  2. Whatever. I am so ready to not see any more mock drafts until there is a draft worth talking about in the 1st. Even the top 2 guys in this draft are underwhelming in comparison.
  3. I'm having a hell of a time trying to make projections for Carolina due to the giant question mark that is Jacksonville. Looking over their roster, they're a prime candidate to trade back. Most of the top prospects are going to be at positions they've already made investments in and are getting returns on: RB (Jeanty) - Travis Etienne (2021 1st), Tank Bigsby (2023 3rd) OT (Membou) - Walker Little (2021 2nd), Anton Harrison (2023 1st) TE (Warren) - Brenton Strange (2023 2nd) DT (Graham) - Davon Hamilton (2020 3rd), Maason Smith (2024 2nd), Jordan Jefferson (2024 4th), Arik Armstead LB (Walker) - Foyesade Oluokun, Devin Lloyd (2022 1st), Chad Muma (2022 3rd), Ventrell Miller (2023 4th) EDGE (Walker) - Travon Walker (2022 1st), Josh Hines-Allen (2019 1st) Looking at the investments already made, if the Jags were too go with one of those positions I could see them leaning towards a rotational edge rusher or an upgrade at tight end for TLaw. Their most pressing need (imo) is at CB. I could also see them looking to go WR as well, but all scenarios point to the optimal outcome for the Jags to be move back, acquire more draft capital, and take the best prospect rather than the most needed position. This spirals a bit when I start to try and figure out what Carolina will do. If Warren or Graham falls to them they will have to determine whether or not they're better off passing on them and getting extra depth from this class. Trying to read the tea leaves, I think that they've made peace with that and are willing to move back and look to take either the best SLB or WLB available (Mykel Williams or Donovan Ezeiruaku, imo).
  4. https://www.qcnews.com/news/local-news/panthers-take-next-step-in-building-uptown-practice-facility/ Smaller but fine from what I have seen. Most of Rock Hill was a residential and commercial mixed development around the facilities which were expanded with office if I remember correctly. I can't belive it's 2025, the team is worth billions and the team still doesn't have a finished practice facility. Not bitching just saying wow to that chapter finally coming to a close.
  5. I don’t think JW is close to as much of a sure thing as Luke was but I understand the comp. I just see way more of a ceiling with JW, and I think he has the drive to get there. I actually think Mykel has a higher floor than JW, but man I just never see him bring a double digit sack guy ever. I’m super worried about spending #8 on an End/Edge that has such limited upside as a pass rusher. We seem so obsessed with stopping the run right now, which is fine. But our defense will still be god awful because no one can get to the passer.
  6. I would not be shocked if he's the pick. They are hell bent on getting a DT apparently and Nolen is probably the best of the group when it's all said and done. I can see it happening.
  7. I don't buy it either. The Colts don't need to trade up for a TE. I can see the Jets taking a TE because that's what they do in the 1st round. But the Colts trading up for one is nuts.
  8. Walter Nolen to Panthers @8 picking up steam https://x.com/slickrickscoops/status/1915040547787645113?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
  9. This reminds me of 2012 when we apparently had Quinton Coples rated neck-and-neck with Luke Kuechly. Imagine if we had gone that route then. Taking Mykel Williams might not be that bad of a decision as I do think he'll be a decent player (whereas Coples was a flat-out bust) and Jalon Walker isn't quite a Kuechly-level player, but I can't help but to feel like we're flirting with making that kind of a mistake here.
  10. 2 TEs in the top 10 is nuts. I don't buy it.
  11. No comment about two TE's in the top 10? Seems absurd to me. I guess anything's possible, but I don't see it.
  12. If Mason Graham slips to 13 there is a significant deficiency no one else but Peter is privy to.
  13. How will the uptown practice space compare to what we could have had in rock mill / fort hill?
  14. If we do take Mykel as Verge implies, I hope someone has the courage to ask Dan something about his production. Dan just told us production at the collegiate level was going to be a massive part of the evaluation process this year. Is 20 tackles and 5 sacks enough? Maybe it is. That seems a bit underwhelming for a top 8 pick. And I won’t even complain if Mykel is the pick. I think he was used in a way at Georgia that makes it difficult to rack up a lot of flashy stats. But this is a question someone needs to at least ask.
  15. Sure but I think the speculation is they're looking to get more than that. To me it looks like they're trying to sell high while he's coming off a career year statistically. They already know they won't be signing him long term for whatever reasons.
  16. I hope to hell Mason Graham falls to us because if we get a top-10 pick only to come away with Mykel Williams it's going to be a huge swing and miss.
  17. I believe there are dumbass teams as we have been one of them for a long time now.
