Unpopular opinion but I like Tepper's public persona over Good Ol Boy Jerry asleep in the booth. If his thing was just crashing tailgates and watch parties he'd be awesome.

In all walks of life and sports there's people who make up for the talent they lack by putting in more work than the naturally gifted folks. Remember the fateful dinner that won him the job was Bryce talking up his preparation. It was a much a part of his mythos as the super processor crap and he hasn't show a hint of any of that since he got here. I think the fanbase would be more patient with if we saw him putting extra effort but he usually seems nonchalant, if anything. I'm sure he watches film like everyone else but basic prep ain't good enough when you lack basic tools. We were told this guy was an especially hard worker and that hasn't proven true at all.

He's asked constantly about his preparation and that's the only time he's answered with any detail beyond "watch film" and "mental reps." edit: I forgot "trust God."

A culture where talented players want to leave. You can't be a poverty franchise and lowball the few guys actually doing their job.

Starting calibur is not good enough. You can find that without giving up three picks for a guy who's going to miss a year. And those picks are critical given the current state of the roster. Brooks has to be elite or he is wasteful luxury pick for a franchise that can't afford it right now.

It has to be Bryce. Too much at stake and Dalton’s not that much better for development.

The bar is real low if that was great. He was mid which is progress.

Unlike Bryce we’ve seen glimpses of the others looking like franchise QBs. I don’t buy that we’re so much worse that he would look significantly better on any of those teams. The others also have tools that defenses respect regardless of what the supporting cast does while Bryce is getting openly mocked.

I respect the energy but it is a bad look when preventing scores is literally your job. This is our top player on defense mad they didn’t go easier on him.

He's entertaining. Him and Shannon can be pretty hilarious when they start cutting up. What's nice is they all seem to be having more fun now without Skip making things awkward with his racist dogwhistling. It's more like the NBA on TNT crew now which fits First Take better than treating it like serious analysis.

The biggest thing I can give them so far is getting Kemba back as coach. I think that's going to do more for team culture and Melo especially than people realize. It's like if Panthers had Luke or Cam in the locker room right now.

Same. I need a superstar performance at this point to get over the long list of negatives with Bryce. If "not bad" is his ceiling now he's basically a worse version of Teddy Bridgewater.

If he wasn’t offered at least what they gave Bridgewater they fugged up. Even if he really was toast I would have taken zombie Cam over the rotating circus we’ve had since, and frankly he had earned the benefit of doubt.

No need to rush it. It’ll be obvious when starting Dalton’s no longer doing us any favors. Even with that boneheaded pick he’s still playing at a much higher level than Bryce.

I find this stuff entertaining as long as you don’t take it too seriously. It’s barbershop talk and jokes. That said I don’t think Cam is a good fit for the same reason him and Shannon wouldn’t have worked. Cam is always The Main Character. Amusing but even when it’s just him interviewing someone he has a hard time taking a backseat to his guest. A debate format where has to play off of others and can’t always be the center of attention is not going to be easy for him.
