  1. Past hour
  2. All I can do is hope for a trade down. Alternative is taking an OT because things are worse than we all know.
  3. Look at the draft. The talent in the 2nd and mid 1st are not that different than at 8. The biggest difference is who has been talked about endlessly to fill the void since so few of the guys in that second teir worked out enough to allow any seperation that were at the top of that teir. I just don't think the traditional trade value holds up when the talent just isn't there at thr top of the 1st. It's even worse top 5. The 8th pick is probably holds the value of a pick in the 20s in other drafts but still has to pay a fixed cost so most if not all the players in the top 10 will be overpayed for thr talent level recieved which is usually reserved for taking shots on a QB. It's a really weird draft and really unimpressive from a value standpoint in the early first. And they still have to pull off a trade or spend time justifying a flawed pick in the top 10 if stuck with it. I think that part hit close to home for everyone Panther related more than losing a little value on a pick with meh options in comparison to other years.
  4. Today
  5. Evero had 3 rookies who started last year. One was a UDFA. The others mid and late round picks. I never got the impression Kaye pays particularly close attention to the team based on things he says
  6. If Walker and Graham are off the board and someone wants to trade, I can see it happening. Top 15 and no further down hopefully.
  7. I don't get the tweener comment, not in today's NFL when Micah Parsons stars for the Cowboys. Walker is the same weight, 6-1/6-2 compared to Micah at 6-3, plus Walker has longer arms. Bunch of teams have him rated up where Parsons was pre draft.
  8. I think they want to trade down, but im not sure it will happen
  9. This my last mock probably. Tried to emulate what I think they want to do tomorrow and later on. Picks based off visits and meetings. Would be great if it works out this way.
  10. I believe we will trade down and get a top 15 2nd round pick.
  11. so I assume you prioritize need over BPA. Not here to argue with you btw, just pointed out earlier why the Panthers would consider DT@8 since it "doesn't make sense" to you. It's pretty obvious to me. No-one here knows how Brown will rebound btw.
  12. I've seen him go before us and extremely deep into round 1. It's going to be how desperate a team is, especially if N. O. shows interest or no interest trying to hid their intentions. Just like every draft it's all smoke and mirrors.
  13. If you don’t understand there is a difference between “wanting to fix the run defense” and “DT is the position of priority” for us, then I don’t know what else to tell you. When you have a Derrick Brown and so many other holes, I can never see DT being the position of priority in the draft, and that’s not saying we can’t take one, but it should be far from our main priority
  14. We’re going to be terrible next season. Draft the player that will be helping us the most 2-3 years from now, not next season. Wharton shouldn’t be preventing us from drafting anyone.
  15. I believe that we will trade down especially if Sanders is still available and someone wants to jump in front of New Orleans.
  16. The moving up/down talk always goes crazy the closer it gets to the draft because it's the most interesting thing to talk about for the media heads. Once it gets to draft night none of these moves end up happening. I'd say the odds are still heavily in favour of us picking at 8.
  17. if it still doesn't make sense to you that they want to fix the run defense, I don't know what else to tell you. They have only been preaching that specifically since the end of the season. It didn't make sense when we drafted JStew at the time either
  18. Hampton is going to Denver. Payton is going to turn him into an All-Pro. Both are 1st round talents but I think Hampton is going to have a better career especially if he ends up in Denver.
  19. Your point? We didn’t have Brown at all last year, so we are basically already adding one all pro level DT to the team this year. I’m not even saying we don’t need another, but just that I can’t see how it’s a priority position for us high in the draft because of Brown.
  20. I don't buy that Morgan or anyone else said we'd give a F'ING discount. That's the most absurd thing I have heard all week. No front office is going to say that. Probably more networks trying to manipulate the draft. I CALL B. S.
  21. If we aren't getting an early to mid 2nd round pick then I say no deal. A 3rd doesn't help us. This could also be a smokescreen. By saying there have been talks of us trading down would make a team want to move up and offer a good trade package.
  22. So the guy as a career year and Detroit wants to trade him. Doubt they get much for HIM. With his off the field issues Detroit will be lucky to get a 6th or 7th out of him.
  23. One show I saw say there was something about him but they didn't elaborate. I believe Star was 8 as well. If Graham is everything they say. With him and Brown collapsing the pocket it will open things up for Clowney and the rest of our edge rushers.
