  1. I think Young's probably not going to play well, but I'm not going to base it on training camp or a scrimmage -- not the least of all when Young was reportedly pretty good in last year's scrimmage: https://catcrave.com/posts/carolina-panthers-bryce-young-proving-size-doesnt-matter
  2. From my experience, yes. If you don't like seeing 3/4 of every post being about Bryce Young being short, weak, dumb, frail, slow (I recall some plays last year that speak to the contrary there) and numerous other terms, don't open any threads.
  3. Tepper having a lot of money is not a positive, it's a colossal negative.
  4. I don't understand this concept of "hiding them" or "not exposing them". They just went 2-15. You think every other team doesn't already know they suck? A run play for 2 yards, an incomplete pass and a sack isn't gonna make things more obvious for anyone, nor is it going to pacify the people on here demanding all the starters play a whole half just so they can create new rage-threads. https://x.com/josephperson/status/1823007266758336894
  5. Double-decker sandwich: I could see this team's run defense being a strong suit in a lot of games. Subpar pass protection, bad snaps and OL penalties are going to ruin a lot of drives. The all-white uniforms still look cool. I am cautious, but very optimistic about one of the rookies on this team. Bryce is likable but just not quite good enough to be a franchise QB. Dave Canales' upbeat, youthful energy is a welcome change from stoic Reich, folded-arms Wilks and A Slob to Be Named Later.
  6. I think Canales sat most of the starters because he knows this team's depth is shorter than the rainfall we just got in the last hour.
  7. It's not the plan, per sé, but it's yet another organic tank on the back of several horrible trades and drafts. There's not enough talent here to win. That's not really tanking in any way. I think they want to win, but are as unsuccessful as the gang in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" were with any get-rich-quick scheme.
  8. 0-17 or 1-16 and he's one and done, but despite my pessimism in thinking this is absolutely an 0-17 team on paper, he should get two seasons at minimum. Let him have a go with his own QB.
  9. If you don't settle for 3, I'd keep the 2024 O/U at 5.5, but not for wins -- for touchdowns.
  10. There will probably be more dropped passes, penalties and turnovers than points scored this season. 150 points is gonna be a tough, tough ask.
  11. I don't think any coach could make this roster even remotely competitive. If Canales is at least not out of his element strategically, give him a year or two. This business of giving up on a rookie coach 3/4 of the way into his first preseason game with 31 starters out is crazy.
  12. Thus far we've run 7 pass plays which have totaled -12 yards.
  13. the Carolina Panthers are now on the clock.
  14. Also, hell, who knows how many of us will even have power to see this game. Maybe Canales did us a favor.
  15. To be fair, if it wasn't for Randy Fasani leading two fourth-quarter drives to overcome the 16-0 deficit the starters bestowed upon him, the Panthers wouldn't have won any preseason games in 2002, either. And while some extremists on here will tell you even Fasani was better than Young, he was not. Also, losing 27-3 (field goal from a turnover) in preseason is pretty meaningless. With as many impactful guys being held out as it appears will be the case, just watch it for a bit, realize that losing these games means less than it will in a month, and pray no one is injured -- or this is an 0-17 outfit for sure.
  16. A lot of wideouts take time to develop, and they need QBs who can and are willing to get them the ball. I don't see a ton of that this year for a few reasons, so it'd behoove them to get him in space on some reverses.
  17. Legette and Young are not a good fit. But Legette hasn't played a snap yet. I heard friends telling me DJ Moore was a bust for most of 2018. That aged like milk.
  18. I believe you have those backwards. Also had some TD passes fumbled away and a few picks dropped. I'm not sure why it means so much to people to see Young play in a preseason game. Even if he plays great, it still doesn't mean anything about Week 1.
  19. I'm skeptical of that. The crowd was small in Charlotte, but the cameras were rolling.
  20. I imagine he'll be more Matt Corral than Matt Moore.
  21. I expect all-new quarterbacks, centers, left tackles and linebackers next year. Kicker's also a revolving door annually, so look for another one there as well.
  22. Meh, yearly occurrence. They're either invincible and awful or made of glass and good. Either way it's just more losing but we're used to this, so 17 more isn't that surprising.
  23. My wholly uneducated opinion is a torn Achilles. Anything that doesn't keep him out all year would be a welcome surprise.
  24. I'm aware and I'm hopeful of that being the case.
