The Panthers could try drafting a kick returner, but that didn't turn out so well the last time they did that.

A Dehaven smile and a Rodgers scowl... As in.... Where was my help?

The Carolina Panthers learned early in 2014 just how much they would miss Ted Ginn Jr. Early and often the punt return game of Carolina cost the team opportunity and momentum. Neither Corey Brown nor Brenton Bersin looked at all competent returning punts. Now in 2015, there is a real possibility Ted Ginn could return to the Panthers. Currently, Ginn is under contract in salary cap strapped Arizona where is due to make a base salary of $3,250,000. This number does not match his production in Arizona (14 receptions, 0 TDs). According to Sport Trac , the Cardinals could save $1,750,000 by releasing Ginn this year, enough money to replace his production and then some. If Ginn is released, I feel the Panthers would again be very interested in Ginn for a few reasons. First and foremost, Ginn would instantly fix the punt return problem. That fact alone may be enough for the Panthers to pull the trigger. Second, Cam Newton and Ted Ginn would quickly recover the chemistry they found in 2013. Cam would not be forced to once again get to know a brand new receiver during the offseason. Ginn was well liked by Cam and every other member of the Panthers squad and front office. Third, Ginn could mentor fellow Ohio State product Corey Brown. Ginn and Brown are a very similar type of player. I think they would have an instant positive vibe between the two of them. Ginn is 29 years old and could still provide a return game for a few more years. Admit it, wouldn't you love to see a three wide set with both Ginn and Brown stretching the field as Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen play underneath? I know I would.

Props to the guy in the Stephen Davis Jersey -
That sounds doable. I'd like threads to be created around players that may be of particular interest to the Panthers like the LSU kid
-
Reminds me of the saving private Ryan scene about complaints going up, not down.

Anyone have any good ideas on organizing the combine coverage? A single thread sounds silly. But a thread for each player sounds just as bad. Maybe a NFL Combine forum for each individual and then more in depth topics in the main forum? What say you? Also....

They aren't happy I'm sure. But they work for Jerry Richardson. What are the chances employees of Richardson air dirty laundry about the NFL in public?
-
They are, but you will never hear it in the media. It's an on going closed door discussion.

Fox Sports says http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/carolina-panthers-greg-hardy-unlikely-to-escape-nfl-s-punishment-020915

They also said Cam was starting week 1.

The NFL's determination of misconduct is a much larger umbrella than a court of law's definition of a crime.

Here are the biggest fines in NFL history according to this article... http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/biggest-fines-nfl-history-article-1.1925308 1 million being the biggest. I am not sure a 5-6 million dollar fine is even doable. I'm not sure Hardy has that kind of money laying around.
-
It is the money that matters here, not the playing time. I suppose it could be possible for Hardy to avoid suspension by paying a hefty fine though. I don't think that has happened before, but it would make sense.
-
I don't feel those circumstances are relevant. The two things I think that matter here are - Was damage done to the NFL brand - Was Hardy at all responsible
-
Hardy's defense team paid to have them done. I don't think it would be a smart move for Hardy to deny the NFL request to read them. Might make Goodell's decision a whole lot easier.
-
So now that the court case is settled and the dust has started to clear, attention now turns to Hardy's future. Sources inside the Panthers organization continue to state Hardy will not be pursued by the Panthers. Regardless, Hardy will be one of the heaviest sought after free agents of 2015. One factor that will determine Hardy's worth is the possibility of a looming suspension. While Hardy was not found guilty in a court of law in NC (the judge trial no longer valid), there is a precedence set by Ben Roethlisberger in 2010. Roethlisberger received a 6 game suspension for an incident where the prosecutors decided not to even press charges. Like Roethlisberger, Hardy is cleared of all criminal activity. However, also like Roethlisberger, Hardy showed judgement that reflected poorly on the NFL. Roger Goodell will sift through the original court transcript and the settlement agreed to by his accuser and likely come to the conclusion that Hardy is not blameless in this whole mess. We can also look at the Adrian Peterson debacle last season. Peterson spent time on the exempt list and then was also suspended when he pleaded no contest to his charges. Peterson's court outcome was different, but the damage done to the NFL's image was the same. Make no mistake, the punishments handed down in these instances have less to do with the cases and more to do with the damage done to the NFL brand. If the damage is done though player misconduct, there will be monetary punishment. If the NFL wishes to maintain any credibility they still have in matters of violence and abuse, they will have no other choice but to suspend Hardy. Suspending Hardy will server two purposes. First, it will penalize him where it hurts the most, in his wallet, something the exempt list did not do. Secondly, it will again set an example and serve as a reminder to all other NFL players that the 2015 season will be of zero tolerance to domestic abuse. For these reasons, I expect Greg Hardy to spend the first part of the 2015 season on suspension.

That's possible. I do expect a legitimate veteran OT to be signed though. We won't go into the season with a rookie at LT and I'm not sure Remmers is up to the task.. Of course, I was adamant that the Panthers were not silly enough to go into the season with a Chandler / Bell tackle combination last year. They proved me wrong.

We need to get Bert and Marc together for a no holds barred cage match.
-
It really can go either way. The fair thing would be to count the commish list as time served and everyone get on with their lives.

She has been regularly updating her Facebook page. Apparently the NC justice system hasn't signed up.

Apparently you never saw the way he treated Matt Ryan.
