  1. I really like Fitts and Rhules philosophy. It seems to be, any draft pick after the first 20 seems to be a crapshoot, so get a lot of them. QB purgatory? Get a bunch, run them up the flagpole and move on if no one salutes. Recognize and move on quickly from errors. Definitely different from what we are used to.
  2. Don’t want to show too much of our Cinnabon heavy playbook. Or Reggie Ray only has two concussions left on his pitch count.
  3. I saw that their preseason record was 3-0 and thought it was a misprint. How’d they get an extra preseason game?
  4. Yeah. Still a fluid situation. Fields could light it up then flame out like RG3/Kaepernick. I don’t personally find it realistic to have everything 100% certain right this very minute.
  5. Like a lot of things in life, the truth may be somewhere in the middle. Maybe he does better here, but only good enough to be a respectable backup QB/ Lower tier starter. (Kirk cousins being the poster child for those recently.) That situation is a win/win in regard to people that want to continue arguing about it
  6. A skosh over .500 is respectable, I guess. Those "play not to lose/defensive" HCs typically beat the bad teams, lose to the good ones and have anomaly seasons where their talent takes them farther. Rhule seems way more adaptive than either of those two.
  7. Time and distance from Rhule’s tenure there will stop that. As for now, if you have to fill out the bottom of the roster with JAGs, go with the JAGs you know. At the very least, we’ll know that they’ll be good locker room guys.
  8. It's AJ Klein. Right now he's thinking, "Not again!!"
  9. Year 4 and 5 need to be wining seasons. Preferably year 3 too. I would want more than two seasons to rebuild a franchise. I’ve got no problem letting him work his entire contract unless years 3 and four are absolutely abysmal.
  10. It’s great seeing them show flashes early. Very encouraging. It’s better than waiting 3 years for the likes of Greg Little to get it, and the hopeful excuses that come with it. ”Ok. Sometimes OTs take 4-5 years to flash.”
  11. Finding out that you aren’t good enough on a national stage probably isn’t fun, regardless of the price tag. Being called a failure and washed up sucks at any age, but I suppose it would be pretty humiliating at 24. I’m sure it’s nice to not have to worry about money, but I’d bet most pros take little solace in that when facing failure.
  12. Well, I’ll get long winded if you insist. The kid is 24 and his career depends on this year. His life is going to radically change in the next 5 months. That’s a lot of pressure and I don’t have a problem with our staff not giving him the Jets treatment.
  13. I get that, but this staff is going to find us a QB. If it's obvious it's not Darnold, they'll move on quickly. We could end up like the Bucs. Stacked roster, find the missing piece, then championships. It would be even better if we won a SB with our own young QB rather than a geriatric rental that's going to have his number retired up North.
  14. Thank you. In today's NFL, secondary and DL are prioritized, and rightfully so. It's literally our coach's second year and our GM's first. Calm the fug down, people.
  15. Tis always been as such. The Huddle is a mysterious and whimsical place. Seriously though. The crop of alts that come to generate clicks during the offseason get weaker every year. Must be writer's block or something.
  16. It's the TeeBow theory of relativity. The same way Charlie Sheen makes me feel like I have my poo together.
  17. He was basically saying that tackles are rare and you're not going to upgrade from the waiver wire. It didn't really seem like he was saying we were actively trying to put a trade for a LT together.
  18. lol yeah, if there's one place that has an abundance of patience, it's The Huddle
  19. No, if we don't trot Sam out there to hand the ball to a second string running back in the vanilla "don't show the playbook" offense, against an opposing team's 2s, in a preseason game, we are just sitting around and waiting for things to magically fix themselves.
  20. I thought we were signing these injury prone guys because we now had sports science and poo. I'm getting really close to demanding answers.
  21. I didn't have high hopes for him as an analyst, but I thought he did great. He was smart, funny, and charismatic.
  22. Yeah, that's the dumbest one that gets parroted here. Cam was strolling like he was shell hunting on the beach. I think some people forget that Ron was an NFL libebacker. "We want a tough team!!! Ron is so soft!!" "How dare he say he would hit a QB!!"
