  1. Yeah I like Canales. He's been given a lemon for the most part but he's a high-energy guy who could be good if given some good pieces and some freedom.
  2. Brown won't. Horn I'd entertain, but I think Morgan's less likely to be Trader Fitt, the architect of 3-4 playoff teams (but not the one that employed him), and more likely to scour waiver wires and work free agency. Whoever expected a quick fix was delusional. This roster is full of holes and it's not because of the GM and coach who've been in their positions for 1 game. It's because of years and years of sustained ineptitude, poor trades and drafts.
  3. You have to pick whoever is willing to play here. At least 3/4 of the people you listed will have their agents tell Morgan "we're not playing there".
  4. I respect Canales for giving individual players a chance today. He put Mingo and Young in positions to make plays and they turned the ball over more often than they made plays. He's got little to work with and I'm not pinning this on the coach. Young's going to have his phantom injury around Week 9 or Week 10. Until then, just deal with this. It's not going to be anything but 0-17 regardless of who's taking snaps. Look at that defense...
  5. The problem is Dalton's not going to win you any games (and whichever QB next year who won't refuse to play here won't either) because there are so many holes throughout the roster. I'd take losing 37-21 over 47-10, sure, but I'd prefer to win and we're not going to see any wins until 2026 at the earliest.
  6. It's not on the QB when you fumble the ball, and he did it twice in his first two touches. Young being awful is a separate category; when you have the ball in your hands and you hold it like a loaf of bread it's an individual skill issue, not a QB issue.
  7. QB-wise, 5 turnovers is worse than 2. The 2009 game had promise and expectation of success. I look at 2 picks and a 47-10 loss and think, well, that's probably not the worst it'll be this season.
  8. Completely agree. Piss on the concept of "second favorites" and "backup teams". The NFL doesn't deserve that option.
  9. Randy Fasani was the worst. You could give him 17 games as a rookie and he's not putting up 200 yards, let alone 300, in one of them. He just wasn't a quarterback (but he was drafted). Clausen, Weinke, Young, Mayfield are all in a tier below him.
  10. There are a lot of problems. Tepper's No. 1. You can bench Young, cut him, do whatever, and the root cause of the issues is still there. Young is a major issue and so is an abject lack of talent (due in large part to "trade every good player for draft picks and then use the draft picks on busts" strategy) on the defensive side of the ball.
  11. Points! Wow, I forgot what it's like to score!
  12. Damn it! I said 31-0 at halftime. Missed it by one point. 55-0 loss it is.
  13. There have been some cool play designs but the ones that worked turned into fumbles or were called back.
  14. Poor guy. He just has no confidence and no ability to make a play and get momentum. I feel bad for him that he knows he's gonna be a historic footnote to the first 0-17 season but at least he's getting paid. I feel worse for whoever has PSLs.
  15. Which defensive player is getting this sack?
  16. I'd like to see the All-22 on a couple of those.
  17. We're all waiting to see the third down sack.
  18. It is pretty crazy. I've never seen anything like it. You know the first touchdown is gonna come back for holding or OPI, too. We both know.
  19. 34 penalty yards 39 offensive yards It's gonna be close most games this year.
  20. This might be the first game ever where there's literally no highlight play on offense, defense or special teams. Not one.
  21. I'm setting the odds at 1000% that the first score of the season will be wiped off by a holding penalty, and will be a turnover right after.
