  1. As most Carolina Panthers fans google Kurt Coleman, I thought maybe I would make it a little easier to learn a bit about him. Kurt Coleman Can play both strong safety and free safety. Age: 26 5'10 195lbs Selected in the 7th round of the 2010 draft by Philadelphia. Spent his rookie year with Panthers Defensive Coordinator Sean McDermott. After spending 4 seasons in Philadelphia, he played a year in Kansas City where he began to come into his own. According to the Kansas City Star ... The article, written a month ago, holds Coleman in a very positive light. I see many people compare him to Thomas Decoud, which isn't a very good comparison at all. Decoud finished the 2014 season with a -5.8 on pro football focus, a 10 point swing from Coleman. Decoud also is a few years removed from playing his best football. Coleman just had his best season as a pro in 2014. At only 26 years of age there is a good chance the Panthers are signing him on the upswing of his career. This isn't the type of big name signing that gets the casual fans excited, At the absolute worst, Coleman is solid veteran depth at both safety positions and adds special teams expertise. At best, he could supplant Harper or Boston as a staring safety. This is a solid signing that all Panthers fans should be happy about.
  2. Kroeger is an advocate of the Huddle and does a great job. I don't think Charlotte will have him long term. He is too good for a medium market.
  3. Yeah, Cam will be pretty upset he will be making over a million dollars a game next year if he is franchised.....
  4. It is no longer PI day. Please remove all your pie in this thread.
  5. No, he used it to describe a series of events. I forget which events but it was like first this happened, bup bup bup , ended with this.
  6. It is a universal expression that means both everything and nothing

  8. By now it has become clear to most Carolina Panthers fans that again this season the free agency frenzy that applies to the rest of the league won't be entertained in Carolina. This may be upsetting to the casual Panthers fan, but for people who are really paying attention... this is no surprise. Jon Beason once told me "If you aren't getting better, you are getting worse". He was speaking about his offseason regimen, but I think the same principle applies to the Panthers this offseason. And guess what, the Panthers are better... much better... than at this point a year ago Here is how: 1. Cam Newton is healthy. How quickly we forget that Cam Newton is a year removed from ankle surgery. Last season he didn't take a legitimate practice snap until training camp. At this point last season, Cam had zero receivers he had ever thrown a pass to and zero opportunity to remedy that situation. This year... the opposite is true. 2. Those rookies. What other team in the NFL can say they made the playoffs with 8... yes 8 rookies making major contributions to the team? Kelvin Benjamin, Andrew Norwell, Trai Turner, Corey Brown, Bene Benwikere, Tre Boston, Adarius Glanton, Kony Ealy... All stepped in and not only played, but played well. These young guys should be even more improved in 2015 having benefited from actual playing time including post season snaps. That experience is invaluable. 3. Remmers and Oher. I know, I know, you are concerned about the offensive tackles. So am I. But I am not nearly as concerned as I was last season. I am not expecting this to be a pro bowl caliber combination, but I am expecting at the very least for this to be a significant improvement over the Chandler/Bell combination from last offseason. Remmers has already proved he is a marked upgrade over Chandler. Oher is the only question mark here. Put all of those things together, and the picture becomes much clearer. The Carolina Panthers do not need to rush and overpay in free agency for players that aren't the perfect fit. The areas of need that remain on the Panthers roster at this point can easily be addressed in the NFL draft in May at a fraction of the cost. Considering the number of starters GM Dave Gettleman found in last season's draft, asking him two find two or three more this year doesn't seem too daunting of a task. My advice? Sit back, relax, and enjoy the fact that the Panthers aren't a team that overpays for other team's players. It is much nicer drafting the players that other teams covet, isn't it?
  9. Why would he be talking to the Raiders when he is signing in Carolina on a cheap one year deal because he is loyal?
  10. Have I mentioned I am a huge Gettleman admirer? Listen to the latest podcast. Some good insight on why he is top notch.
  11. Anyone can break big name news. The real professionals report the UDFAs.
  12. Yeah, we have had real issues getting people to converse over the past 12 years.
  13. You all should listen to this guy. For some reason I really like him.
  14. Keep in mind for him to sign means he had a workout and a physical. He must have impressed to get two years.
  15. Per his agent... Williams is in his 4th NFL season, most recently with the Jaguars. A journeyman CB and WR, Williams will hope to catch on with the Panthers. Most likely, you will see him on special teams where his top end speed would be an asset. Williams has only played a single defensive snap in his career according to Ian Rapoport.
  16. Its not the Panthers fault you aren't paying attention.
