  1. Not sure if DJ noticed but we need a QB
  2. I get the thought process but everytime stats are brought into it they don't correlate with what everyone keeps assuming. Like if anything it's the taller guys who tend to get their passes batted. Probably because unlike a short QB, they've never had put as much thought or work into their verticle placement so they get lazy at times. Would things have been easier for Steve Smith if he was six inches taller? Sure, but it was never a problem because he worked with what God gave him and overcame the disadvantage by being great. Young's height is part of his game for better or worse and he's the top prospect anyway. He's already overcome it and we're still acting like he's going to get every other pass batted down. Pros aren't that much taller than college players.
  3. Frame concerns are valid I'm but tired of hearing about height. Been proven time and time again here that it doesn't matter.
  4. A lot of people are focusing on the height of Reich's QBs but when you hear him talk Manning's IQ is clearly what had the biggest impact on him as a coach.
  5. I doubt we’ll ever get the full story. If Young’s the pick I’m probably off base. Stroud I believe is one of the two finalists.
  6. They’re definitely doing controlled leaks. I just don’t see a point in the trade down smokescreen if we really are down to the top 2 QBs.
  7. I don’t believe it’s between Young and Stroud. I don’t think they’d publicly entertain a trade down if it was. They would just talk to Houston, Arizona, and Indy in private. They traded up because AR and/or Levis was the target and they feared that all four QBs would be gone by 9. #5 wouldn’t be enough to insure their guy, and per Breer #3 cost as much as #1 because Chi wanted DJ. Now we control our own destiny and there’s no way we miss out on a QB. Everyone’s going to freak if its AR or Levis because “we could have stayed put at 9” but based on how they’re moving I don’t think the folks on staff agree. Missing out on a top QB was their worst case scenario and this was the only way they could insure that wouldn’t happen.
  8. I remember this being controversial because Cam didn't know the lingo. Said at Auburn they just held a number up on the sidelines to call plays.
  9. Strongly disagree. Richardson's a far better athlete and has a stronger arm. If he can develop passing ability even close to CJ he's going to be a force to reckon with in the NFL. Stroud's got the highest floor. Not a freak specimen like AR or elite IQ like Young but he's very solid with no real red flags.
  10. AR's exciting because he seems very coachable for a project. He made every throw in the combine, had the most maturity of all of them in his interviews. Kid's simply new to football and untapped. I hear the "#1 overall should be an instant franchise starter" point and that's completely fair, but if this staff is everything it's cracked up to be they can mold Richardson into something far greater than any of the other options.
  11. I’d like to hear those reasons. I really don’t think we can go wrong with these two.
  12. Yes but I’d rather they get it over and just stand behind their guy. As others have said though they probably haven’t done their due diligence on Young vs Stroud yet because they didn’t know we’d have the choice.
  13. I don’t see the vet teaching much football. That’s the coaches job. They’re for stability at backup and a conduct role model. Darnold has a good attitude and would make a good backup. Unfortunately for Sam, I’m not sure how much of his experience here matters since we have new coaches. If Brissett or anyone fit the scheme better they would work just as well.
  14. Most people only know this team through fantasy football and DJ being our only above average WR got fed well
  15. For all the durability talk Bryce was the healthier one in college and played more games.
  16. In that spirit imagine this place if we take Stroud and Young ends up being elite and more available.
  17. And can’t confirm but he may have been the first to claim Tepper loves Stroud
  18. Think his days are numbered now. Tepper’s going to have to open the checkbook for both football teams.
  19. This formation is fuggin stupid for us. Swiderski and Shinyashiki out of position. Bronico at LB…………..
  20. Because they only train the starters in the NFL right there are no QB rooms or anything
  21. Let him compete in camp. Same as before the trade. Why are ya’ll so eager to get rid of a QB prospect who costs nothing and is close to that in trade value?
  22. Yeah he is there to develop him and for what it’s worth, he doesn’t seem to have a strong enough preference on Young vs Stroud in these videos to put his neck on the line for one over the other.
  23. I want Young, Stroud, or Richardson in that order. I trust the staff to pick their guy between those three. If it’s Levis I’m going to be concerned.
