Should we give him a participation trophy while we are at it? Dude is a professional athlete and wouldn’t be third string on probably 16 other teams right now. So we can bash Tepper for pushing this, we can bash Fitterer for not standing up to Tepper.

I'm of the opinion there are better QB rooms in North Carolina right now. App State, UNC, and NC State being three of them.

Bro, you don't remember the touchdown to clinch the NFCS Championship in 2013? The Patriots game on MNF in 2015? The Seattle playoff game in Charlotte?

You don’t remember last year? During the Jets practice, Panther fans were under the assumption Bryce was outplaying Rodger’s. Turns out that 3 YPA on the way to 52 yard field goals became the norm and it was a good barometer for how the offense would be later. if they can’t drive the field in practice against the Jets, look for another year with much of the same as last.

No, they said he was a mini-Patrick Mahomes. I am on record saying that was a bad thing, before the draft, because there were few timing throws, few intermediate timing throws, and even few deep balls against similar competition levels. Almost every play was a scramble drill and that just won’t work in the NFL. Want timing throws? Go watch a guy like Joey Aguilar at App State last year. 33 touchdowns, almost 4,000 yards and what was typically a run first offense. Look at Stroud’s final year at Ohio State and, more specifically, the Georgia game. there is such a huge contrast in those two guys and what Bryce looked like at Alabama that I’m shocked no one picked up on that.

Dude, Arch Manning was a true freshman last year, coming out of a small private school in Louisiana. Sarkisian will not be able to keep him off of the field this year if the Spring Game was any indication of what Manning plays like. if he does, it would only be because of loyalty to Ewers. When you watch them both, it’s pretty obvious who the better quarterback will be. I would take Manning over Sanders right now in a heart beat as well.

Expectations of Panthers from Rams fan's perspective

If Bryce averages 6 YPA, we are screwed again. Like Ukraine and our restrictions on their use of our armaments, you can’t win if you can’t go over the top and get past the defensive backfield. plying the quick short game will work for field goals but it will not work for touchdowns and wins. -

I will tune in just to listen to Brady. I'd like for him to be on Sunday Night Football, personally. -

Frankie Luvu, Chinn, and CMC's brother are either already really good players or will be. -
2024 Carolina Panthers record prediction
CPcavedweller replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
4-13 i just didn’t see any reason for optimism last year. Maybe we will have some better playmakers, but I don’t think it will matter. If we win, it’s because our offensive efficiency got marginally better but the defense is Top 5. Offense still won’t be able to score with what Bryce showed a year ago. -
The marxists are looking down upon you and smiling. How about we treat people as individuals and not a collective? You know none of them personally so that's quite a statement to make. I've seen plenty of drinks thrown, punches thrown, insults hurled, etc. from "peasants", as you say. I don't doubt some of them are PURE EVIL, but I'm sure some of them are fine. By most accounts, Tepper isn't a bad guy. And remember, what you say about people says more about you than it says about them.

Has anyone here ever met David Tepper in person?
CPcavedweller replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
He could’ve been a hero by not forcing the team to draft Bryce young. -
Darnold had arguably the worst coaches in the NFL over the last 25 years. Bryce had two or three of the most renowned QB people in the league on his side last year. maybe he figures it out, but the physical tools are not there. In order to succeed we will need a roster like the Dolphins and that doesn’t leave much room for defense, and defense still wins Super Bowls.

You make a lot of leaps in logic with very few facts to back them up. Wilks is a .500 level coach? He got one years in Arizona and a few months with the Panthers. He went .500 with half of a coaching staff and three quarterbacks, coming one quarter away and an Ickey collapse from making it to the playoffs. So if you say he’s a .500 coach based on that, I’d take Wilks all day long. Darnold won’t figure it out? After one years with Shanahan and now with O’Connell, don’t at me after he throws for more than 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns this season. A lot of you thought Baker would be in the USFL last year after his season with the Panthers and he ended up in the NFC Divisional round. tell me you know nothing without telling me you know nothing.

Bryce isn’t a psychologist though. Leaders lead and Bryce is being called out for his lack of leadership. There was talk of how he isn’t vocal enough, but they also said they needed his leadership.
-
Didn’t hire Wilks to be Head coach and didn’t retain Sam Darnold while trading away Brian Burns. Could have rebuilt with a quality head coach and serviceable quarterback while also stacking picks. Sam Darnold is still only 26 years old. Let that sink in. He is twenty six. Assuming he figures it out, he could have another 14 years.

I am excited because I think Canales will get his guy in 2025.

Stroud was salty panthers didn't draft him
CPcavedweller replied to CPF4LIFE's topic in Carolina Panthers
Somehow we went from potential playoff team that ran for over 300 yards in an NFL game, and a collapse by Ickey away from the playoffs, to 1-16. The loss of Darnold and Wilks hurt more than anyone in this forum will ever recognize, aside from me. -
Denver improved by three or four wins year over year did they not? In the NFL, a four win improvement is quite large from year to year. Now you have Payton with a QB he picked that is, to me, very much like Drew Brees. New Englands offense has almost always been mismanaged. But between Brady, Gronk, a few good to great offensive linemen, a Hall of Fame coach and great defense, they made it work. That is likely to be the same formula they use now. Again, I’m not going to discount either and considering the odds, I’d be far more likely to put money on them than on us. We have an easier road in our division, but I doubt that matters much.

Trey Lance? Dude didn’t even play and when he did play he got hurt. He was also pretty good the games he played. Kenny Pickett? Playoffs, No? Mac Jones had 20+ touchdowns passes and went to the playoffs. EJ Manuel wasn’t great but he looked better beating the Panthers than Bryce did at any point last year. He was on Josh Rosen’s level, if not worse. Maybe even Johnny Manziel and Manziel didn’t study or do much of anything. He also hardly played his rookie year.
