  1. @frankw said it best if we have to coddle Bryce mentally we've already lost. That was the whole point of drafting the dude.
  2. Eddie knew it too that's why he shrugged.
  3. His court date's the 13th. Looks like the NBA's sweeping it under the rug until the legal process plays out. They'll suspend someone over a IG video though.
  4. Adding another middle man on top of the GM doesn't change anything. The experienced football people he hired to make decisions are our wonderful staff with their pedigrees. Even if you want to let them off the hook by blaming all of our woes on the Teppers adopting Bryce, the owner has to give someone the authority. Does this Football Czar get choose whether to fire or keep staff? What happens if he sucks too?
  5. Embracing the low effort posts huh? Can't beat em, join em?
  6. I agree but that includes the other QBs from Bryce's class. Everyone's situation and development timeline is going to be different. Point is half of a rookie season isn't enough to draw conclusions about any quarterback whether that's Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf.
  7. https://www.panthers.com/video/must-see-bryce-young-locates-jonathan-mingo-deep-downfield-for-40-yard-pickup You're right but Mingo's cutting outside so there wasn't a whole lot of wiggle room to begin with. I'm thinking about the open catches in middle of the field. It's like he's fixated on getting the ball to it's predetermined spot and doesn't apply touch based on the coverage. He just throws everything like a touch pass. Think we can chalk that up to the playcalling and being a rookie but it's still surprising when extending plays was his calling card in Bama.
  8. I will say for the noodle arm theory, even in the rare moments he's hit an open guy downfield the recievers look like they nearly have to come to a stop for the ball. I don't think I've seen him hit an open man in full stride.
  9. Everyone watching knows whether we're about to pass or a run and we don't even attempt to misdirect. There isn't a QB on earth that would thrive in this "system".
  10. For you soccer haters imagine if Matt Rhule ran a scheme only he understood and shuffled players positions every week that's Mr. Lattanzio
  11. We have a chicken and egg situation. Are we not going deep because of his strength or is it some combination of our recievers, bad protection, and that we don't even try to keep defenses honest with play action? Probably all of the above but I believe his arm strength is the least of our concerns there.
  12. Look I hate to defend this team rn but let's not pretend like the pick was a reach. Media consensus was Young over Stroud.
  13. Without a doubt. Same way Rhule fleeced him out of $60 million. Hedgefund man thinks he can come up with an algorithm to get to the Super Bowl.
  14. Think you have to keep him out there at this point. We've made our bed. If Bryce is a bust we could be back drafting QBs as early as 2025. We need to be sure what we have in him before writing off the trade as a loss.
  15. Cam definitely set unrealistic expectations. Bryce has been underwhelming no matter how you slice it but playing at elite level out the gate like Stroud's doing is rare air.
  16. A few key penalties change that entire game. I'm optimistic that he'll learn from his mistakes. They were bad ones this time but I still see more good than bad from him. This loss was mostly on the linemen; Minshew was chilling back there and we had no answer for their pass rush.
  17. this is going in circles but props to y’all for keeping it on topic and civil
  18. That was different because no one was under the impression Rhule wanted Cam back. They had to convince the fanbase he did because all of his actions up to that point had said otherwise. He knew his job rode on the Darnold decision and that’s why he threw him back out there as soon as he saw an opening to bench Cam. This staff absolutely lives or dies by their decision to draft Bryce. I don’t buy that they would put their careers on the line for a QB they didn’t actually want just because their boss showed a preference.
  19. It's been a bad trend here this season, see "the staff wanted Stroud" narrative despite them repeatedly saying the opposite.
  20. Yeah I don't see anything. There's usually an official announcement and he's still listed as practice squad on the website
  21. Chinn’s back to back touchdowns is the only performance since that compares for me. But insane as that was Luvu keeping his foot on their necks all game felt like Luke again.
  22. The WR this team need is either going to come with drama or be a tire kick in the twilight of their career like Theilen is let's not kid ourselves
  23. Way too early but Miller is dusting Scoot on the stat sheet and is playing as well or better than Wemby. Might mess around and be the next Paul George after all.
