The evolution to being a perennial winner.
Khaki Lackey replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think that’s the plan. If the staff looked at Fields as a question mark, pairing him with a defense that can’t get off the field on third downs isn’t doing him any favors. Hence the “Darnold + Horn > Fields” narrative. This staff knows that Darnold is a gamble, but not one that sets us back big time long term. If Sam stinks it up, another year of draft/FA would greatly benefit a rookie. Who knows, after the season, maybe Watson will have his mess sorted out, or we draft a rookie. I like the fact that this staff seems to be thinking long term, Making contingency plans, throwing a lot of things against the wall and moving on quickly from whatever doesn’t stick. In on every deal. I like it a lot. -
They spent all that allotted time practicing check downs in long yardage situations

seems like there's a lot of optimism.....
Khaki Lackey replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
That’s what I’m afraid of too. However, Teddy had mediocre down to a science and the staff didn’t waste any time shuffling him out of here. -
He’s a positive happy guy and for the most part, a winner. It drives people insane.

He saw tape on Taysom Hill and said, "By golly, I could do that!"

The Jets OL in this video reminds me of the 2014 Pathers OL. The kind that make you concerned that a shotgun snap is going to get intercepted.

apparently there was some drama in our draft room
Khaki Lackey replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't thinks it's that as much as being wary of the OL bust rate. -
Does it really happen often enough to have reliable data?

Tryin’ to make a roster out of Fitty cents (A Horn and a tackle)
Khaki Lackey replied to SCP's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well fug me with a stove pipe. The Panther that hails from South Cack is back. The only thing worth keeping around from the 2015-19 era. Forces of nature are at work here. Cosmic alignment and karma/science type poo. Maybe even chakra balancing and what not. I don't know, but something is happening in Panther land. -
Panthers Trade 2nd rounder w/ Bears for more picks
Khaki Lackey replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
These guys seem to really feel confident with their later round picks. I hope they’re right. I hope they’re not getting into “5 pennies is better than one dime” territory. -
Round 1 - Carolina Panthers Select CB Jaycee Horn

That’s exactly where I’m at with it -
Any rants about leaving the forum or no longer being a Panthers fan must be long winded and full of angst and hyperbole.

My theory is that Teddy didn't take coaching very well. Nice guy, but a little hard headed a la RGIII. There were a couple of Rhule pressers where Coach seemed exasperated with Teddy. "We don't reach the ball out at the goal line" etc. If their philosophy is to keep throwing things at important positions until you find your franchise guy, I prefer that to digging in and doubling down on mistakes rather than admitting failure.

He's gonna make Damiere Byrd look like Armanti Edwards.

I don't know if it's Rhule or Fitty, but I like the fact that players that underperform are shown the door. Rivera/Hurney would have Whitehead inked for 5 years.

...and that's why you would fail in the high stakes world of traveling hotel massage.

Teams get spoiled and complacent when they have a really dependable long snapper. I blame our lack of success on JJ. Should have been cut years ago.

Teddy Bridgewater likely on the outs in Carolina
Khaki Lackey replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wish our coach and FO would have kept their disappointment with Teddy a little closer to the vest. I guess you really can't really keep this stuff from leaking. -
Child injured by Britt Reid has permanent brain injuries
Khaki Lackey replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
he should donate the twelve bucks that he saved by not getting an Uber to the family. Moron. -
I have a hard time with the giving up a lot of picks. I’m going to go out on an unpopular opinion limb here: I would be ok having another great draft and FA season to fill in damn near all the holes even if that means another year of Teddy. There. I said it. Get Teddy’s contract off the books and get a QB next year when the league is (hopefully) less QB desperate.
