Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State
MHS831 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
In a few years, you will love this pick---smart as hell and did everything they asked him to do. His CBs at Ohio State were weaknesses, and he helped keep the defensive backs on the same page. -
Bite me.

Ick wanting too much for the job he's done. Hope he realizes he's ok but has never got close to a pro bowl -
The beginning of the end started with the perma ban of Alejandro, the fat fug we all loved to hate.

OFFICIAL Undrafted Free Agent thread
TheSpecialJuan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Per MHS831 While it seems that nearly every Gamecock was in for a visit, two names visited and I think there could be something there: OT: Devonte Gordon Wake Forest. Small-school transfer who is a very agile and effective pass blocker and blocker in space. Not great on second level vs. the run. 6’6” 310 lbs. S: Andreas Keaton. Temple. Former Catamount. "Andreas Keaton is a versatile, hard-hitting safety with elite tackling ability and the range to excel at multiple positions in the secondary." @nflscouting -

I'll wait and see them at training camp. Might be surprised by some.
-
With that logic you could probably just wait and sign them as an UDFA given our lack of depth at the position and sell them on the chance to compete sooner than later.
-
That's all well and good but these rookies are now where near ready to play every down. They need someone ro rotate with to get a breather now and then right?
-
How it fell I can’t help but feel good about it. Seemed like a good mix of BPA and filling needs. I’m ready to get them on the field.
-
Trade back into the end of the draft so we can take a Center? Only have been 3 drafted so far, so got to be someone out there that we like, right? At this point in the draft, if there is someone you really like, I am never against trading a future 7th to go get them before UDFA hits. Especially as there are always a couple teams at this point in the draft who will make that trade because they already know they don't have the roster spots for all these picks and will take the future draft asset instead.

this place is absolutely dead compared to what it used to be. what a shame

Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State
rayzor replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it's a bigger deal that we stop the run. Let the front rush and frustrate the passing game and make it easier for the secondary to control the receivers. -
I feel the Scrotum grade is too low. B and the Manleyman grade too high, B-.

Round 4, Pick 20 (#122) - Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State
Hoenheim replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Still feels like we don't have a free saftey on the roster. But Ransom still seems like a solid SS or nickel. -
Round 5, Pick 2 (#140) - Cam Jackson, DT, Florida
Proudiddy replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
I figured that as well, but just for shits and giggles. I know the weight is scaring teams off, but… I hope we sign him. Could be a fun prospect. -
Pie for the Person who predicts the Team that Drafts Shedeur Sanders

I vaguely remember the story and definitely remember Todd. Egos are a hell of a drug. -
I don't do rapid reactions. I've got to smoke it over first.

Pie for the Person who predicts the Team that Drafts Shedeur Sanders
MHS831 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
It reminds me of (testing your memory) Todd Marinovich, the USC QB who was so programmed and disciplined by his father that he never ate a hamburger and he was in training since he was 5. Remember that? -
Atlanta, NE, Chicago, and the Panthers had really good drafts. Those are my four teams with an A draft grade overall.

Pie for the Person who predicts the Team that Drafts Shedeur Sanders
MHS831 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I only saw a few glimpses of the problem and could see it. Imagine how bad it was to keep teams away from a top QB (so people said) for 5 rounds when a QB is the most important position in football? Mike Tomlin needs a QB badly. SS visited him. And SS had no idea that he was blowing the interviews because his actions are normal to him. They have been encouraged--not just tolerated, it seems. -
Round 6, Pick 32 (#208) - Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado
CPcavedweller replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Like Mitchell, I feel like we waited too long to address these positions. Horn has ideal traits for that slot guy but his production, particularly on an offense like Colorado had, is worrisome. Mitchell is stiff and seems to sort of be your prototypical average tight end build. He gets taken down easy by dudes much smaller and if he were a gazelle, he would never survive past being a fawn. Anyway, this draft seems as disjointed and out of sync as in years past. I see the plan, but the guys we picked up just don’t make sense.
