  1. You really think Sam thought he was doing great and needed his head coach to tell him otherwise? These guys spend half their life with position coaches in the film room. I don't imagine they're showing highlight reels and high-fiving about how awesome they are.
  2. I'm ok with this. The more Cam plays, the more predictable it's going to get until he gets the whole playbook down.
  3. I guess. I mean the jury is out on Fields and it’s arguable that him playing behind our line could have set him back Darnold Style. Slater? That’s just hindsight. We could do that about every draft pick ever. It’s also possible that Rhule and Fitts don’t like the idea of bringing in a rookie QB unless the team is more complete, right or wrong.
  4. You left out the part about going after Stafford and Watson. Not bad decisions, just bad luck. That plays a roll too.
  5. If anything, Rhule was too honest about Teddy. He was telegraphing that we were done with Teddy before the season ended last year.
  6. Yeah, it's all just fan fiction at this point. I throw mine out there. I heard from a very reliable source that Cam called Tepper and Rhule and DEMANDED to be brought back. Rhule immediately agreed, because he was hypnotized by swagger the likes of which he'd never witnessed. Tepper signed off on it because he admired the "giant brass balls" approach. He then lit a cigar with a hundred dollar bill and said, "Just win, Cammy!"
  7. I'm telling you, it's the yips. He had this 1+ second pause as he was looking at his first read. He just couldn't pull the trigger. I'm not sure if it was caused by the beating he took behind the Jets OL (and ours) but it's not super unreasonable to think that it might could have been coached out of him. Sucks that it didn't work out, but at least we're moving on.
  8. and it don't stop,cuz it's a 187 til the quarterback drops.
  9. Different crew of posters, mayne. During the losing streak, a lot of the more levelheaded posters checked out because of the crybaby posters. Even the cartoony offseason alts came back. The estrogen level on here is hard to take duing a losing streak.
  10. Yep. People like to forget that we went after Stafford and Watson. I thought Sam was worth a try. It's not like they gave up a "kings ransom" for him like some folks like to portray it. I think the biggest mistake that the staff made was thinking they could fix Sam's yips behind this Oline. They couldn't and now they're moving on from it.
  11. I still believe in Rhule, mainly because he seems very adaptable, acknowledges mistakes and moves on fairly quickly from them, and that's a breath of fresh air compared to the stubbornness from a lot of coaches. He and Fitts have revamped the roster and our defense and skill positions on offense look great. If they get the QB and OLine situation fixed, look out, because what they've done with the other 80% of the roster has been great. I wouldn't want to be judged based on one and a half years into a rebuild, so I extend him that leverage as far as my judgement goes.
  12. Holy poo boys! Sam completed a pass to his first read without a two second flinch/yip!! They coached it out of him! Super bowl here we come!!!
  13. Sam is at least humble and accountable…and he’ll probably yield us a higher draft pick. Sam it is.
  14. This only way the Sam project works is if he had adequate protection. We just continued his ruin by out Jetting the Jets. He’s got this yip/hesitation. He’s incapable of just letting the ball go on his first read. Probably due to four straight years of getting his ass kicked. It probably can’t be coached out of him at this point.
  15. Doesn’t matter. We’ll just get another corner.
  16. “I knew I should have kept the receipt.”
  17. Jason La Canfora tweeted that an unnamed source said that, "April Showers would bring him in." Not sure who she is. Stay tuned.
  18. Chud is so overrated here. Teams were stacking the box and daring Cam to throw. Cam's long ball was great and he had a prime Smitty catching them...and a really decent Oline. 6-10, 7-9. Year 2 teams were teeing off on constant zone reads and the narrative was "Chud's trying to showcase his genius to get a HC job." I never understood this take as I don't see how sucking leverages oneself. It worked on getting him that HC gig, so what do I know. However, his results elsewhere suggest I might have been right.
  19. Ok here’s a longview positive. If Moton and Christiansen are the answer at tackle, interior OL is a lot easier to fix.
  20. I’m not interested in your opinions. I just wanted you to know what the word “literal” meant in the off chance that you might stop making poo up then saying that others “literally” said it.
  21. He literally did not say that. he literally said, “a lot of it is on me.” And when I say “literally,” I actually literally mean it in the literal sense of the word.
