Is it Thursday yet?

I like Jeanty but it's hard to imagine him having more impact than Bijan Robinson, who was pretty underwhelming as a rookie. A good player but not the type of impact you were hoping for with a top pick.
-
So you're comparing Sam LaPorta to Hunter Henry and Freiermuth? I watched enough of Penn State to know that Warren is closer to Kelci in terms of fluid movement than any of them. That is why he is rated as highly as he is. Give the mini-Mahomes his Kelci. If we had listened to me in 2023 none of this would be necessary but here we are.

A huge chunk of the early guys are overrated and just filling the void of top talent in this draft. Doesn't make them bad players but comparing them to other drafts is going to look like bad value. Also don't draft a RB in the 1st still....especially when this draft is loaded with RB talent later.

We have to be bottom 5 in the league at draft success. It's miserable to look at that. So much to the point that I had to stop reading the list when it got ugly - which for me, was #3 lol. Yes, Cam was a homerun but also number 1 pick. The rest of that draft...yikes. -
I swear if I see one more idiot that posts something like this and doesn't check what year I joined this forum... He literally averaged less than 3.5 ypc the year I created this profile and had some really bad fumbles that cost us games. Yet... this organization thought it was a better idea to keep giving him the rock than give CMC more touches his rookie year. Pretty sure everyone on this forum with half a brain cell knew he was washed... Sorry, everyone except you. You said we need (what I presume to be) an elite TE if you want us taking Warren at eight to address "Bryce's glaring needs". We just invested about 150 million in the oline and he had one of the best olines last year. It isn't really realistic we keep spending every dollar we have and every high draft pick we have on offense while our defense continues to set records for futility. If we trade down and take Warren in the 20s, I can live with it. Using a top 8 pick on a guy I have a late 1st round grade on while doubly not drafting at a position of need is the kind of crap I expect our front office to do sadly. And you say Kelce, Olsen, and Witten aren't getting open on athleticism yet fail to mention that all 3 of them are/were elite route runners t. Warren's route running is not great (as of right now) and is something he is going to have to work a ton on. Those 3 dudes also got drafted nowhere near #8, which really argues my point of you can find good tight ends in later rounds. This draft is very deep at tight end. At the end of the day, I think Warren is closer in current ability to tight ends along the line of Kincaid, LaPorta, Freiermuth, Hunter Henry, etc. than he is Bowers, Pitts (up this high because of freakish athleticism), and Tony Gonzalez. Those 3 justifiably should have been top 10 picks in the draft.

This is the time of year for optimism, but if we can go 4-5 with a crappy defense without Brown and Thompson, with weak Safeties and terrible DL--mediocre at best LBs--no pass pressure to speak of---then I think we can win 8 or 9 IF BRYCE CONTINUES TO IMPROVE. -

Wow. Doesn't even tell the whole story since we are still paying for the '23 class this year. -

I thought 2021 seemed high lol i thought 2004 seemed low at 19. 2018 should be closer to the bottom. do not get 2014 at 12 either. Not as bad overall drafting as i expected. -
I think we are going with Sanders, and I think he is going to be decent to good.

I would say 4-7 wins is likely the expectation. -

Cam is our greatest player but he alone shouldn’t bring that draft class up to #3. 2021 at 16 seems a little low. -
I think Fannin Jr. is a potential exceptional weapon for a gifted offensive HC. I don't really think that is us at all, so he generally wouldn't fit here, IMO. I do think that will dictate his career arc, finding a team that can use him correctly. He might be stiff and have a limited route tree but he is huge, has unbelievable hands and is a monster in terms of yards after contact.

Albert Breer: Panthers have hung a for sale sign on the No.8 pick
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
don't love those players personally but love the plan. Having two thirds and two fourths means you could probably package those two thirds to trade up for a high second. So we would have pick 12 + early second + late second + two fourth rounders. That would be legit -

It looks as though Bryce is engaged in some Jedi mind control training. I have it a little bit--but I need Yoda. My jedi skills work at WalMart when I enter the front doors--they open without touching them. Then I have turned on the water and hand dryers in bathrooms the same way. Sometimes I think, "Did I turn off my headlights?" and they turn off at that very moment. I just need more training. -

Went 4-5 the back half of the season with 3 losses by 1 score. I think 9 wins should be the goal this year. -

Panthers 1st day of voluntary workouts
LinvilleGorge replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Playoffs and a winning record would be super nice but I've become so accustomed to talking draft by Halloween that I'll believe that's going to change when it actually does. -
I wanted to comment on this pick as well. The R OT from BC is my RT crush right now, but this guy can play. The RT from LSU is a keeper too--would have been the LT there, but Campbell and all that.
-
What was that good defense? Because Oregon was 64th in the country in YPC allowed and their 38th in rushing yards allowed likely would've been lower had teams not been playing from behind for most of the year. The reality is that they were a middle of the pack run D. C'mon man, those PAC-12 teams have jever won on defense. You know this. You don't have to create a false narrative to prop up your favorite very good draft prospect.

Somewhere I read a stat that said there has been only 1 TE with arms as short or shorter than his who made a pro bowl or something like that. I did not know that was an issue for TEs as it is for OTs. Snow wants to call him a wide receiver and if so, the 4.71 4o is also a concern--maybe limits his pass tree routes--He does have good hands. I still like Mason Taylor for us though-if we draft TE--I don't think we will unless the choice is obvious.
