  1. Rivera and Fox even. Considerably less smoke and mirrors with this staff which tells me they're confident in what they have.
  2. Maybe not elite but Brady's deep ball could fly in his prime. I remember him airing it out to Moss.
  3. I'm only ok with a luxury vet if they're both gone before us. Even then, I feel like we may as well roll the dice on the AR project if we're willing to gamble on Lamar's health.
  4. He'd agree with you. In this same interview he says his biggest regret was how he treated his teammates. He's upfront about maturity issues as a player. It's something he's overcome only just recently. Honestly one of the cooler character redemption stories in sports.
  5. Maybe but both could be true too. He says release but he's talking about a trade request. He probably didn't expect to be let go after deciding against it. Either way, knowing Smith had a foot out the door redeems the move and Gettleman a lot in my eyes.
  6. This interview was shared a few weeks ago. Idk if this a new clip or it was just missed, but Steve squashes the myth that he was suddenly dropped by the Panthers. Says he asked for a release and even talked to other GMs.
  7. The last time a rookie worked for us was the #1 pick a decade ago.
  8. With Mark and Nick coming along we can give up the dream of Kai at center, just play him behind PJ at the 4 instead of Thor. He drew the short straw with the Clifford hire because he's nothing like the traditional bigs dude loves.
  9. Yeah my answer depends on the staff's board. I don't want them trading up to 1 to get Levis but if they feel strongly about Young or Stroud they should. If they're good with Levis or Richardson just hold at 9 and see how it falls.
  10. Takeaways Young's processing and decision making is elite. Composure under pressure and ability to scramble out of it is very encouraging in light of the size concerns Thinks the gap between Young and Stroud is not as wide as advertised. Highest floor of the top QBs Levis has an elite cannon that keeps defenses honest. Reads well but questionable decision making.
  11. The Corral fan club here is greatly exaggerated. No one's saying crown the guy (maybe rippadonn, but I think he's just having fun with y'all now), we're responding to the fans who act like we've seen enough of him to draw conclusions already.
  12. These videos are great, thanks for sharing @TheSpecialJuan. Wish he had one for Anthony Richardson but I doubt we'll get that now. Bryce Young CJ Stroud Will Levis
  13. I saw $10m somewhere that I've been running with. 5-8m on a one year I'd be good with.
  14. If it wasn't clear enough already: we are tanking. Not throwing games but in the sense that we have no delusions about this roster winning anytime soon so we're just looking ahead. The guys that are pushing or over 30 don't fit into the timeline of this rebuild and weren't winning for us anyway. No one's giving up a first rounder for Mason Plumlee. He's balling out like never before and it's barely helping us. At least there's a chance that by 2028 we'll have a squad that can actually take advantage of that pick.
  15. Yeah some revisionist history in this thread because I definitely remember size and character concerns being his main hang ups. He was viewed as like a poor man's Bryce Young.
  16. That depends on what your expectations are for this bridge QB role. Darnold will probably win you a few more games than Minshew, but is that worth the added cost? We can get anyone to just keep the spot warm for a rookie. Paying Darnold a premium only makes sense if you think he can win now and become the franchise QB still, or maybe if it’s like a one deal while you try to find stability at the position.
  17. Unless you think there's a chance he could take us deep into the playoffs in the short term there is no point in a bridge QB for us rn. If it's just about giving a rookie time on the bench to get ready then throw Corral out there in the interim. If we need a mentor and backup to keep the seat warmer there's cheaper options than Darnold.
  18. He’s a 32 year old center on an expiring contract bro. You want to extend him??
  19. They’re buying out his contract, so we got a second for Plumlee and Mark Williams is up.
  20. At some point he got cautious about the injury risk and his attempts at mitigating it just made things worse. He was larger and more fearless in his early seasons and you have to be to pull off the kind of running he was doing. He was also never good at sliding. Just got smaller and more scared as time went on
  21. Maybe the Reich era's different but this organization is too leaky to keep a move like this under wraps. There hasn't been a hint of us looking Bryce's way.
