  2. Well, if you want to spend a month's worth of rent on a TMAC jersey, the NFL is auctioning TMACs first signed NFL jersey. I think 1st round picks sign one jersey, one draft card, and one mini helmet after being drafted and auction it off. I could be wrong, but about there only being one, but i saw it on the NFL auction site for people to bid on. Should still have like 12 days left on the bidding, if you're interested in something like that.
  3. Exactly what I'm thinking, but might keep 7 on final cuts, then place one on PS to get down to 6 active
  4. only if it's cheap and high quality.
  5. I wonder if the Carolina Panther Gamecock "fixation" is the downside of the "local visit" perk. It's the only SEC school that checks the box and they get local visits out of it at draft time. Wonder if Clemson doesn't meet the map requirement to be in the metro area like U of SC does. Which could be part of the HUGE disparity of one school being the lead the school in draft picks .....and the other posting a goose egg despite Clemson putting more players into the NFL and being the better program during the Panthers era. The rules just give them access to Gamecocks (which is an SEC program) without using top 30 visits.
  6. Sure, DB being there last year takes us from worst in NFL history to what? Likely still 32nd, optimistically, 31st. I would love to be proven wrong, but I currently dont see it. Maybe its just a bad taste in my mouth from previous seasons that is driving this.
  7. You don't move on unless you can trade him for good value. But you do bring in competition for the position and let the best man win. He is still on a rookie contract but you wouldn't pick up his 5th option unless he earned it this year and next.
  8. When I was in my early 20s, this kid wound have been put on a pedestal. Not only did he get the information from an Atlanta coach, he framed the Saints. He is on a different level. Don't get me wrong--it was stupid-- and if I was his dad I would be pissed--but the nerve--the balls---the unbridled disregard for the consequences of the establishment--few people have ever reached this level. But there are others who were more brilliant, but for these examples, we have to go to the Ivey League and MIT. Let's start with MIT: During the 1982 season, seven members of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) managed to bury a weather balloon under the field in Harvard's stadium over a three-week period. The meticulous planning and technologically advanced prank led to those MIT students (safely) disrupting the Harvard/Yale game during the second quarter. The balloon, with "MIT" written all over it, inflated to eight feet before popping. The student newspaper at MIT covered the event with a simple, fitting headline. "Saturday's score: MIT 1, Harvard/Yale 0." -------------------- Yes, another Harvard/Yale game. This time, though, MIT wasn't involved. No, this clever trick in 2004 was the brainchild of two Yale students with the assistance of about 20 others. Disguised as "Harvard Pep Squad" members, the Yale students distribute red and white placards to the Crimson crowd. They assured the fans that "Go Harvard" would be spelled out on the cards. In reality? "WE SUCK" appeared on the Harvard side. --------------------------
  9. Also remember that essentially Derrick Brown is an offseason addition to the defense too, that’s not insignificant when we’re talking about improving the defense from last year.
  10. I don't think any authentic jerseys are going to be available for a good while. Chinese bootlegs on the other hand...
  11. I want to know more about the altercation between him and Icky over a Chubba hit in practice.
  12. Yea, I'm not sure how I feel about him yet. A lot of qb prospects make huge rises or falls the year before they come out, and he doesn't even have to come out for a long time. So I'm not judging him as a prospect before the upcoming season is over. It's just something I've been wondering about since the absurd amount of top 30 visits. Not really saying my opinion on him as a prospect or drafting him either way. Just reading some tea leaves so to speak.
  13. About Clowney. He has developed into a leader and his value might be more than his performance would indicate. Young teams need that, which is why character matters. On the other hand, a veteran player can override the coaching--supposedly during meetings, after the coach would say something, players would look at Rodgers for confirmation. Players are in their twenties for the most part and easily influenced.
  14. Yea and we only brought 1 in, the udfs linebacker. That's what makes me think there was more to the visits. Even if my theory is true I think they're still hoping Bryce continues to improve as choice #1. But by how fast Dave benched Bryce and how long it took to bench Dalton to put him back in, I don't think Dave is 100% confident in the ceiling of Bryce. Might as well do a little qb research just in case even if you're 90% sure Bryce is the answer.
  15. Here for the "Cheap AND high quality?" comment
  16. but again, we have drafted more players from that college than anyone else on planet Earth....and that stat predates Sellers stepping on a football field. It's just what the Panthers do for whatever reason. Sellers averages like 15 rush attempts per game. And he isn't Cam Newton or Lamar Jackson. I think Sellers around these parts has been vastly overrated because of a game Clemson couldn't tackle in (and Clemson proved in every game this season they might not be able to tackle David Tepper if he was in the open field. Sellers couldn't do anything as a passer that game. Was meh in the bowl game. But sure, he had some miracle scrambles vs a horrible tackling Clemson team. Folks way too high on him IMO).
  17. Btw, Jerky Boys were the real GOATs of prank calls. We wore those tapes out back in the day.
  18. Good lord that's insane. LOL It's insane to use over a third of your top 30 visits on prospects at any one school much less a middle of the pack P5 school. It's not like South Carolina is Ohio State or Alabama, etc. They're basically half a step up from UNC. Hell, we beat them last time we played.
  19. I don't disagree. I'm just saying we used 11 of our top 30 visits on south carolina players and we brought in one, as a udfa. I just wonder if some of that was to research Sellers. Also I don't like South Carolina as a Pipeline either, but Sellers does have a lot of potential and could definitely climb up the qb rankings this season. He was a redshirt freshman last year and showed a lot of improvement. They clearly didn't spend 11 of the top 30 interviews on south carolina players because they were wanting to bring them in this year or they would have drafted some or brought in more than 1 udfa.
  20. This is the only reasonable approach. He played much better down the stretch last season. Well enough for us to commit to him this season. Let's let this season play out and see where it goes. There's no pressing decision that has to be made right now so it's a non-issue.
  21. maybe one of the worst franchises in the NFL......should reconsider the pipeline fixation from the U of SC. We have more draft picks from there than any other university on planet Earth. and zero all time from the best football program in the Carolina's. might be time to mix it up differently.
  22. Oh ye of little faith. Bryce Young will be the starter for the Carolina Panthers for years to come. You better prepare thy anus.
  23. Don't forget we spent a lot of draft capital in taking Mingo, Legette, and McMillian to give him wr weapons after we spent a fortune to make him the #1. I don't think he will ever live up to being a no. 1 pick but could turn into a serviceable starter.
  24. I literally say this all the time and my kids have no idea why.. "I GOT MAIL..YAYYY!!"
