Anyone not named Sanders. Seriously.
-
he's too tall for a 3-4 nt from my understanding they should be shorter by about 5 inches.

Round 5, Pick 2 (#140) - Cam Jackson, DT, Florida
Daddy_Uncle replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Big boy -
Cam Jackson was right under him; PFF had him rated higher than the two DTs picked before him (Hemingway and Farmer). Not going to lie, I do like this PFF-full analytical approach
-
What QB would you take right now? I would go with McCord. It would be like us to draft Sanders. Only city in America with a Ball (Hornets) and a Sanders in the same town.
-
Panthers have had one of their best drafts in years this weekend.

from the Beast....I'll also post this in the Cam Jackson thread when it's posted STRENGTHS: ● Mammoth frame with above-average height, length and body thickness ● Solid athleticism and balance for a man his size ● Plays strong and can be immovable in the run game ● Improved use of length and hands in the run game for quicker sheds ● Heavy-handed with stopping power at contact, routinely handling double teams ● Uses height to his advantage and rarely loses sight of the football ● Wide tackle radius to swallow up runners and finish with throw-down violence ● Played penalty-free football in 2024 ● Coaches say his leadership voice got better and better over two seasons in Gainesville WEAKNESSES: ● Below-average pass-rush impact ● Streaky snap anticipation — doesn't gain much ground with his initial step ● Creates pop at contact as a bull rusher but doesn't consistently drive blockers backwards ● Gets upright quickly, which weakens his base and zaps some power ● Needs to improve consistency, staying square in the run game ● Plays hard but doesn't have much range or closing burst outside the hashes ● Gets out of control at times, leaving him overextended at the waist ● Combined for just 18 pressures on 321 pass-rush snaps in two seasons with the Gators SUMMARY: A two-year starter at Florida, Jackson was the nose tackle in co-defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong's scheme, playing primarily on early downs (averaged 28.8 defensive snaps per game over his two seasons in Gainesville). After his full ride to LSU fell through, he earned Memphis' attention before finally making it to the SEC as a dominant run defender with the Gators. A massive human (you don't need to know his jersey number to spot him on tape), Jackson occupies space and is able to eat up double teams to keep linebackers clean behind him. He flashes power to big-boy blockers but doesn't consistently sustain and collapse the pocket, which limits his role on sub-package downs. Overall, Jackson has a shallow toolbox as a pass rusher, but he is a solid athlete for his size and a tough player to displace as a two-gapping run stuffer. Regardless of scheme, he offers value as an early-down NFL nose who can anchor and eat up blocks. GRADE: 3rd-4th round

That's a bizarre thing to complain about. They're letting fans from international locations announce late round picks... *RAGE*!!! LOL
-
Jackson is 12th best run defender in the entire draft. He provides little as rushed but it’s impossible to move him on run plays. They called him a wall.
-
Not a fan of our 4th round, but Cam Jackson was absolutely required depth inside. He isn't DB nor do we want him to be. He's a plug up the middle on the goal line or 1st/2nd down. Coach him up and he could be a great value.

The 3 Bleacher Report guys gave that pick an A+. One of them is Conner Rodgers.

my biggest concern with Bryce Young is consistency & that's the thing with pretty much all these Qbs in the NFL they all have the potential to be really good Qb's but it's the ones who can consistently be good for 4 quarters week in & week out that separates the elite Qbs from the average/bad Qbs in the NFL. & what i see in Bryce Young is very concerning to say the least because he struggles to be consistently good week in & week out.& moreover BY seems to play even better when the pressure is off in games toward the end of the season where the Panthers are not in a position to make the playoffs .it's really you never know right how BY is going to play from one week to the other & if you look at the other Qbs in the NFL you will see the same thing Qbs like Jameis Winston or Derek Carr & so many other Qb's who at times look like elite thesec Qbs then at other times they struggle to make good decisions & complete passes so yes i think Bryce Young needs a legitimate plan B such as Shedur Sanders until he shows that he can be consistently good week in & week out

Nice…good depth and development player to shore up our run D. -
What a massive human being
-
Nice. I really wanted to come out of this deep DT draft with one of them.
-
This international poo sucks

Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State

He was 142. But they said he was a perfect zone system fit, which is Carolina. -

OT, QB and Kicker and my draft is complete.
-
Getting this late in the draft i love the idea of drafting the biggest dudes left lol, I don’t think Gettleman’s hog mollie theory is that far off
-
Never thought that we'd have Ewers, McCord, Leonard, Howard, AND Sanders available. We need OT as well.
-
Looks more like a 3-4 end, he's a big dude at 6-6 and 330lbs, but he definitely has the weight to play NT that's for sure. Probably can move him around the line as well because of that size.
-
Played in 12 games with 11 starts (37 tackles, 4 TFLs with 1.5 sacks, 2 PBUs). Did not play in the team’s Gasparilla Bowl win over Tulane.
-
Preferred Jackson over Deone Walker….by a lot.
-
Raw as hell but a massive man. He will probably end up on the practice squad.
