  2. Chicago, Miami or Dallas. If a trade is gonna happen, it will be one of those 3.
  3. That’s always the problem with this team, we sell low and buy high. I’m fully expecting if we trade down we’ll get fleeced. The trade I’m looking out for is with Seattle for #18 and #52 so they can move up and take an OT if they fall.

  5. But not the dumbest, somehow. The Browns actually gave Deshaun Watson a fully guaranteed contract; something even Tepper's desperate-for-a-QB ass wouldn't do.
  6. I just don't think the quality players will come at the top this year. I think the middle 1st to 2nd could come out in the inevitable re-mock in a few years. All of the prospects I actually see value in are not expected to be top 10 picks this year. The present bias keeps people from deviating or being a poster child for messing up projections. The fact that almost half the teams use the media blather to justify their drafts explains a lot of why there is so much failure in NFL drafts.
  7. I think it's easier to miss on pick #23 than on pick #8 pending you play the Marty Hurney logic at the top of a draft and just take the surest thing.
  8. This is the widely believed narrative but it'll most likely prove incorrect. There will probably be some great players drafted between #8 and the late 1st. A lot of the guys who are currently being talked about as being "in the same tier" will prove not to be. Then, like always, there will be great players picked in the mid-rounds who were overlooked in large part probably due to group think. If I was running an NFL draft I would be telling my scouts and decision makers to ignore media draft talk. I don't mean just don't pay attention to it, I mean actively and consciously avoid it.
  9. Yep, BPA sounds good in theory but doesn't exist in reality.
  10. We probably stay put. I just don't see many teams itching to trade up in this draft. Maybe if Will Campbell or Armand Membou fall to #8 a team like the Bears, 49ers or Dolphins could look to move up, but even that seems doubtful, IMO.
  11. it's the Panthers. So Morgan probably would trade back for a conditional 8th round pick. Then they would trade back up after seeing all the players they want get drafted and give up 2 first, a rolex, and a weekend on Tepper's yacht.
  12. One pick is easier to miss than 2 or 3 is the thought process there. Yeah you have to assume they will figure it out and if they can’t there is no need to worry about moving up down or staying in place. We would just need to worry about who would replace them.
  13. he is undersized to be a base player. it's also something recently talked about in terms of Micah. I mean, just look at Micah matched up vs some of the bigger tackles in the league. Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano made an appearance on The33rd Team recently, and revealed that the Arizona Cardinals may have created the blueprint as to how to beat Dallas. "Run at Micah Parsons!" said Pagano. "They came up with a blueprint and damn did they run at his a**, and they put big bodies on him...he's a smaller guy (than some defensive ends)," said Pagano. "You get a tight end and a tackle and doubling him ... I think Dallas is going to have some issues.'' In their stunning 28-16 victory over the Cowboys, Arizona ended up rushing for 222 yards on 7.4 yards per carry, with two touchdowns. James Conner did a bulk of the damage, as he alone accounted for 14 carries for 98 yards and a score, on seven yards per carry.
  14. If Evero doesn't start a rookie he may not make it the year... I want a true edge. Ez all day please
  15. I understand that but I’m just saying this draft is pretty bad all around. Pick 8 isn’t much better than a later 1st unless one of the very few blue chippers fall. You have to assume they make decent picks to some degree, if not then there is no need to worry about any of it. If we are that bad at drafting we can easily screw up pick 8 as bad as pick 15 plus an additional 2nd.
  16. Morgan at least has positives. Still not sure if they outnumber the negatives yet. I still don't understand how Fritterer worked that long as a scout and wasn't good at anything. Says a lot about the NFL.
  17. I am reluctantly, hesitatingly, cautiously, bashfully, and secretly liking what I have seen from Morgan. (Sure, he drafted Legette and Brooks--I see the logic and the appeal--Legette was raw and Brooks was injured--but I see the plan). Fitterer had no plan. The best draft pick during the Fitterer / Rhule era was made by Rhule's wife, according to their "look at how cute we are" confessions. I think Chuba was drafted before the longsnapper, another pick they laughed about when talking to the media as if to mock the draft process. Who does that? Who mocks the draft?
  18. Dude was a broken clock with no hour hand and Tepper asked him to make the franchises biggest trade lol
  19. right. You'd think luck would have some role in his success. He defied wisdon and luck (harder to do) and found stupid every time.
  20. I think the only way we trade down and not get ripped off......is if someone oddly falls to 8 that isn't expected to fall that far (some late breaking news type thing on someone that hasn't bene talked about). And in that case, we probably need to draft that kid. Hopefully, Morgan doesn't just have it in his mind to trade down for the sake of trading down for peanuts. But it's a legit worry IMO.
  21. Here's the thing for me: I don't know whether we are going to stay a base 3-4 team or go back to a 4-3 team over the next two years (especially if Evero continues to not work out). That being said, if we are going to go with DL players at #8, I think we need to go with the new model DTs that are out there like this guy and Mason Graham. Strong, aggressive, fast movers. My reasoning is that they are fully capable of playing DE in a 3-4 and can move back to DT in a 4-3 set up just as easily. On the other side of the equation, there's a big difference between a 3-4 Edge guy and a 4-3 DE, making that transfer difficult. It's the Brain Burns problem: quick and long works for a 3-4 Edge but he was too light for a 4-3 DE, especially in the run defense. The fact that he was on a team transitioning between the two types of defenses meant that even after the 3-4 switch was complete, he didn't have the personnel alongside him to really hit his stride. So, if we have to go defense on the pick, make it one of the more athletic DTs in the draft, IMO.
