Panthers 1st day of voluntary workouts

I understand more the break he took after the rookie season even though I blasted him for it. If you get butt fuged for 17 straight weeks your ass is probably sore and needs a break. -

I mean I guess all edges could remind you of Brown if you want them too -

I'm guessing you didn't watch the clip as he specifically said he's hearing T-Mac could be taken before Jeanty. I just assumed the question was meant to disregard Hunter, as he's not falling outside the Top 3 anyways, so if he was included, it would be a dumb question. -

I hated the Anderson pick when it was made and that 2000 class was pathetic. Should be lower -
Yeah, apparently I have more confidence in BC as a starter and heir apparent to Moton than 32 NFL GM's. I don't think he even got a nibble on the open market. Still glad to have him as depth though.

this Jalon Walker kid is starting to remind me each & everyday more & more of Everette Brown & if history repeats itself we might be screwed again this year...just saying -
I didn't even know that about Warren. Count me out on guys who are scared to workout because they know their metrics won't look good.

I see the GLEAM in Bryce Young's eyes. This is gonna be a special year.

Depends on the defense. With the running game keeping them in games and controlling the ball if the D is middle of the road they could win the nfc south

There's a lot of great info in this for the Huddler that isn't intimidated by reading. Take just the stuff on defensive philosophy + scheme for example. Right away, we see where the loss and return of Derrick Brown will play a big influence. It also gives us insight into why the team targeted Moehrig as aggressively as they did despite his coverage grade since he's going to be likely down in the box often. I also had a suspicion when trying to do some armchair scouting that the defense paid less attention to the power-side and more to the field vs. boundary. Going to be interesting going back and rewatching film with that in mind. I'm wondering if this was due to the rebooted CB room and making it easier on them. Might do things slightly different this season if they're more confident in the personnel? -
Too many scenarios in play. We are waiting to see what Jacksonville and LA does before finalizing a decision. Could see Graham drop, Walker be there at 8, Williams or Stewart be the Edge they want, get another OL, or YOLO and Starks be the pick. They could trade down and look to compile another 2nd or 3rd and further add to the defense. Nothing is in stone but I know that most “fans” may not be happy that the pick wasn’t a sexy media name they were hoping for.

Turning down two 1st for Burns just to turn around and trade him a year later for waaaaaaaay less was just peak Panthering.

I don't agree. Olsen looked like a noticably quicker prospect with the same size. Olsen would go top 5 in this draft would be my guess vs 31st. He ran a 4.55 and Warren looks 4.7+ (or 4.6ish if his school did it at his proday). There is a reason he didn't work out at the combine or his proday and it's obvious. He is a solid but not great TE prospect. He only has room to lose by showing his real numbers.

We drafted a qb a year before a bumper qb class so i would not be surprised to see us draft a wr (tet) a year after a bumper wr class (Harrison jr., Nabers, Odunze, Brian Thomas jr., xavier worthy, ricky pearsall, and XL (all first rounders). Just keep using those first round picks and we may get one in a year or two. -
Omarion Hampton is a very good running back prospect, but Ashton Jeanty completely breaks the scale compared to the rest of the class. It is hard, as someone with no dog in this fight, to believe that all the Carolina fans are simply being perfectly objective and reasonable when they try to equate Hampton to the dude who just had an all-time great season.

I bet Young did a little more football stuff this off-season. Or at least one would hope...

I think ideally with Warren you're looking at a Jason Witten type guy. He's not a guy that wows you athletically, he just does everything right and despite not wowing you, at the end of the game and the end of the season he's put up good numbers and had a big impact. The issue is that most of these guys turn out to not be Jason Witten. They project more as solid to good starters but they won't turn out to be future HOFers like Witten. Panthers fans love Wesley Walls and for good reason, but would you want Wesley Walls with a top 10 pick? I honestly think that Colston Loveland has the higher ceiling of the two.
-
The experts seem to love him. Personally, I haven't heard one GM, coach or national talking head say he's overrated. Those in the know sing his praises. I haven't researched him because I don't see the Panthers drafting him.
-
Warren is a better prospect than Olsen, IMO. Not saying he'll be as good a player, but purely as a prospect I'd rank him higher than Olsen.
-
Bowers was a 1st round tallent and even he didn't go top 10. Warren's speed and size will not be the positives they were in school. People have just fallen in love with a typical 2nd round TE in a draft lacking talent at the top. Even Olsen was a late 1st and he was quicker than Warren.
