Just to add some fuel to the fire I plugged Bryce and CJ into a Body Mass Index calculator. Bryce I measured at his combine weight and listed weight at Alabama. The results kinda surprising: Bryce Young combine BMI: 29.3 Bryce Young Alabama BMI: 27.8 CJ Stroud combine BMI: 26.7 Underweight = <18.5 Normal weight = 18.5–24.9 Overweight = 25–29.9 Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater Meaning Young has more body mass than Stroud even at his reported playing weight. So who are you more afraid for on a football field? The short, stockier guy or the taller one who is 10-20 pounds heavier?

Two things stick out for me: Before the CHI trade they were tied steady to Young and there was little debate about it. Stroud's agent is Deshaun Watson's. They won't avoid him forever but I can't imagine they're eager to work with him.

Not defending Bryce, he's undersized however you want to look at it. I'm 5'9 185 and think I could take dude in a fight. I agree with the point though that all the Tua fearmongering is dumb when there's no concerns about CJ being the same size if not slighter.

You can't measure size by weight only. 200 pounds at 5'9 is a tank. At 6'5 that's a stick figure.

I wouldn't be so certain that Richardson won't start day 1. The bar is pretty low in Carolina rn and his biggest holdup is he lacks game experience.

I really like the character of all three. Bryce is a natural born leader, CJ is confident and hungry, AR's mature and coachable

If our primo staff can't coach AR up no one can. I'll be excited if he's the pick because a bold move like that means they believe strongly in what he's capable of.

You're assuming both teams are fine with taking either guy. Maybe the Panthers are and the Texans aren't.

Offers for #1 kicked into overdrive after the combine, you also had Derek Carr being considered at that time. Panthers said the trade was about controlling their destiny. They couldn't afford to wait. I think it's more likely that they went into it liking Young and the combine added others to the conversation.
