DEVILS @ HURRICANES STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS ROUND 1
Stumpy replied to PantherChris's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Nice to see that Pesce has fully recovered from that nasty lower body injury last year... -
I believe you Verge but it would be a HELL of a smokescreen if the Panthers had no interest in Walker

Blackshear isn't an every-down back. The FO doesn't believe that he is either. He's here to return punts and kicks. And Jonathon Brooks likely ain't even playing in 2025. Who is the 5th guy...? We have two legit guys right now to carry the load. Lord forbid that either gets hurt. This is a deep draft at RB. If they want to get a UDFA, OK...but this strategy hasn't really worked over the years from what I've been looking at. Day 3 is the answer.

Arizona state was definitely more creative getting a mismatch on skattebo in the passing game. Honestly, I thought that was the most impressive thing about skattebo that game (that and his ability to stay up after first contact). I still don't think Texas' defense was particularly great and was a bit overrated. They managed to avoid the better offensive teams (at least passing ones) in the SEC. But yeah, I still wouldn't draft a running back very high unless they are a freak athlete like Barkley or elite at running and receiving the ball like CMC

What does one have to do with the other? Teddy got plenty of chances with multiple teams. Howell got one full season with a soon to be fired head coach in Ron Rivera and then got sent packing.
-
I like the EDGE guys in a trade back.. I like all the safety prospects across the spectrum. If we can land Swesinger in the 2nd, that would be awesome...him or Noel.
-
as long as we don't take a backup QB before round 5 I'm fine.

07 is way too low Beason, Kalil and CJ are all Pro Bowl/All Pro caliber players. Franchise saving draft -
Well that's good to hear. Certainly Canales can walk and chew gum at the same time ie develop more than one QB. This will make me feel better about the QB room.

Jordan "DaBomb" Martinuke

Jalin Noel is my dude

I'm not saying this won't happen but the rumors today on draft twitter make this level of chalk seem unlikely. I will say I think Campbell and Membou and MAYBE Banks all go before 8 I really think SF ultimately ends up trading up for an OT
-
We are taking Mykel - book it
-
If that plays out I’ll be really impressed with Dan and company. I could totally see it happening,

Ezeiruaku the edge out of BC generally has a first round rating Brugler has him rated 22 and Jeremiah at 30 Seen some mocks in the mid teens although most in twenties

Cousins will take some work to get a deal done, but it's not completely impossible. -
A tweener or a guy who just said his pro-day was bad because of an ankle injury he suffered in the first game of the season. Athlon If you are desperate for an edge, take a real one in Mike Green.

There was a HUGE gap between ASU and Texas and Skattebo put up a legendary performance. Penn State was 8th in run defense and Texas was 12th. I think Jeanty is a very good RB prospect. But I do think people are really overrating him. I don't think he's special and they're getting caught up in his college stats and overlooking the reality that he doesn't contribute much at all as a receiver and that he was putting up those stats versus well below average competition. I just don't see the generational type RB prospect people are trying to make him out to be.

That's the game you're going to go by when Penn State has an elite front 7 vs. a much worse Boise State oline...Teams were just not able to run against Penn State this year Not saying Jeanty is the greatest thing, but the talent disparity between those two teams was probably the biggest in the CFP behind maybe Penn State vs SMU.

Agree!

The corollary in all of this: the 2001 and 2002 drafts enabled the 2003 team to go toe to toe with the GOAT in what was one of the greatest SBs of all time…. But then they were never able to put quality depth on the team to account for key injuries. Those back to back drafts will never hit like that for us ever again, but it sure would be nice.

haha could be but it’s fun to trigger you miss and make you sling your purse
