The "I apologize" part. It didn't feel sincere because it wasn't, that's what happens when you force someone to apologize for goodwill's sake. Until he's ready to admit that he made the wrong hire an apology from Tepper is empty lipservice because clearly he hasn't given up on Rhule being a good coach like the rest of us have. "The process is working, you just can't see it" in so many words.

I expected a massacre so they really surprised me. Fun first match. They were really close to spoiling it for LA. Good defense but we played way too much of it. Guys in the back were really timid about moving it up field. Hoping they just got caught up in the moment. Khalina was perfect but so was that Alvarez goal. Love that we at least seem to have a dependable keeper. Reyna is really interesting. Dude's got some serious jets on him and nice dribbling. Looks like he has a lot of work to do on finishing but he's going to produce some fun highlights. Terrible first impression of Swiderski thanks that awful flop at the beginning of the game (American crowds are just gonna love that) and I wish he was little more aggressive but dude has impressive touch on the ball. Loved his shot attempt when he collected it and 180'ed on the defender. Those will start going in eventually. The biggest issue was chemistry. Inspired attempts but they clearly don't have each others timing and pacing down just yet, that'll come with time.

Think Robby will bounce back I just don't know if he fits in our timeline looking for a QB, so I'm ok with exploring this. His heart wasn't in it last year and I honestly don't blame him considering the state of the offense.

Short of publically hanging Rhule or Darnold what could Tepper say that wouldn't just add fuel to the fire right now? Do we really need some ho-hum "we're not where we want to be but we're committed to building a blah blah" pep rally statement from the guy

I agree. Kid's already got a good head on his shoulders and the goal is to not be like Cam mechanically.

Cam with a LT #6 is the only way this season could be something. Otherwise we've still got a long rebuild ahead of us. I don't trust the coaching staff to develop a quarterback anymore and pass protection will continue to be an issue if we get a QB #6. Not expecting much in the short term if we go that route. Sam/PJ with a LT #6 - Meh. I'll tune in if I'm bored.

100%. I really don't want a QB with this pick but if they must then they gotta go for gold. Pickett would be playing it safe for Rhule's sake. Biggest hesitation is that I think, like Cam, he'll need good coaching early to iron out the issues or they'll set in stone.

Melo's a phenom but Miles is my favorite on the team. Only NBA player I've seen bring playoff effort every game.

Yes. I don't treat positional value as gospel. BPA is a myth as well since you won't really know who that was was until the class hits the field. There's a lot of unspoken value in having a positon sured up, no matter how important it is overall.

This is the debate around Tyler Linderbaum. Checks off every box but do you want to use a #6 on a center? That's higher than Luke and Christian were picked. Kalil was the top C of his class and we got him at the bottom of the second.
