. Once again, they didn’t watch the games. They didn’t go back and see how Bryce compared to Andy. They don’t get it.

6-2 looks possible.

All these cucks had to do was read our forum here.

Darnold has 10 years of prime left and that’s the issue. If he can play this well and sustain it, you get rid of one of them and the sooner the better for the Vikings, honestly. I despise them for being so good at QB right now.
-
Vikings just drafted JJ. They aren't cutting JJ or trading him to sign Darnold, considering the upside that JJ has. Both guys could be really good, but they will go with JJ if they can get 90% of the production of Sam just because of the cap hit. I think we could make a run at Darnold. He's not going to get a massive contract after one good year Vikings. He could possibly receive a Daniel Jones or Baker Mayfield style contract, or he may bet on himself and play the same way again next year. Personally, I'd say you make a run for Darnold, bring back Diontae, let Chubba go (unfortunately) or Sanders, see if you can either draft a rookie tight end or sign another in Free Agency to replace Tremble, and assess receivers, then go hard on defensive line. Obviously it's one game, but I don't think the Panthers are as far off as people thought they were on Saturday.
-
I don't think that Dalton will come with much added cost. What does a 38 year old QB go for? If he can show he can do it for a full season, maybe you sign him to a Baker Mayfield style deal? I don't know if Andy could get the Panthers to a Super Bowl, but if he came back on a team friendly deal, and Morgan builds the defense out while adding a few offensive pieces, I don't see why not. We have a Super Bowl capable offensive line right now. As bad as Ickey is, you can work around a single weak link on the line. Cam proved you can get there with bottom of the barrel receivers, and I think Legette and Mingo will turn out to be good picks, especially paired with Johnson.

Show some appreciation for the savior, providing the best game by a Panthers quarterback since 2015; and maybe the best Panther's game overall since the 2015 NFC Championship route. I know there have been wins mixed in, notably the Lions game of 2022, but yesterday, 33-7, was a thorough beatdown and Canales deserves all the credit for realizing what we all saw here.

"Breakout" was a "bold" prediction for a guy who already had a 1,000 yard receiving season.

Bryce can’t be on the team this time next week.
CPcavedweller replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bro, NFL.com is saying that this is just a timeout for Bryce and that he will play again this season. no, no, no, no, no. I am not going back. -
That’s sort of the point. Bryce was so bad that the Panthers looking competent was so shocking to most people. The thing that gets me is the national media paraded the idea around that the Panthers lacked talent around Bryce. Well, guys, that was dispelled today.
