I'm not saying he's wrong on all of his projections, he's right on some, no doubt about it. But I'd say he's been way more wrong than right when evaluating WRs over the last 5 years or so, I'd consider that regularly in my book, but to each his own.

Are the Panthers still coddling Bryce?

And yet you can't name the backups who are better than him. -
I have seen some suggestion that T-Mac has issues with work ethic. I hope those reach his ears and he takes that as motivation to work extremely hard to be dominant.
-
I'm not throwing anymore shade at Tmac, hope he becomes a great player for the Panthers

I’m pretty much fuging over this guy. He’s got himself on wayyy to high a pedestal. Also…see Jonathan Mingo.

I think we should have tried to iimprove our QB room. Dalton as a mentor is fine but I don't want him playing long term. We should always be trying to improve, even in the backup QB spot. I'm more concerned about the team than a year one particular player. Look at Purdy, Dak, and Brady. All young backup players that had success once they had an opportunity to injury. Players that started moving forward. Jimmy G was a backup that was traded for a 2nd. These are exceptions to the rule, but you'll never find the gem if you never look. We should be developing multiple QBs all the time. BY is the starter for now but should always feel pushed. I don't want the team to fall apart if BY suffers an injury. Next man up. Always try to improve the caliber of players on your team. -

This guy is an athletic freak. This is an interesting move. -
One of my favorite things about us taking T-Mac is that I get to see my Arizona boards attack my GOAT (haven't been able too decide which boards I'm enjoying more... rubbing it in my fellow Wildcat fan's faces that my NFL team took our guy or just celebrating on here that we took him, they're equally fun in different ways lol). Needless to say, Smitty is not a well liked person these days in Tucson, and all the Wildcat family is talking about how they hope T-Mac takes all his Panthers records away (which frankly I agree now as just a Panthers fan, because it means we drafted a HOFer). But one of the things I keep telling them is that as Panthers fans, we know Smitty is regularly wrong on his WR projections and that Smitty hating on T-Mac is probably a better sign for his career than the opposite.

Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State

I think we can get 2-3 starters and up to 3 more good contributors. That's something I've never seen from a Panthers draft -
Round 6, Pick 32 (#208) - Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado
jfra78 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think its pretty clear. He tanked several interviews with teams that he didn't want to play with, then word spread. After the teams that needed a QB took a QB the other teams didn't want to deal with his drama as a backup. In the end the Browns double dipped at QB because they the Browns. If not he would have gone undrafted -
I always liked Smitty he is one of my favorite Panthers but don’t care for his WR analysis or any thoughts on football he’s just not that good. I remember when Larry Fitzgerald was a rookie, Smitty was on WFNZ radio after a game saying how he looked slow and wasn’t impressed. Needless to say Larry had an even better career

If Bryce doesn’t produce, we moving on?
BEASTfromdaEAST replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been wanting to move on as soon as we drafted him so.....YES we better move one of he craps the bed -
Yeah, me too. Now if Bryce wins us a Super Bowl, then I might have to revisit it. There's nothing earth-shattering here though. For me it's kind of hard to judge a trade like this one because it's five versus one. The five should almost always beat the one. The team trading for a number one draft pick and overall QB are likely always going to lose that trade by its very nature because they're basically gonna have to bend over in order to move up in that scenario. At least that's my thoughts on it.

I sure hope so. Post-2017 has been a rough ride. People tend to forget that we had an 11 win season two years after the SB loss, but after that it's been a suffer fest for sure. -
Has anyone seen Nicole?

Most propositions here on the Huddle become "all or nothing." It's a constant swinging from one extreme to the other with very little tolerance of anything in the middle. It's sad. I didn't want TMac, but I'm a fan now and hope he has a lot of success regardless of my pre-draft biases.

son of a moose! In my mock I was taking him late. Welcome Muhammed III ! almost started a new thread but I'll put it here Little "Moose," a Charlotte, N.C. native, played at Texas A&M University from 2020 to 2024. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder, over those five seasons, amassed 81 receptions for 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns. Muhammad also served as a punt returner for the Aggies, fielding 27 total attempts for a combined 194 yards (7.2 yards per return). https://x.com/ThePanthersWire/status/1916523021046530151 -

Bryce has to show significant improvement, even if we don't win. I don't understand not bringing in competition at the QB position. Dalton is not the answer if Bryce gets injured. We should always be trying to improve the QB room. There are multiple examples of backups that ended up being better than the starter following an injury. I don't think that this team is going to magically turn around with one of the worst defenses in the NFL returning, but with new faces. The things I need to see. 1. Quick progressions and decisions for getting rid of the ball, whether that's to a receiver or sidelines. 2. Multiple long sustained drives every game 3. Confidence. We need that swag back. He was showing it at the end of the season. We need a full season of that. 4. Less fumbles. He can't cough it up when someone gets to him. 5. IT. Some QBs have it, some don't. You know it when you see it. 6. More game winning drives where BY is the one leading it and doing it. I don't consider handing the ball off 3 times and kicking a FG a game winning drive for Bryce. I need to see him put the team on his back like Cam used to do. If we don't see several of those things, I think we have to consider moving on. Can't offer BY starter money and a huge chunk of the cap if he's JAG. -

Rod is such a terrible playoff coach. That guy is single handedly going to cost us another game. -
It was encouraging that Bryce was benched last year when he was not getting it done. This gave me hope that Canales and Morgan have the stones to do the right thing about him going forward. If he does not progress this season the Panthers should look to draft a new QB in the 2026 draft. I really hope BY is the answer. He has no excuses this year.
