Oh, man. Hearing "Muhammad!" from the play by play announcer just unlocked a core memory for me. That brought me right back to the call of the 85-yarder in the Super Bowl, which just lives deeply in my psyche. "Looking. Looking. Gonna go deep. Has his man WIDE OPEN. It's Muhammad. MUHAMMAD! To the 15, 10, 5, Touchdown!" Okay, I now have an active rooting interest in him making this roster. I need that back in my life.

Both teams seem to know WR talent. How can you say we should have accepted the trade when we don't know what was offered? The Niners weren't far behind us, I doubt they threw in a future premium pick.

You definitely need to bring your gear to training to get Lil Moose to sign it too. That would be the coolest poo ever!

I came over from the old Scout Inc. site. Quite a few of us did. Not sure how many folks are still here from there now. It all kind of runs together in my head at this point and I can't really distinguish one from the other anymore it's been so long ago.

Rucker wasn't anywhere as quick as Scourton. Those spins are redonk. But that being said I hope he's as good an edge setter as Rucker was!

I woukd have loved droping back late. That's where the value was this year with the top lacking so much talent, end of the first and top of the second. I was also fine with taking future picks which teams devalue too much. 11 sounds great but then I would have hoped for another trade back personally.

I remember migrating to this board I think from the official one? My memory is foggy around it. I remember the Panthers used to have an official board around the golden age of AOL. They ended up shutting it down probably because they didn't want anything to do with people like us lol. Was the huddle called something else, or was there an intermediate site in between official forums and the huddle? I think I've had like 3-5 user names on this site because I'd make a new one to lurk every few years and forget the credentials/email associated with it.

Thielen is Bryce's favorite target, but not because he's the only one who creates separation, but because he's the only one he can actually rely on to catch the freaking ball when he throws it to him. XL had terrible drops last year, Coker was still an UDFA and is raw and learning the game, our best TE was another raw rookie with potential but still not there yet, and our #1 going into the season decided a month in that he was going to become a huge head case and end up on like 18 different teams by the end of the year because of it. So who else do you think he was going to throw the ball to? All that's also ignoring the dumb statement that T-Mac can't get open, keep telling yourself that, because at least that way you'll just be THAT much happier when the season comes around and T-Mac is putting up video game like stats.

One of the things that makes TMac an interesting big receiver prospect, is how low he can dip his hips in and out of breaks. This may not seem like a meaningful trait to most, but this is something that, physically, a lot of big guys cannot do well. This limits their flexibility, their ability to beat man to man, and the ability to make themselves skinny/small in run after the catch in traffic. This has been an asset to him, particularly on 3rd down and in the red zone. Both places this offense struggled receiver-wise. If you rewatch any videos of him, watch him on 3rd and in red zone. He seems to always get open and he never drops a ball. Other situations? Sure, he can use some development to create separation, but here? He's a weapon already.

I can't wait for that 1st pre-season catch! "M-O-O-O-O-O-O-S-E"!

Yeah I’d say we are very lenient on the side of free discussion on this site without getting heavy handed in the moderation.

I think you are a couple of years ahead of me. Honestly I couldn't tell you the exact year because I'm old and I don't remember what I did yesterday. I know it's over 20 years.

It won't be to eliminate Bryce's tunnel vision, but unless we're legitimate playoff contenders at the deadline, I'd be shocked if Thielen isn't traded during the season. I can't see any way he is a Panther next season, he either retires or signs with a contender for one final shot at a ring. So if that's the case, we're not legit playoff contenders, and he's playing well, I do think some contending team that could use a steady WR will give us like a 4th for him at the deadline hoping it will be the last piece to the SB puzzle they need. Keep Thielen around through camp and the early season to help the young guys get up to speed, then if we can get a 4th for a guy who won't be back next year you jump all over it and then go out and sign whoever the best vet FA on the market is to replace Thielen's mentorship in the WR if needed (maybe Renfrow after he doesn't make the final 53 in the end?)

I wonder what the offers were? I get the feeling that not too many teams would want to break the bank with the long list of similarly ranked players out there after the 3-4 blue chip guys. Dropping back to 26 seems too far IMO without their next year's #1 being in the mix. Now dropping from #8 to #11 intrigues the crap out of me! Assuming that the offer was at least #11 and #75.
